Terrible experience. My wife had to go to the ER late at night and I asked their hours. She refused to answer me and started taking my information in a very rude tone. When she paused, I asked again how late they would be driving so that I could make a definite plan for my wife to get to the ER and to figure out how to get her home. She hung up on me. The least professional company I have ever dealt with in any capacity! I called at 6:00pm and asked for a cab to be sent at 7:00pm. At 7:15 when no one showed up I called and was told that I would have to wait another 20min to half hour. When I informed that this was unnacceptable because I had already been waiting in the rain for 15mins I was told that that they cannot control traffic and would just have to suck it up. When I asked if they could inform me in the future if the taxi would be late I was flat out told "no". Obviously the owner of this company never took a course on customer service. Unreliable company. Don't bother. Had Logan express call for a cab. Got here and there was a cab with someone else getting into it. The cab driver said he'd call us another. 20 min and nothing. We called the number and were told 35 min. We saw an empty one drive by and another pull in who said he already had to go pick up someone. I called again and they told me another 30min. At this point I already waited 45min. I had to call a personnel ride who ended up getting her only 5 min after the taxi finally showed up. Totally rude to me on the phone. I was trying to call ahead to have them pick me up at Logan airport the next day. The rude dispatcher insisted on my phone number before I could get one word out. Then he kept saying "where are you?" And I kept trying to tell him I wanted a ride from the airport tomorrow. Finally since he kept asking where I was I said California since that's where I am. They are extremely unreliable and are never there on time. I had called them two days ahead of time because needed them at a specific time in the morning. They came more than twenty minutes late and I missed my appointment. The person I talked to on the phone was rude. I am never going to use them again. read more

How can a local taxi traveling less than 5 miles cost $20? Too expensive. For a short trip, I find it's cheaper to park at Logan Express than to pay Tommy's for both ways. If not Tommy's, Uber does it for me for about half the cost. read more

In my experience, Tommy's Taxi has been unreliable and unapologetic. I am not a frequent cab user, but when I work really late and feel uncomfortable walking a mile down a dark street, I call for a cab. I always give an hour's notice and ask for a specific time pickup from the commuter rail station. Tommy's always gives me assurances that they will have a cab waiting for me when I get off the train and that it will be specifically reserved for me. On several instances (when I was in late pregnancy) they had a cab waiting for me but then gave it away to someone who got off the train seconds before I could waddle off. On all of those instances they said another cab would be there momentarily to pick me up. I would have been home sooner if I had walked (even with my big belly). On other instances, I have actually walked home after waiting for more than 15 minutes (again, after assurances that they were but a moment away). Tonight I called an hour ahead, got the same assurances. When I arrived at the station, no cab. When I called for an ETA (so I could decide about walking or waiting), the dispatcher said in a surprised tone "Oh, you are there now?!" Then she said there was a cab on the way for me that would be there in "a couple of minutes." When the cab arrived 15 minutes later, it picked up another passenger then the driver told me there would surely be another cab on the way. Luckily, a minute later another cab (from a different company) happened to be dropping someone off at the station and was available to bring me home. P.S. I have dealt with a few dispatchers. One of them (a man) is at least sometimes friendly. The woman I spoke with tonight and in the past is rude and impatient. Most of the drivers have been nice, but one of them felt free to share some of his political views with me very assertively as if I would surely agree with him (which I most certainly did not). read more

I requested a cab for a 5am pickup on a Saturday a few days ahead of time to be polite. First they showed up on the wrong day, then when it was actually time to pick me up, they showed up 15 mins late. Not exactly ideal when you're trying to catch a bus to the airport. My students use Uber, and after today, I should too. I called around 3:30 for a taxi from school and was told one would come in 30 minutes. Around 4 I called for an update. After some typing and asking where I was going, I was told I'd need to wait an additional 30 minutes. Maybe it's where I was going- downtown. Maybe Tommy's Taxi doesn't like people who live downtown. Maybe it's that they are just liars. Maybe they are unprofessional and mismanaged. Definitely unprofessional and mismanaged. Maybe it's a combination of all three. My husband needed to bring our daughter home from daycare today because she is sick so I was left without a car. He needed to put our sick daughter back in the car to come get me. I have used this cab company several times for early in the morning rides to Logan & late night pick-ups at the airport. Tommy's Taxi has always been on time and the drivers have been friendly & helpful. The other day I was supposed to pick my parents up at the airport, but my car battery died. I called Tommy's Taxi 45 minutes before the plane got in & told them my dilemma. This is a great success story you guys are awesome and it's about car number two which is a van on Friday. The driver helped me get loaded up and help me with my dog since he was scared riding in a crate for the first time in years. The driver help me in every which way and we finally got the dog and then drove to the United cargo area in Boston and upon looking through all my paperwork that I had received from the Banfield animal hospital they said I still needed a health certificate. We drove directly back to Framingham but there was not a veterinarian on duty so my driver suggested we use a different vet that he knew. When we got there they had only promised us a 10 o'clock appointment but we anticipated being able to get in earlier the driver helped request this and they did honor it but he had left to get another call or two and told me to call him as soon as they took in my dog to get his health certificate. When I finished getting the health certificate he was there we resumed back to the airport but since they load the bottom of the aircraft first they said we were too late so we left the crate there drop my bags off at the airport and I was just going to wait at the United cargo until it was time for them to take my dog. You see they want the dogs there a certain time not too soon or not too late so the dogs are not without company or in their crates longer than they have to be. I said I would just wait but he insisted he take me to a hotel since I only had a shirt and it was very cold out he then took me to the Hyatt and waited for me to ask the doorman if it was okay to bring my dog in the hotel. They said yes and every time we stopped and helped me since I have a minor disability with my arms unable to carry things. All the time being positive not letting me get to out-of-control insane or reassuring me that everything was going to work out. He then left and I then went to the United cargo area but now a new person was working and said my crate was too small even though it was fine with the other two employees that I had dealt with earlier. I ended up having to buy another crate for an additional $250 that craves too big I had to wait change my flight again not arriving to California until 12 o'clock. I'm store manager for a large Retailer based in Seattle with well over 300 people working with me I would love to have him on my team is just a great guy thank you. I had a business meeting arranged with 10 people flying in from all over the country. I personally called them and asked the correct questions for setting up the pickups a week in advance. Even had my asst. follow up with them later in the week. When I called them after landing at Logan I was told I had never set anything up with them, when I told them the dates and times we called, I was told I was lying as they keep records of phone numbers. So do we, and I was willing to prove it, but that was not the issue, I had 10 people landing in less than 20 minutes and needed cabs. The woman kept coming back to us calling the week prior, at this point I did not care, I just needed cabs. When I asked her to move on to this, she hung up on me. I called back, and she hung up again. I was persistent and called back a third time, and then I got unprofessional, as I hung up after telling her we would never use their service again. Seriously the most upprofessional, lying group of people I have ever encountered. On a side note, it was the first time my assistant heard me become angry, not bad in 20 years of work. That should tell you how I tried to treat the situation, until they showed me how unorganized, how far they were willing to lie to try and save face, and then not to even try and rectify the situation. read more
