I went here on recommendation from my coworker to get my alternator replaced in June of last year…read more It wasn't cheap, but I appreciated that they were very kind about it and got it done somewhat timely (took an extra day than originally said but that's fine). Well, in late April, less than a year after getting this work done, my car starts having stalling problems. I took it into a different shop, and they determined that the alternator had completely gone bad and would need to be replaced AGAIN. I commute, but this was maybe 15,000-20,000 miles at most that was put on this alternator. After showing my mechanic my initial bill, he was floored at the price ($800-$900), saying it was double what was typical for that kind of work. I would NOT recommend taking your car here. I no longer live in the area so I can't try to get that alternator replaced again with them, but I also do not trust where the parts are sourced from. EDIT: In addition, when I took my car to a new shop to get the alternator replaced, the mechanic told me frankly: "You got scammed, the alternator [that came out of my car] looks incredibly old and it was never going to last very long."

We dropped the car off Sunday night, left the key in a secure lock box. No fuss no muss. The lady called before 8.30 the next day to tell us what needed doing and the price. It was so reasonable. Have them the okay to proceed with the work and it was all finished by 10.30! So efficient were they that we missed their call and didn't actually pick the car up until the next day! When my husband went to collect the car the owner came out and introduced himself and thanked us for our business. The owner vowed in front of me and another witness that "he is not here to screw people." Yet Mr. Breeden doesn't run his business above reproach or with integrity. TJ the mechanic put aftermarket parts on my vehicle without my permission. TJ was also unable to do the repair work properly. There have been complaints about TJ's work but since its the owners son Mr. Breeden will not do anything about TJ's inept mechanics. I felt compelled to share how much care and courtesy their team member, Nelson, showed me during two separate car issues. My elderly parents live in Culpeper, and I visit them every weekend. The first time we met Nelson, our car needed air. My husband and I went to three different gas stations (including the nearby 7-Eleven) and none of the pumps worked. We pulled into Car Doctor, and Nelson kindly drove our car into the garage to fill the tires. He completely refused to take any money for it. Just a few weeks later on a Friday after 5:00 PM, I was driving into town when I heard a loud pop followed by a heavy humming noise. A plastic panel on the bottom of my Prius had broken off and was dragging on the road. Even though the technicians had already gone home for the weekend, Nelson was still there.
