I just moved to Fort Lauderdale, and I researched many salons. I chose Ton Vangard because I really loved the pictures of before and after, and they had the best reviews. I called and asked, Irene, who would be best for a redhead. She suggested I go with Bella, and boy was she right! Bella did an incredible job getting me the EXACT red I have been trying to get back to for over 6 years! She was so incredible, taking time to really talk to me about what I wanted. I was able to get a haircut appt same day and they were very understanding when I arrived late due to traffic. Amy did a wonderful and thorough job cutting and styling my hair. She has such a lovely personality and really knows what she's doing. The salon is pretty edgy too and the stylists all seem to have a lot of creativity and it looked as if they were really good at color too. I decided to check on Yelp for hair salons for the day of my wedding. I came across Ton Vangard Salon and asked for prices and availability (May 7, 2016). UNTIL the day of the wedding I was so nervous and worried that the reviews wouldn't be up to par with what I wanted. Man, am I glad to say that the whole entire bridal party and I were so happy with our makeup and hair that it's an understatement!!!! These girls and guys did such an amazing job.!! I can not say how impressed we were. We even had champagne and fruits to snack on. They also managed to finish on time maybe even earlier than the timeframe. I am recommending them to everyone. They even made jewelry that was being sold at the salon out of beautiful hair pins for out hairstyle ! It was beyond what was expected and I appreciated it a lot! Emily Holtzheuser is the best! I went there for a tattoo, yes they also have two very talented tattoo artists in house as well as hair and nail techs. It was a fairy minimal tattoo with emphasis on line work. I went to her because her portfolio was incredible and I had heard about her through her past clients. So I was expecting good work, and she delivered. She's great for customer service and made me feel very comfortable. She worked with me to make sure I was really 100% happy before she inked me up. I have now been to this salon 3 times in the past 2 years when visiting Ft. Lauderdale from Chicago. I have nothing to say be amazing things. Each stylist has been great and creative. I have gone to Rose and my daughter, Savannah. We have had color and cuts. Savannah actually did an ombre on my daughter that looked spectacular. Each time the stylist was waiting for us and took their time making sure they delivered exactly what we wanted. The shampoo chairs are unique and soooo relaxing as you actually lay down to get your hair washed. None of that neck craning uncomfortableness. . I'm so happy I found this place. As a native to Fort Lauderdale I've tried almost every salon around here. That being said, I have long hair and absolutely hate getting it trimmed. After my appointment with Steven that is definitely not the case any more! He did a fantastic job. He explained how cutting certain layers would add volume and movement to my locks. I am so glad I trusted him and didn't beg for the smallest trim like I usually do. I've now been going back regularly to maintain this style because I love it that much. I usually have to make my appointments late in the day, which is amazing because most nice salons aren't open late. Everyone who works there is always super sweet and friendly. I moved to South Florida a couple of years ago and have been searching for a great salon. I have tried several places since I have moved here and have not found a place that I am happy with yet... Until now. I decided to try Eric based on a Groupon for a Keratin treatment. I have never had one before but am trying to combat frizz and keep my hair healthy at the same time. He was very patient and explained to me not only the options I had but also the process and more importantly the maintenance for when I leave. I absolutely LOVE the treatment, it makes my hair so much less frizzy and feels so much healthier on the ends. I will definitely be back there to visit Eric for my next highlight and cut. From the second you walk into the salon you feel welcomed and comfortable. They offer you beverages and greet you warmly. Sometimes higher end salons can be stuffy, not this one! I went and saw Isabella a couple times for a cut color and blow dry. She did an amazing job, even though she had to lighten my hair she did so using the least damaging techniques (I have fragile hair) I left with healthier looking/feeling hair and a vibrant red color that exceed my expectations. I have Vitiligo caused pigmentation problems and they were amazing and helping me start the process of tattooing them to match my skin. Meira did the actual tattooing on my ankle and Emily helped with the color matching. I came back to this salon a second time and recommended my gf to come with me and get something done since I was so happy with how my hair turned out the first time. I wont post pictures because Im not that person to add fuel to the fire. I came in with pictures and a few ideas to throw around. My hair was almost to the middle of my backside. I told her that I wanted it cut in a way that would accentuate my curls, add volume (since my curls were so weighed down from the length of my hair) and to also add layers to the front. I originally wanted to do a caramel ombre effect but she said since there was a risk of not knowing what color my hair was after bleach that it wouldnt be realistic. My hair was red last year, then dyed a dark brown january with blonde highlights in the crown area. When i went in Jan she told me that i could come back and they could do a baylage or highlight and put in more highlights for it to be all over as a dominant color. So, now I was told (and she really gave me that look to emphasize that it shouldnt be done) that it wouldnt be realistic to go from dark brown w blonde highlights to a caramel ombre. So i was disappointed and said well can I go back to red then and do a red ombre, she said yes. Everyone is soo nice and its such a great atmosphere but this was a miss. I walked out w a shorter than wanted blunt straight haircut in the back and a few layers in the front with red highlights, not an ombre. I walked out trying to love it and its been a month and I dont. It wouldve been great if it was what I asked for but it wasnt. And I had a picture to reference the cut that I wanted (even though she said one of those layers was 1 too many) but no luck. I also know red takes a lot of upkeep and I find myself with orange strands and pastel looking highlights. Again everyone was great and awesome but Im not happy with my hair at all. I left feeling like I couldve gone to sallys to do what I got done, the worst part is that this was a treat for myself and I dont get to do this often. read more

It was my first time at Ton. Kristy, aka "The White Tiger, " used her claws to expertly craft an adorable, classic layered coif that made me feel like a sexy school/Bond girl. While getting my haircut, she was open to my style requests and even suggested other color options without being pushy. She even educated me about my hair, how to texture it best and so on--something no other stylist has done. Overall, everyone was really sweet and the vibe was chill but professional. I had tape in extensions put in yesterday with Savannah and it was an AMAZING experience. I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. From the color matching being perfect to my balayaged hair (Go see Brandon Eli for balayage - he does an awesome job!!) to the process of putting the extensions in my hair to the instruction and care advice for the extensions everything was phenomenal with Savannah. I went from a thin haired LOB to beautiful long golden locks and the best part is you can't even tell it's not my hair!! I am so amazed at the talent at this shop. I went for permanent makeup today-brows and upper eye liner. Isabella took care of me and she was beyond awesome. It takes a special artist to do permanent makeup and do it well, comfortable and natural. Isabella exceeded at all three. I have been having permanent makeup for years and have never had anyone with such a soft touch and such a precision style. Will not go anywhere else now. well, it's another home run at TON VONGARD, and this one's name is ERIC!! my regular stylist was unexpectedly unavailable, but I did not hesitate to take Irene (love that girl!)'s advice when she set me up with Eric instead. In fact, I'd been in two weeks before and not only noticed but appreciated his way with his guests. I had no trepidation, therefore, putting myself in his hands for my keratin treatment today. FIRST let me say, what a dollbaby this man is! Sweet, southern charm and a grin to melt anyone's heart, Eric draws you in and makes you delightedly grin right back. then he starts talking to you and it becomes immediately apparent the man KNOWS his craft. I relaxed and gave myself over to Eric's magic. We agreed on what needed to be done, and away we went. throughout the treatment, Eric kept me informed on what he was doing, why he was doing it and how long it'd take. i assured him I trusted his skill and talent, but at the same time, I appreciated his professionalism. This is exactly what I meant a moment ago when I referred to his great customer service: Eric just makes you feel so darned comfortable! ok, now for the best part...I'm all done and I look so far past awesome I don't even know where the heck I am! my hair is smooth, my hair is straight, my hair literally GLEAMS. After ten plus years with the same stylist in DC, and living in Florida for a while- I got tired of traveling up north to get my hair done... I've tried a couple people here in south Florida only to be disappointed. But...after a year without a cut and dying for a doo I found a Groupon for this place next to my house. I saw they had a great rep around town so I decided to give it a baby try and get a cut. I came into a bright salon and was greeted promptly by the staff. I was introduced to Esther who was very nice. She got me a huge glass of delicious white wine to sip on- huge brownie points! She listened to me and consulted me on what would look good for my hair type. She was quick and held a good conversation while also cutting hair. The cut came out great! She blow dried it and styled it wonderfully. Overall I love the vibe the entire salon puts out. They have awesome upbeat music, all of the staff is very nice, and they are talented! I've been going to this salon for 6 months. I'm so happy I found this gem in Fort Lauderdale. From the moment you walk through the door your treated like part of a family. Savannah is my stylist she listens to what you want then advises on what will actually work best for your hair type. She is an Aveda trained stylist and my hair has never looked better. Irene is one of the owners and I swear this lady has never met a stranger. They offer so many different services. Ask about pre purchasing sessions. I recently purchased a session of blow drys. Which gave me two free blow drys. You can do this for any service that is offered. Last week I had my first massage at this Salon which was fantastic. Joie was sweet and made my feel comfortable I felt like a million bucks when it was over. It's was an hour that went by to fast. My only hesitation on writing this review is that they will become so busy I won't be able to get in. I really feel this is the best salon in the Fort Lauderdale area!! read more
