Mexican Pizza
Yvonne V.

I'm still actually shook at how good this place actually is! Located in a grim strip mall, we'd heard it was good but didn't have high expectations at all. We came in on a Tuesday night and it was jam packed so there was our first sign the food must be pretty damn good! Ok, so my husband absolutely LOVES menudo (it's a thing) and anyone who is familiar with Mexican food knows it's usually only served on the weekends. Regardless of this, he still had to shoot his shot to see if there was any way he could order it on a Tuesday lol. Turns out they were able to make it happen! Next I was like ok but still skeptical, like maybe we get the menudo and he decides it's mediocre or even old. Not the case at all!! He was in menudo HEAVEN. 5 stars on that fact alone. We also ordered a shrimp taco combo which was also amaze-balls, and a little amigos Mexican pizza. The whole meal put all my skepticisms to rest. The verdict is in and this is our new fave and also super close to home which makes it that much better!!!

Michelada with modelo negra

Overall, very happy with this place. Great food, great service and good atmosphere. The chips were warm and the salsa was very flavorful. I would definitely recommend the Molcajete to anyone, and the tortilla soup was delicious. My shrimp tacos were ok. The filling itself was good, but the tortillas ripped the moment I picked them up to eat. The rice was ok, I felt like they lacked a little flavor. The beans were pretty good. My kids devoured their tacos with rice and beans plates so they had no complaints. My Dad ordered a Michelada with modelo negra and I think it was missing something.. I won't be ordering a Michelada from there again, however the Santa Fe Margarita was really good. I'll definitely stick to margaritas there.

Good food, taste good, they do take out orders! Not the most authentic place I've been too, but close to it

Five star for the taste of these tacos. I am very picky when it comes to Mexican food because I…read morecome from CA where we have the best. I saw the large white truck outside the corner grocery gas mart and swooped in to try it on a whim. I ordered 3 tacos: asada, pollo and carnitas. Delicious!!!! I thought I died and woke up in Central Ca. Highly recommend. (This high of a compliment from me for a taco truck in WA is very rare) Clearly, I highly recommend. I can't wait to go back! I want to also mention. I witnessed the owner paying a homeless man for helping keep his outside space clean and swept. He paid him cash and a plate of food. This owner earned my respect and business even before I bit into one of those delicious tacos.

I've heard lots of good things about Tony's Tacos and was stoked to try them out recently. We had…read moreplans for dinner to order delivery and I wanted tacos, so this was the perfect excuse! My husband and I both got the birria tacos with consome, a side of rice and beans, and guacamole. Everything was packaged up well and was still warm considering it's kind of far from us. Only bummer was that they didn't send along our side of chips & guac. :( The tacos themselves are pretty dang big, and with us each getting two, it was a lot of food. Overall I thought they were really good, but the downside was that we got a lottt of fatty, squishy meat in our tacos which really grosses me out. The parts that weren't super fatty were delicious though!! The consomé was also absolutely fire and I definitely straight up just drank some of it - zero shame. Rice and beans were tasty, but that's hard to mess up. We also really enjoyed the salsas they provided - they both had a good kick that wasn't painful and the flavor was on point. I personally loved the green one the most! Their little food truck setup looks super cute and I definitely want to visit in person to give the tacos a second chance.

I am going to start this review with one word, "DISAPPOINTMENT". Now that's out of the way, let's…read moretalk about what they did well and how they can improve. The reviews truly praise this place, everyone talks about large portions, exceptional flavor and low prices. That was not our experience. The plate was large, but a very thin layer of food was spread around it. The flavor was also bland. Everything needed salt. The salsas, the rice, the beans and the meat. I think the guacamole was the only item that tasted as expected. Mexico is known for some very rich flavors, so don't remove that from your recipes. Service was friendly, they scored points out of the gate for service and for putting two salsas on the table. I can't take you seriously as a Mexican restaurant if you don't offer multiple salsas. I love a good green salsa, but this one was a bit tangy; I like it when it's infused with heat. The red was near flawless, except it needed a heavy dose of salt as so did the green. Since neither were hot, I asked if they had something hot and the smile on the woman's face let me know, that she knew, that I knew something spicy was on the way. It was thick, it was spicy, and it was exactly what I wanted, except, it needed salt. Unfortunately, since it came in a squeeze bottle, I couldn't add salt, but I put a couple tablespoons in the red salsa and it spiced it up. I had the Carne Asada. At $22, it wasn't cheap and the portion was more in line with what I have seen on lunch plates, The meat was so thin it was more like jerky than steak, and before you ask, it needed salt. Rice and bean were ok, but needed salt and honestly, what I was served could have easily fit on a plate half its size. A couple recent reviews, long time customers commented that this place is not living up to the standards that made them famous, and we drove to this location, because the reviews were more popular than the location further north, which would have been much closer for us. If you are familiar with my reviews, you know I would normally cut into a business for not meeting what I consider to be the minimum bar, but considering the place was near empty, I think they are just trying to hang on. We also had an issue with a couple at the adjacent table. From the minute they entered, they were disruptive. They were grandparents with a 5-year-old. This kid would not stop screaming. Not screaming like a crying baby, but anytime you excite him, he would yell. They gave him a cell phone with Monster Truck videos and the audio was all the way up, so between the obnoxious audio and the yelling it was way too much noise. They didn't appear that bright, so we chose not to engage them, but the server should have said something, they could barely take the order, because it was so loud. Took us a good 45 minutes to get here, it was not worth the drive. It was also not worth the money because portions were not generous or flavorful. The service short of the noise was flawless, but the rest was disappointing.
