My friend recommended me to them and they had great experience as well! They were very fast in getting me a quote and I was surprised on the quote they gave me. It was much cheaper than others. The day of the move went so smooth. They had the right equipment to carry my valuable things, they were very gentle with my stuff, and they communicated so well!! James and Mike arrived a few minutes ahead of the scheduled time, made a quick assessment of everything we were moving and proceeded to load everything efficiently and securely. The truck seemed well maintained and they had a ton of blankets to use on the floor and around the furniture. We met them at the apartment and they used the alley to unload the truck given the busy main road (Chicago Ave). They had to navigate four flights (the alley is one level below street level) of tight and steep stairs (old brownstone, no elevator) to the apartment and found creative solutions for tricky corners. They put the pieces back together that were disassembled for travel (recliner, bed frame). James is not a big guy but handled this job in an extremely capable manner; he's strong and obviously very experienced at moving. Mike was very agreeable and they worked well together as a team. The move took 2 hours and 15 minutes total. The clock stopped when everything was in the apartment. They charge in 15 minute intervals and the pricing seemed fair given the difficulty. The charge was $330 including tax. The website lists the cost for two men and a truck at $135/hr. I was surprised that I had to pay at the end of the move in cash or check; I assumed I would be billed later and could pay with a credit card. Glad I had one check in my wallet. We absolutely could not have done this by ourselves even using my son's friends. The expertise needed would've been beyond us and no doubt it would've taken twice as long with damage to the furniture, the building, and us!

I don't rent very often and when I do it is usually a truck for moving. I was in between…read moreapartments and had to rent a truck twice, once to move from apartment to storage and another time to move from storage to apartment...You get the idea. My first experience here was really easy, the truck was $39.99 + Tax and suited all my needs. There was some confusion over my method of payment, they authorize a card for $250 for deposit then you get charged after the rental is returned for whatever the cost is plus mileage, gas, etc. The $250 then gets put back on your card, well in my case they accidentally charged my card, luckily they were able to refund it and there was really no harm done. My second experience was just as easy, I asked for the same thing I had a month ago and there was no questions asked. Once I payed I notice the rate is suddenly $49.99 + Tax. There is no price listing I can find on the web site and when I asked about the change I was told they just moved their rates on the 1st of the month. Seemed a little fishy to me especially since it was May 1st and I was specific in asking for the same thing I just had less than 30 days ago. I would think at the time i was filling out paper work before actually renting the truck someone would have mentioned, "Hey, by the way our rates changed starting this month and it is different from your last rental". I didn't really feel valued as a customer who came back twice in a month to rent equipment and was a little upset I wasn't informed about the change in price. I guess I will stick to my normal process for renting when I need to...Cheapest Option Wins.

The reason I'm giving them two stars is because my stuff mostly ended up in my new place minus one…read moreitem that was broken during the move. There were a few things that were not great about this move and collectively makes me not recommend them. 1) They were an hour late and didn't call. I had to call them to see if they were still coming. 2) They brought to small of a truck and seem to think that I had too much stuff for a one bedroom. We had to take two trips and they try to charge me for the exccess time on the highway plus their members breaks. When I brought it up the mover said "oh yeah I forgot." I heard this quite a lot later. 3) I was quoted 3 to 5 hours in email for my job. They tried to charge me for 9, including the above. When I brought up that I was quoted 3-5 hours they told me they would have never quoted me that even though it was provided to me in writing. I told them how much furniture and clothing I had when I called to quote so it shouldn't have been a surprise for this or the truck size. 4) My bathroom cabinet was broken in the move. I didn't love it so I wasn't sad about it. The mover said that I would get reimbursed for this. He, again, forgot when I initially got the total at the end of the move and I had to remind them a couple times to ensure I got reimbursed. I did eventually get reimbursed for it. 5) I asked the movers, as I was leaving my apartment, to meet them at the house if they wanted me to stay until they had packed everything up. They said no, that I could go ahead and they would meet me down at my house. When I came back to the apartment later that night they actually left a headboard and footboard in the hallway that didn't make it on the truck. Again he said he "forgot" the item in the hallway. When I called the next day they did send the same movers out to pick it up and were going to coordinate with me to drop it off later that day. No one ever called and I had to call them the coordinate for delivery the following day. If this place could get it together it could be decent but for now I wouldn't recommend them.

I rented a grill for our annual barbecue at work. Everything went smoothly, from ordering to return…read morepick up. The grill arrived right on time and was setup quickly. We did run into a bit of a snafu with firing it up, only because we'd not used one like this before. I called the shop and was walked through how to get it going. I appreciated the guy on the phone not speaking to me like I was a moron. The grill got hot quickly and didn't quit. We cooked burgers for 2.5 hours. The pick up was great the next day, too. Everything went off without a hitch, and I know where I'll get the grill again for next year.

Rented a DeWalt impact wrench from them. Called earlier if they had one in stock to rent and they…read moretold me they had a corded DeWalt one available with "345ft lb of torque". Pick it up from them, (35$ for a full day!), and the condition of it was awful. I inspected it visually before renting and gave them the benefit of doubt that it just looks a little beat up as it is a rental. But I get home, plug it into the wall and this "beauty" produces half of the torque my handheld, battery, compact DeWalt impact does. Not to mention that Pin Detent on the anvil of the corded impact was completely pressed in so you couldn't even properly lock an impact socket on the dang thing first and last time I'll be coming here, wish I took pics and vids of the tool performance because it was hilarious. No idea why they rent tools that don't perform as they should and leave it to the customer to find out after spending money renting the equipment!

Revising my review because over the months since I went to the trouble of moving to this location…read morefrom another stupid, overpriced big-chain storage locker company, they have gradually increased the rate to match what the other location was charging me. Furthermore, I'm on the upper level of this two-story facility, and the elevator only works about a third of the time. This is a clean facility, probably because it's kind of new. And if you get a space on the bottom level, you won't have to worry about the elevator. But I would advise against getting an upper-level space here unless you don't think you'll need the elevator.

Although their entry price may be good, plan on the price continuing to rise almost every 2 months…read moreor so. You may or may not get notified of the price change. This is where the late fees begin to add up. All with no notice. Save all communications with them, as they seem to not get all messages. If you need fast, this may be ok, but if you are looking for long term storage, really look at the pricing. If you tell them you are leaving because of price, they offer to lower it to stay. It was a little suspect when they told me I just need to attempt to cancel in order to lower the price.

By far, the WORST customer service I've seriously ever encountered. I would highly, highly encourage anyone seeking to rent a pod to hire another company. I seriously doubted whether we would have our belongings when we moved into our new house. The drivers seemed equally intimidated by the owner Dirk Stevens. If you're smart, you'll rent from another company like Uhaul or Pods.

Because it's first come first served there was a little wait but luckily they got me in before they closed. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful and there is even entertainment there with, the shop dog! I feel very lucky to have broken down near this shop. And now, I will only use this shop for my auto needs.
