This is a firm that is 2nd generation. The father was great. The son not so much. Its definitely a person operation. There are numerous occasions when the business says its open when there is no one physically in the office making it difficult to pickup or drop of items. I was calling around to get the best deal on a slider door re-screen and found that this place was a good deal BUT then... When I first called I taked to Tom and he said it can be anywhere for $7-$17. So I dropped the sceen off his son Brian. He then called Tom to get a price. One of the windows on our travel trailer was shot out with what appeared to be a pellet gun on the property we used to keep our trailer at. I called all the glass shops in town and no one would even look at it. Tom said if I could bring the trailer to him, he would look at it and see if he could replace it without too much problem. Once he saw the type of glass and where it wa located on the trailer, he said not a problem, he could get the window by that afternoon. I called about getting the windshield on my project car replaced. I expressed to Tom that I was concerned about getting an exactly stock (OEM) windshield and I would be doing the molding myself since I am restoring the vehicle and want it done a certain way. This just means less work for Tom. Tom said he wouldn't do the job without doing the molding. He then went on to say that he usually doesn't like to deal with "picky" customers like myself and that he usually refers those like me to other companies. He was very clear about not wanting my business. I'm surprised I'm the first car guy in the world doing a restoration myself that wants to do the molding himself. I'm also surprised that I'm "picky" for doing more of the work myself and wanting an exactly stock window. So based on the owners own statements, he really doesn't do high end work that would be show car worthy, . So if you're "picky" like me and want high end work done on your show car then you may want to go somewhere else. If you're ok with "good enough" then use Tom. I gave two stars because at least he was honest about not doing high end work. Better than acting like he does just to be disappointed in the end. read more

Horrible customer service. I called to get a quote on my damaged window. The man I spoke with was very dismissive and would not give me a quote because I was getting quotes from other glass repair businesses. He stated he was very expensive and still wouldn't give me a quote. I was never disrespectful or rude to him, but he would not listen to me and just give a quote which is what I asked for. I was devastated, in the wee hours my car got smashed and grab. I made a few calls to glass shops to get a price and a time frame. Tom was the best price and time frame. Tom replaced our window screen quickly and charged a reasonable fee. He actually called my husband before the 4th of July holiday to say his shop was closing early, so he could come and pickup the screen before that time, or come by during normal business hours on Monday. My experience with Toms Glass was beyond what I expected. My luck with cars has been the worst, so when my back window got smashed & shattered on my 2013 Honda Civic, I was devastated. Luckily, I didn't have to call but 2 places to find a good deal. First place I called said it would be $730 BEFORE labor. I started to panic. Then I came across Toms Glass & called him. I dealt directly with Tom himself. He was so friendly & helpful. He couldn't give me a price due to it being a little bit later on a Saturday, but assured me he'd call me back by Monday. He called me the very next day with a price of $279. I was shocked! Since the price was so good, I went ahead & got a quote for my front window too. My front window had a lengthy crack that had spread over time that I had continued to hold off on. I figured since I was already getting my back window done & the price was right, I might as well kill two birds with one stone. I had told Tom that I would be getting financial help from my Dad since I didn't have all the money right at that moment. He then offered to let me give him a post dated check, up to 30 days, that way I could get my car fixed in the meantime. I never expected someone to be so lenient when it came to payment. Although the offer was there, we did end up paying everything up front. I got both windows replaced for $602. Considering the quote I got at the first place was $730 for just my back window, you could bet I was satisfied. I highly recommend going to Toms Glass for anyone. The quality of work was great, the service was amazing & he's been in the glass repairing business for 40 years.
