My children have been cared for by Dr. Joel and the nurses at Sheridan Pediatrics since the day…read morethey were born. They are currently healthy and thriving at ages 15,17, 19. Dr. Joel and staff always listen and respond in a caring manner. They go out of their way to accommodate you when your child is sick. The small practice allows for a personal experience each visit. Sheridan Peds is a wonderful, loving, and nurturing practice. I feel as though they are part of my family. I wish they could treat my children into adulthood.

He told me he was checking to make sure everything was okay in there-such as herpes. I was young, a virgin, and didn't understand. I haven't been to a doctor since because it brings back these traumatic experiences everytime, and I'm 33 now. Please go into the room with your child wherever you take them. My parents never went in the room with me and stayed in the waiting lobby. I saw him for clinical depression which i still have but I had to see him to get my medicines prescribed. He made my depression far worse from inappropriately touching me in ways I didn't understand doctors aren't supposed to do at the time but felt off about it. I trusted him. I wish i made this review and found him years ago seeing as he is still practicing it hurts my heart to think of the others affected by him. If you have been too and wish to talk-please contact me.

I've been a UBMD patient for 10+ years, and unfortunately the communication has gotten worse over…read moretime. I never received a call back about a work letter I requested months ago, and last year I even ended up leaving two separate appointments because the doctor took over an hour to see me. Recently, I went in for my yearly physical and left feeling frustrated, confused, and honestly shocked by the whole experience. I waited about 45 minutes, saw a student first, and then the doctor spent maybe five minutes with me. During that time she briefly mentioned something called a "Brook program," but didn't explain what it was. At the end of the appointment, she walked me into another room and told Russell (I'm still not sure of his title), right in front of me, that I was "very interested," even though I had no idea what the program even involved. Russell gave a very vague explanation of the program, and when I asked for more details, the only response I received was, "They'll call you to see what you qualify for." I still don't know who "they" are or what the program actually entails. Despite that, he immediately asked if I wanted to sign up for "the whole shabang." I was also told that if I wanted to enroll later, I should text him directly because he blocks incoming calls, which didn't sit right with me at all. What made this even more unsettling is that months ago I received a completely random call saying my doctor had "sent a script" for this exact program- something I had never discussed with anyone. At the time, I genuinely thought it was a scam call because nothing about it made sense. The entire encounter felt less like healthcare and more like someone trying to sell me something. I can't emphasize enough how much it felt like being upsold at a car dealership rather than speaking with medical professionals I've trusted for over a decade. The pressure, the lack of information, and the way I was shuffled around made me seriously question why this program was being pushed so hard. It definitely made me wonder if there is some sort of incentive or partnership tied to it, because nothing about the experience felt patient-centered or transparent. What concerns me most is how easily an older or less tech-savvy patient could be talked into signing up for something they don't understand. If I walked out feeling confused and pressured, I can only imagine how someone more vulnerable might feel. After more than a decade with this practice, this experience made it very clear- it was time for me to switch providers. I went to a new doctor today, and the difference was night and day. I was seen and out within 30 minutes and had a simple, straightforward conversation about my health. No vague programs, no pressure to sign up for anything- just a normal doctor-patient visit. It was honestly a reminder of what healthcare should feel like.

My mom has been seeing Dr Daniel Morelli at UBMD Family Medicine for many years. I accompany to her…read moreto these visits because she is elderly. I have always found Dr Morelli to be a fantastic listener. He is thorough and answers all Mom's and my questions until he is certain we understand. To my recollection, there has never been a long wait while getting in to see the doctor. The waiting room is large and comfortable, but I've never seen more than a couple other people in there. I don't think we've ever waited longer than three minutes ourselves. Once we are taken back to the examination room, the wait is also very short. I was torn between a 4 and a 5, and there are no half stars on Yelp, so just know this is more of a 4.5. The only reason I take a portion away is because until very recently, it's been super difficult to get someone on the phone. We've always had to leave a message, but very recently, I've gotten someone every time I've called. I don't know if that's luck or if they've hired more people or changed some of their practices regarding incoming calls. Just know, you may have to leave a message and wait for a return call. My mom typically would have to drive over to their office to ask whatever question she has or to make an appointment. (Granted, she's 87 and is not only less patient than she used to be, she also struggles with the phone menu. Switching screens on her phone is a foreign idea to her, and she never really knows which number to press even if she somehow accidentally finds the keyboard screen.) Dr. Morelli's staff has also been extremely helpful to me when I've needed it, and shows they truly care about the patients.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of child psychiatrists in Buffalo which would explain why he received a good recommendation and why he only rates 2 stars. I think he simply has TOO many patients to reasonably handle. Does he know medications? Yes. Is he a good doctor for medication management? Sure. If you're looking for a good beside manner, or looking to work with a doctor that knows your name, then keep moving down the list of your insurance carrier's providers. My son has been a patient of Dr. Hashim for 5 years now. He sees the Dr. every 3 months (sometimes more often) and on the months he isn't seen, I still have to call in and speak to the office staff to get prescriptions. After 5 years, Dr. Hashim doesn't know my name or my daughter's name (she was also a patient of his until last year) and I'm sure the only reason he knows my son's name is because it's written on the chart. I have sat in his office and had him confuse my child with someone else. During an insurance review, I requested copies of my son's records and was amazed to find SIGNIFICANTLY inaccurate information in his chart that was clearly related to a completely different patient. Dr. Hashim continues to be the only child psychiatrist in network through our insurance company which is why we continue to see him. Overall, he does a good job as a doctor, just not great with the patient stuff. His accent also makes it hard to understand him.
