Fantastic Chinese near Hudson! The owner, Ling, is so friendly as she treats each and every customer as your server! The wonton soup is full of noodles and pork and really hits the spot! General Tso's Chicken has that sweet and tangy homeade sauce that makes for a great main dish! The egg rolls are nice size, flavorful and go well with their homemade duck sauce. A friend casually mentioned to me that she often goes to a Cantonese/Chinese place in Stow. I was on my day off and asked my husband to hunt down this restaurant . We got there a clean, nice room and immediately got service. Ordered the Shrimp MuShu. Also soup and an egg roll. OH MY was just like the wonderful family place where the food is stellar. Huge portions , reasonable prices. The food is really that good. I will be going back there always. Friendly owner and the lovely woman.who greeted us. If you patronize this restaurant you will not be disappointed. I so missed good Cantonese and am actually elated my friend recommended TONG TONG. This used to be my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant of all time, I no longer live in Ohio and was so excited when I was in town and was able to stop back in here. I was so beyond disappointed to see how this place has changed. It's under new ownership and what a gigantic mistake that was. It doesn't even feel like a restaurant anymore - more like they just focus on to go orders. There was just one other table, and then two people at the cash register focusing on to go orders...after about 10 minutes one of them got the drink order for the other table and totally ignored our table. Sat for another 10 minutes and gave up and walked out. I will never be back and I am so sad that this place has gone so downhill. read more

This place use to be so good. It was our favorite place to get good quality Asian food. Unfortunately, the last couple of times we've had it, it has not been very good. Tonight we ordered wonton soup which my husband said was bland and I ordered the Kung Pao chicken and fried rice. I received a takeout box which was overflowing but when I opened it, it was almost all fried rice with a couple pieces of chicken and bean sprouts. Nothing else. It was the most boring food I think I've ever eaten. The chicken tasted like it was just a chicken breast, no sauce, no marinade, nothjng. I covered it in sriracha and chili pepper flakes to give it some flavor. Sadly, I don't think we'll be back. read more

I had the Tong Tong special, had vegetables, beef, chicken, and shrimp with a thin brown sauce, had a good taste, also had the fried rice with pork that could use a little more flavor. Never say never? Three years later and as a matter of convenience, we once again ordered takeout from Tong Tong while visiting Headtrip Brewery. I got the Orange Chicken combo and my wife got the Chicken Lo Mein. The food was much better this time. My chicken was cooked just right and wasn't swimming in sauce. The egg roll was tasty. The soup was cold, We had no shrimp chips or chinese noodles with our soup, which was a little bit bigger than the size of a tea cup,for which was 2 dollars and fifty cents. There were no condiments on the table.We were only given 2 small packets of sweet-and-sour sauce, we had no ice in our beverages. We each were given only one napkin he never checked on us once our food was served. I had to ring the bell at the desk several times for the man to come out of the kitchen to pay our bill. This has been around for a long time. We started going there in the days of David and Penny. Terrific service. Menu to please everyone from meat eaters to vegetarians. Ample portions with plenty to share. I really like the general's chicken as it's not overly breaded. The service is always great. To-go orders have great consistency. Rarely do we have an error. This used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant. However the quality and service has gone down so low. I would give zero stars if I could. I ordered pepper steak and my first bite was so disgusting I spit it out. I had my dad who is a butcher try the meat. He said it was beef tongue. That was not what I was expecting when I order steak. More like 2.5 stars. Several pieces of shrimp had not been cleaned/deveined, which is lazy and gross. But what makes me update my review is one of the managers talked on her cellphone in the dining room during my entire meal, apparently trying to find a new health care plan for her family. We have been coming here for nearly 30 years. I had heard they were under new ownership. The food was awful! Such a disappointment. The sweet and sour sauce was thin, tasteless, and something like out of a bottle. No pineapple or carrot chunks in it. The egg rolls were dry and has some sort of weird ground meat in them. I love this restaurant! I've been here twice in the last week. I had pork egg foo young last week. Probably the best I've ever had. Today I had cashew chicken and won ton soup. The cashew chicken had lots of chicken and a wonderful array of vegetables that were cooked perfectly. My sisters had General Tso Chicken and chicken chow mein. We all had very good , tasty meals. On the family dinner for two, the spare ribs that came with it we're like biting into charcoal. Also ordered crab rangoon which used to be the best around, and now they used a heavy rappers which makes sound like everybody else. I work right around the corner and honestly I am always pleased with the quality and taste of the food. I get a variety of items, and I don't think I've had a bad meal. My favorite is either the Sweet and Sour Pork, or Pork Sub Gum. Though the Orange Chicken is great too. Seriously...not a bad place at all. Sadly we were disappointed. They packed all of our entrees with sauces separately. Now I don't mind this when I request it, but seriously, should their bags read "some assembly required?". Basically we received fried chicken, and we're given the various sauces to assemble our own. My wife, sweet n sour, myself sesame chicken. YAY, I finally found my Chinese food in Ohio! I previously lived in Philadelphia where the selection for Chinese food was quite abundant, and once we found our favorite place we stuck to it for the next 8 years and didn't eat anywhere else. When I got to Ohio, I found that I was having difficulties finding any Chinese places, let alone any places that made good food. Then I noticed that we'd been somehow blind to the fact that Tong Tong was right down the road from our usual grocery store and it was all over from there. We went into the little building in the strip mall and picked up take out menus to pour over. The prices seemed a bit high, so we decided if we were going to be overspending anyway, we may as well just sit down and dine in. Service was very quick and efficient. Our drinks were refilled every time before we could even think of finishing them. We both got a veggie egg roll, which was light and crispy and tasted faintly of ginger. Then our entrees came. My boyfriend stupidly ordered something he didn't always like no matter where he got it (Mongolian beef), and he ended up having to order a separate plate of steamed white rice since it only came with fried rice, but that came in about 30 seconds when he ordered it. I got my usual chicken fried rice with extra bean sprouts, and it was perfect.... I hate to admit it, but it was possibly better than my Philadelphia favorite. (Sorry, Golden Chopstick) The rice was perfectly flavorful, the egg and scallions were cut small and scattered wonderfully throughout, the chicken was actually recognizable as chicken and in big chunks throughout, and when I asked for extra bean sprouts, I got them in droves. SO tasty, I'm stuffed. I also got a side of steamed "pea pods" which is a little cup of snow peas which were perfectly steamed, still crispy and bright green, and definitely enough for me to justify paying for $2 for them. Tonight we drove 45 min to enjoy our favorites and had the family dinners, generous helpings of entrees- beef and broccoli and sweet and sour chicken, with all the Family Dinner add ons of delicious hot Won Ton soup, fresh Pork Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoon, Pork Fried Rice and enormous servings of the entrees, topped off with Rainbow I e Cream, with hot tea. BAD QUALITY FOOD...GAVE US FOOD POISONING. STEER CLEAR!!! I don't know how people are saying such good things about Tong Tong. Or may be my husband and I are just plain unlucky. My husband and I went to Tong Tong on Monday, Feb. 3, at around 8:00 p.m and honestly I didn't want to enter as there was not a soul in sight. I am always wary of empty restaurants, but since we were very hungry and had no other option, we went to Tong Tong. We ordered some shrimp wontons - in which the shrimps had not been de-veined, Singapore noodles with eggs, shrimps and sprouts - again shrimps that were not de-veined and some pork pot stickers which had an extremely thick wrap of flour. Anyone who has had authentic pot stickers will know that the thinner the dough wrap is the better pot sticker it is. The food was absolutely disappointing and the prices were too high. That however was just the beginning of our Tong Tong nightmare. 24 hours after we ate at Tong Tong both my husband and I are down with food poisoning. We have both been to the washroom THRICE each and have been feeling very very ill and fatigued and dehydrated. We are very very disappointed. Considering Chinese cuisine is one of our favorites, and we have had Chinese food in some highly renowned restaurants - we were completely let down by Tong Tong. I will never recommend Tong Tong Chinese restaurant to anyone. Please do yourself a favor and do not eat at Tong Tong. read more

We started going to Tong-Tong's in 1988 but when we moved from Stow it fell off our list of Saturday date night restaurants. We went back last night and the food is still as good as it was way back when. They no longer have a liquor license so even though we were planning on having a glass of wine, it was no big deal. I had moo goo gai pan and my hubby had General Tao's chicken. Both were very good and we'll put this back on our rotation of restaurants. This place has some of the better Chinese food I've found in the area. They are not an "authentic" Chinese restaurant such as Wonton Gourmet, but they make many of their own sauces and their vegetables are fresh. I have been getting the chicken and green beans lately and it is very good. The hot and sour soup could have more bite, and the fried rice is a little bland, but the egg rolls are great and so are the fried entrees, like sweet and sour chicken.
