    Tortilla grill senorita
    Terry Y.

This is my second time in two days to come back and get the Best Breakfast Burrito I have found in the surrounding communities. I am from SoCal and they have more Mexican Food places than Seattle has Starbucks so when you can get a large, tasty, Breakfast Burrito and they modified it with no meat and with egg whites I was smitten. And then I went to the salsa bar it got even better. They had a Pico de gallo that was the best. So fresh, light on tomato, almost salad like. While waiting I admired how clean the tables, chairs and floors were as the tortillas were being hand made right off the grill. The senorita so meticulously balled up the dough and made each one perfectly and grilled and turned them over so they were perfect for taste, texture and warmth. If food is your love then the tortilla senorita is the beginning of your aroma for romance. Alas, perhaps an once upon a time food story will start with a unexpected visit to El Rincosito.

This will be a short review. Tried this location again and the issues we had the last time were the same this time. Food - bland and greasy and lukewarm. Service - Horrible as in not friendly not welcoming and impatient with customers when trying to make up their minds what to order. Or ignore you when you need help with a bad lukewarm meal. Cleanliness - there were dirty tables all over and we had to clean off our own table because no one would do it from the staff who ignored us. I can say with confidence we will not be back, and will cross this off our list.

Nothing bad to say about this location, I actually have been to the Tacoma location and it is pretty authentic, so crazy to catch a less Hispanic vibe from a chain because of the perceived demo--Puyallup and Tacoma are two different location, whoever designed the layout/lighting definitely did their research!! Haha but besides their name, no real relationship--must be the completely different elbow grease

Love this spot! Been here twice and I can't believe this spot has been around 25 years and this is my first time. It's order at the counter and sit down. The cashiers are not overly friendly but not mean at all, just very businesslike. The atmosphere is pretty and the food is yummy!! I don't care for the prices...I think they could be lowered. Overall a great spot.

El Rinconsito here in Puyallup is deliciously Amazing! It's become my Sunday go-to for their Pollo Asado. They do a great dark sear on the chicken so it's fork-tender on the inside. I have to fight my kitty Leo for it ‍. Rice is always nice and fluffy. Yesenia and Ingrid taking orders at the counter are always friendly and attentive. Luis working the grill - I've never seen anyone work meat on and off the grill so fast! Sundays are busy, so they know the importance of efficiency. Helena - your managers have hired and trained a great staff - which I know takes a lot of effort and follow-up. Great Job! And Leo agrees - he gives Puyallup El Rinconsito 4 Paws Up!! - Michelle W, Puyallup WA

Ordered to go today. Carne asada medium well with flour tortillas. A little disappointed because it's a hit or miss when ordering to go. Didn't get my flour tortillas. Called to let them know, no one answered. Execution for online and to go orders need to be better managed with a system that creates 100% on accuracy of orders. Food was ok. I normally love their food but it was a miss today plus not eating my beans and rice with tortillas....

    Tacos (pollo and asada)

First timer. Food was tad bit salty for my taste bud but it was really really good!! Restaurant was clean, everyone was very friendly and both tacos and enchiladas were delish! Will definitely be back to try their other dishes!

This is what I pulled from the burrito.

I paid $30 for one burrito on DoorDash. Ate half the burrito and found a hair in it. I am disgusted

My husband and I both got the birria tacos with consome, a side of rice and beans, and guacamole. Everything was packaged up well and was still warm considering it's kind of far from us. Only bummer was that they didn't send along our side of chips & guac. :( The tacos themselves are pretty dang big, and with us each getting two, it was a lot of food. Overall I thought they were really good, but the downside was that we got a lottt of fatty, squishy meat in our tacos which really grosses me out. The parts that weren't super fatty were delicious though!! The consomé was also absolutely fire and I definitely straight up just drank some of it - zero shame. Rice and beans were tasty, but that's hard to mess up. We also really enjoyed the salsas they provided - they both had a good kick that wasn't painful and the flavor was on point. I personally loved the green one the most! Their little food truck setup looks super cute and I definitely want to visit in person to give the tacos a second chance.

Bottom Line Up Front...One star for the cleanliness, easy parking and the thoughtful decor. Steven missed on this one big time. The fact that they didn't have customers when he visited them could have been one of three issues (food quality, poor service, inflated prices). In my case, it was all 3. There were older white folks who saw Steven's article and did mention it to the wait staff. Some of those tables received chips and salsa, most didn't, not sure what goes into their criteria for who gets it and who doesn't. I chitchatted with the wait staff and asked them their specials and what they would want me to tell the Yelpers about them. They wanted me to give the community my honest opinion and said their best sellers are the Quesabirria and ramen (what what?) . Well we decided on neither of those and ordered the $17.95 Chicken Enchilada mole and the $12.90 Chicken Mulitas (each $6.45, staff did not ask if I wanted one or two). To be brutally honest...the Enchiladas were "lean" & dreadful. The mole sauce tasted like mud. The rice and beans was barely palatable (La Preferida from Safeway might have been better!). The Mulitas was ok but not something that I would miss. The red and green salsa from those plastic bottles was salty...as were all of the dishes...saltier... The plates were small, the price tag was hefty, paid extra for mole sauce (this was NOT a side order but something that is supposed to be the core dish sauce), extra for credit card use (3%). Nickel and diming...what next...clean your own table... quarter for restroom use! Of course, none of these upcharges were mentioned or listed anywhere that I could see... Service was just ok...they didn't talk about any specials or drinks...so we didn't order one. And the biggest kicker...no complimentary chips and salsa unlike those other hardworking Mexican joints awaiting your business. There was no hook; all sinker...Somehow, they think of themselves as "Cactus" but lack the basics of competing for your business. I ended up with an upset stomach later that evening.
