Very cute little shop. The service was nice and quick. I got the beef banh mi and I was pretty good. It was a good size stuffed with lots of beef and carrots on a fresh piece of bread. I do wish I got more than one piece of cucumber. I do think it was pretty pricey ($14) but overall not bad. read more

This is a nice modern shop with good banh mi. Definitely worth a visit depending what you're looking for in your banh mi. We ordered a beef banh mi (the signature) and a pork belly banh mi to share - and ordered both spicy. The sandwiches were tasty but a touch bland for me. Both had a lot of mayonnaise. I expected some natural heat from something in the sandwich and more vinegar from the pickled carrots. We were given two little pots of hot sauce, kind of a gel-like sriracha, which provided some heat. The beef was nicely prepared and tender. The pork belly was meaty, seeming more like slices of pork roast. Again, both meat lacking some grill flavour or other spice for me. For me, the bread was the best feature. Excellent freshness and texture. I was surprised to see the sandwiches come in square containers (like a burger might come in) as I expected a longer sandwich. It cost around $29 for 2 banh mi with tax and tip. Service was fast and friendly. read more

I was looking for a bahn mi sandwich , and it was just in the neighbourhood... I ordered two original sandwiches. I thought $10.50 was pretty pricey but I wanted some so oh well. The sandwich is bigger than a standard Bahn mi and not only was the sandwich really full. It was packed with meat... much more than Ive Had at other places and the homemade pate is awesome. I'm a huge banh mi fan, so when I heard there was a new joint in my neck of the woods selling the stuff, I knew I had to stop by. I showed up before 5:00 on a recent Thursday and I decided to go with their Signature Banh Mi ("BBQ lemongrass AAA tenderloin, with home-made butter, pickled carrots, cucumber, cilantro, topped with our secret BUN MI sauce"). It was ready within minutes. It's a good sandwich. The ingredients are all top quality, and I appreciated that the plentiful beef was super tender. The included sauce was a little on the bland side but tasty enough. This is a sandwich that was in desperate need of some spice but none was included. The bread looked crusty but it was actually super fresh and the perfect texture. The sandwich was also assembled in such a way that all the fresh elements were off to the side, which meant that most bites contained just meat and that aforementioned bland sauce. It wasn't ideal. Still, it's a good banh mi that I would almost certainly eat again if it weren't so expensive. With tax and a 20% tip, the whole thing came out to just under $18, which is a little insane for an Asian speciality that's usually around five or ten bucks. Bun.mi is a cool little place that, with a few minute changes, has the potential to be an awesome local spot. read more

This is a new banh mi shop on the Queensway, that is super cute and will definitely be attractive to the younger crowd. I ordered the banh mi đặc biệt and it was delicious, with hot grilled meats and a generous spread of pate. The bread is more of an Italian style, rather than a traditional French baguette, but still tasty. However, my complaint is that the sandwich is much too small for the price point and in comparison to other typical banh mi sandwiches. MUST TRY. A business worth supporting. Store might look plain on the outside but trust me -- this is the best bahn mi I've ever eaten, across Toronto, NYC, and Montreal. The "pate" spread they use on their sandwiches is smooth and incredibly tasty, the meat is fresh (we tried different kinds), their carrot pickle not too sweet, buns fresh. I thought I might just have been biased because I was really hungry, but I'd ordered a second sandwich that I ate later that day, cold -- and it was still as tasty. Great value for a meal (compared to junky fast fried foods). Highly recommend, and hope they stick around. read more
