We first made a stop at the GATSBY across the street for brunch then stopped in here for a while. The bar and wait staff were really nice and even with a PACKED house, they got our drinks out quickly. The table was given a choice of multiple brands of tequila which they chose Altos. "The lemon drop is blue!" Lol it was so pretty, sweet, and strong! I was in town for vacation and it's March Madness so I had to find a place with TV's. The front desk at my hotel recommended Tom's. It was kind of busy for a Friday afternoon m, but it's March Madness! We were promptly seated, one issue is they asked where we wanted to sit. I pointed to an area that had view of multiple tvs's because several games were on. The hostess stated that the table was a four top. Ok, cool but the people sitting beside us were 3 people at a six top! We started with the spinach dip and added the crab and shrimp, that was delicious. I ordered the prime rib sandwich and I saw a guy walking around with my food three times because he wasn't sure where it went.By the time it got to me it was like warm. I asked him had he sat it down at another table, three times and he ignored my question. I packed the sandwich and end up throwing it away, my companion was not happy told me i should have sent it back, but I am a non confrontational person. Overall I would go again for the spinach dip and the beer. Even though they don't use cold glasses, their glasses are plastic so no cold glass. read more

Had the pleasure of attending Tom's during their soft open Friends and Family event. It was a busy day, energetic day and it was overall good time! Here some of my takeaways: Environment Tom's is a huge space with plenty of seating for casual dining and for drinks at the bar. There are TVs galore so you'll have no trouble catching a game or two from any different angle. It's a perfect place in the neighborhood for a large sports viewing space with friends and family. Service Service was a bit hectic but expected for a soft opening with all of their staff and a bunch of customers coming in at all times. I had to move tables a few times but my server ended up being very nice, vibrant and friendly. Food and Drinks For the family and friends soft opening we had a choice of a shared appetizer and an entree for each of us. We had the tacos, burgers, tater tots and the corn. All the food was good and great innovative bar food for a sports outing. I would def come back to try other things on the menu. Overall Overall my experience at Tom's was great. Like the other locations they offer great options for food and drinks that will serve you well for a night or day out with friends watching games. I'm glad they are in the neighborhood! read more

It was really busy when I went. Football season is upon us so there's that. I think my waiter was a little overwhelmed because it took him quite a while to get to us. I got the chicken tenders and they use a pickle batter. It tastes like the deli pickles, not the regular kosher pickles and they were VERY pickly. Didn't love that. I also wasn't a huge fan of the margarita I got. There might be one too many tables in there; it felt really cramped. Overall, they have all the tv's, so it's perfect for game days, and I'm sure I'll be back just because of that. I'm going to have to give the food another go and maybe sit at the bar. read more

Attempted to visit this past Saturday and was disappointed that we were unable to actually try any food or drinks. Despite having plenty of empty tables and one bar completely empty, we were told we could only sit at the one bar that had zero empty seats. The young man was friendly enough about it and said something about not enough staff to allow us to sit at the empty tables. My thought was sit us at a table & tell us it may be a little bit of a wait, but to turn away customers with empty tables seems like a management issue. It was the first Saturday of College Football, Nats are in town, and potential customers looking at empty tables while leaving. read more

Witnessed manager - Alora - verbally abusing and threatening a customer at this establishment after they reported a complaint to their server about mistreatment of the bartender to a separate guest. She approached the customer with security and harassed them for standing up for a woman visiting from Mexico who barely spoke English. Saying this person was causing a disturbance due to complaining to staff. Like what?? The customer was very polite and explained the situation and the manager eventually walked away. Meanwhile, a local radical started screaming, and nothing was done. This woman should not be in a position of management as she is clearly out of her mind. The lack of professionalism and racism were evident. I will never return after witnessing this atrocity. read more

I think despite me not being too much of a sports fan, this place is pretty nice in terms of having fun with friends in a restaurant setting or watching sports with them. Food-wise, it's mostly decent with a couple of good food items that you can get while spending time here. If you're here for sport events such as meeting players, watching sports with friends, or playing one of their indoor simulation sports game in the Topgolf Swing Suites, then this is the place for you. If you're here only for the food, there are better options elsewhere, but in terms of value that this place provides, for the price you pay, you do get some menu items that are delicious. Here's my opinion on each one of them: 1. Deep Dish Nachos: A quite large version of Queso and Chips, and I'd have to say that there's plentiful of guacamole, chicken, and jalapenos mixed with the chips that were shared amongst us, and the proteins are spiced very well. 10/10 in terms of flavor, and I'd say it's one of the very best that I've had. 2. Ahi Tuna Tower: I understand that the restaurant tried to make this cater to people that enjoy poke and sushi, though I think that it falls short on the rice, as it is too bland and lacks flavor, and the rice is hard and dry. However, the presentation is nice. 2/10. 3. Tom's Famous Prime Rib Dip: I enjoy the idea of dipping the burger into the sauce provided, though I'd say that the prime rib portion isn't as tasty, and the meat taste dry despite the buns being seasoned and toasted well. The fries that come with it taste typical of any good fries, but it's not something special. 7.2/10. 4. Crispy Chicken & Cornbread Pancake: I had a taste, and I'd have to say the pancake is nice and sweet, though the chicken that paired with it lacks moisture and is a bit overcooked in terms of having it fried crispy. Felt a bit dry also, though I don't think it affects the overall taste. 7/10 5. Butter-Poached Lobster & Shrimp: The lobster and the shrimp are plentiful and taste great and spiced, though I'd say that I'm not a fan of the cheesy taste that comes with it. 6.8/10. 6. Korean BBQ Wings: A bit too salty in terms of taste for me, though I'd say that less sauce that comes with it will lower the sodium on this dish. 6/10. They have really large drinks, and though I have soda instead, my friends commented that this is the best value they get in terms of alcohol. The servers are really attentive and gets back to us pretty quickly. A few of us went in the suites to play indoor football on the screen and golf, though I wished there's a mechanism to get the ball back to the players. Overall, food is 7.5/10, rounded up for the service! read more

Don't ever go to this place. Today we went here for lunch and after we ordered the bartender came back to let me know they were out of what I ordered so I got something else no biggie. Tonight I was looking over the bill and I saw I was charged for both items so I called the restaurant and asked about the additional charge I was told I wasn't charged for both and he hung up on me. Was honored to participate in a soft opening at this location. The staff were busy and the food was great! I think we got to try almost everything on the menu (benefits of going with a large group). I thought the star of the show was the lobster & shrimp Mac & cheese... this visit it was more like getting some mac and cheese to go with the lobster and shrimp. I do not think it is possible to be in this venue and not see a TV. Great place to get your game on ! They also have two Too golf simulators! It is 1/2 block from the ballpark (Nationals) so stop in for some amazing drinks and food before or after the game or enjoy the game there! We will be back after they get some time under their belts to see how they are doing, but the staff were on the ball tonight both on the court and behind the lines. Nice job! I love the vibe at Tom's-- the staff are always really helpful and super attentive. PLENTY of tvs to watch games and they will turn whatever you want to watch on the TV closest to you. They have a list of what games their showing that day so be sure to call ahead to make sure they are playing that game. Pretty much a guarantee they'll play the big games but can be more hit or miss for things like the olympics. I was sad they changed their poke bowl. It's not nearly as good as it used to be so I wouldn't recommend it anymore but their sandwiches are usually pretty good. The drinks are great! The lavender lemon drop martini is my JAM! Honorable mention to the gin and juice too. Definitely cocktails on the sweeter side but they're tasty. Overall a really fun place to hang out, especially for big sporting events. read more

I'm so done with Tom's. Tried the Navy Yard (since my experience with the National Harbor one had been horrible) location to watch college football semi final game. The service is so awful, I'm starting to think bad service is their goal! Just like the Harbor location, servers aren't friendly and inefficient. Several people in my section literally had go up to our server (where she was just talking to coworkers) to ask for basics like condiments and napkins (after dropping off several plates of bbq wings...SMH). One woman said she was waiting to ask the server for "food" after she'd been there for 30 min. already! One of the biggest games of the year was being played that night, but they weren't prepared. Had the game showing on the Pat McAffe Show rather than the ESPN broadcast; and when asked to change it, my friend had to tell them how to do it. My friend's Impossible Burger was impossible...to eat. She said it tasted like the freezer and the bun was so old and dry, it crumbled when she cut the burger in half. Overheard another woman saying the meat on her nachos was burnt and it looked it, too. My $19.99 burger was decent but for $40 total for a burger, 22 oz beer and a soft drink), the service and audiovisual should be outstanding. Left at halftime because we couldn't take the abysmal service any longer. I will never go to Tom's, at any location, ever again. read more

After 30 I asked the hostess how much longer and she said she couldn't find my name on the list anymore because she mistyped the phone number and it said I cancelled. Which I didn't. When I asked if they could seat us she said "ohhh I don't know...".All three hostesses were on their phone while the line stretched out the door. Great ambiance! A really fun place lots of space really high ceilings and tons of television screens to watch sports! I'm a healthier eater so I didn't find mini greens that I could enjoy. But the bar food is really tasty and my friends had shrimp and burgers and they said it was all really good! But there's very little chicken with the chicken and waffles. Disproportionate in size they should fix that. Our server was really nice. I went to pay for my food at the bar, there wasn't an option to leave her a tip and I didn't have cash. I went back to a drink I loved the last time, their lavender vodka martini. A dream, as expected! Next, I opted for their honey bbq wings, and they were "okay". They weren't fried hard like I asked for and the flavor didn't wow me. Since Tom's is pretty close by, I know I'll be back but I know I'll be checking out their other menu items instead. I visited Tom's Watch Bar back in August and had a very unpleasant experience with the manager, who was extremely racist. When I tried to discuss the issue with her, she became aggressive, which led to a confrontation. The security guards intervened, and one of them even smacked my hand. Yesterday, I returned to watch a game, and the same security guard initially told me I was banned. After speaking with the manager, they allowed me to stay, but the security guard's behavior remained unprofessional. He doesn't seem to understand that my hearing disability sometimes causes me to speak loudly. Despite raising these issues with management, no action has been taken. If you're an interracial couple or have a disability, think twice before visiting, as the environment feels unwelcoming and discriminatory. read more
