Wow just amazing. Everything was awesome from the service at the bar to our waitress Tabitha. Our food was amazing and delicious. Huge portions. It was very crowded and we had to wait a little bit longer than our reservation time but that was okay because we sat at the bar and enjoyed some drinks before our dinner. The bartender was great and very friendly. We ordered some Alfredo and stuffed Artichoke wow. We went to Rome two years ago and at at Alfredo's that claim to be the birth place of Alfredo sauce and we loved it. This was just as good. The noodles were delicious and fresh the sauce was very good too. The wife loved her artichoke. For our meal I had the Braciole first time ever and it was fantastic my wife had the veal lasagna and she loved it. The house salads were amazing flavor and we finished with ice cream with amaretto and cool whip and bourbon pecan pie with ice cream. So much food left over. A true Italian restaurant. Atmosphere was loud and friendly and everyone having a great time visiting and enjoying themselves over a great meal . The way it was meant to be. If you are looking for that quiet romantic atmosphere this is not it. If family and great food is what you want then this is a must go to place. Their food is excellent, but Sal is the best. He's a kind and warm hearted soul who wants to make everyone happy and leave Sal And Judy's Restaurant feeling they got plenty of great food and caring serice. I grew-up in Little Italy in NYC. I've eatin the best Italian food outside Itally. And though I've had the best and hundreds to choose from growing up, I'd still go to Sal And Judy's if I was still in NY. This was my first time at Sal & Judy's and I had a fantastic experience!! The service was impeccable, the ambiance reminded me on Sunday dinner at my Sicilian grandma's house and the food was a culinary masterpiece!! We ordered the crab claws and crab au gratin appetizers and had the Redfish Nicholas for our main entree. Sal and Judy's has been around forever! I don't know why, but this is the first time I've ever been there. It was one of my mother's favorite restaurants! I did not realize that the Impastada's owned the place. I was totally excited about getting some of their famous crab claws! I've been to the one in Metairie Louisiana. Can't go wrong with any issue order there in the service is outstanding. I had meant to make reservations prior to going there, but it was a last-minute decision. They took us anyway, and we were seated right away. It definitely won't be the last time I partake of their Italian delights! From the moment you call and get a table in with Greg you are set to have a wonderful evening with whoever you go with. Definitely get some crab claws as an appetizer. The sauce is amazing and the softshell crabs are great. Maybe my favorite is the eggplant Lewis. Also, the lamb chops rare are very good with the mint jelly. First time here and we weren't disappointed. I've heard nothing but good things about this place since moving to the North Shore and everything we've heard was true. This is truly delicious, authentic Italian food served in a beautiful, traditional setting. Everything about our dining experience was top notch. Our server was an absolute delight. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and the current specials, and our drink orders were delivered within minutes of ordering. We decided on the crab claws as an appetizer and they were even better than expected. My wife and sister-in-law both had the lasagna, which was arguably the best lasagna I've ever tasted. My brother ordered the veal parmesan and I had the lamb chops, both were absurdly good. None of us had room for dessert which is unfortunate because I can only assume their selection is as good as their entrees. My pics don't do the food any justice at all but I'll post what I have. I had always heard about how good this place was but all I can say is WOW!!! We went today with my family and the food was the best I've ever had in my life- and I'm from the deep south, so that says a lot! I was also hanging by the bar and Mr. Sal came out to talk to me. I've been itching to try this restaurant and finally got the chance to visit for my mom's birthday! I love a homey Italian spot. The service was good (we had a party of 8) and no one ever went without being tended to. I recommend the eggplant sticks as an app! The red gravy is on the sweeter side, but was still delicious!! My wife and I made reservations here for our anniversary for 7pm. We showed up at 6:50pm in case they would allow us in early (completely fine expecting about a 10-15 min wait). They left us waiting there for over an hour and a half. They told us there were multiple tables that had been done eating for an hour but they wanted to let them talk. They kept sitting people waiting for tables at the bar, they could've politely asked those tables to move there instead. The worst part is after 45 minutes of waiting, a couple walks in that the host knew and he hugged them and softly said, "One second, let me find you a table". Then proceeded to sit them down within the next 30 seconds. Worst ran restaurant I've seen in a while. The food was good but we also waited 15 minutes after asking for our check for it to arrive. We dined in on a Saturday night. It was very busy, but it did not interfere with our service. Thankfully we had a reservation. We started out sharing the Veal Pane. It was wonderful. We ordered the Trout Nicholas (a special) and Lasagna. Both were excellent. The large amount of lump crabmeat on the Nicholas was notable for sure! It was definitely worth the drive from Baton Rouge. We will be back. The restaurant had a great vibe. The owner and management made rounds to check on us. The salad and bread were very good also. Perfect in every way! We visit here a couple times a year, not enough! Always consistent with Wonderful service and food. We enjoyed tonight's Speckled Trout special, as well the crab claw appetizer and a slice of limoncello cake, all of it was delicious! Try not to get too full on the fresh hot bread and salad, as the portions are on the large size. Our dear waitress was Tabatha, she made our dining experience perfect! We actually had been given a gift card from a friend that the restaurant did not recognize as theirs, not a big deal to us, the value of such an experience was well worth our usual visit. But the manager was so troubled about the gift card confusion, she spent time after we left researching how to activate and receive our credit for the gift card and looked up our phone number from making the earlier reservation and called us to assure we knew how to obtain credit, that was above and beyond service for sure, much appreciated! Ok I really wanted to try this restaurant and went for my birthday celebration after we had gone skydiving. I was so excited to be finally trying the food and was really disappointed in the food and the service. I ordered the lasagna which was no more than a big blob that tasted like the chef boyardee I grew up on. It was a lot of food but it just wasn't good. My date had shrimp scampi and my dad the fried trout and green beans. Nothing to really say. The waiter left us unattended for long periods of time and Mr Sal came out and spoke to several tables but never made it to ours. For the price the food wasn't worth it or the trip over. My colleague loves the shrimp scampi but it just didn't cut it for me. Not a bad place but not a place I would return too. read more

This place has been here forever and it's still good. Sal is the brother of Joe in Pasado in New Orleans another famous place to eat. The crab claws here better than anywhere else. The fettuccine however was not as good as it used to be at an passados in New Orleans. My fish could've been a lot better. And the artichoke and oyster soup wasn't really that good. It's unusual to get a poor meal here but somehow we succeeded. Still it's a great place and it's usually very very good. read more
