Rented a DeWalt impact wrench from them. Called earlier if they had one in stock to rent and they told me they had a corded DeWalt one available with "345ft lb of torque". Pick it up from them, (35$ for a full day!), and the condition of it was awful. I inspected it visually before renting and gave them the benefit of doubt that it just looks a little beat up as it is a rental. But I get home, plug it into the wall and this "beauty" produces half of the torque my handheld, battery, compact DeWalt impact does. Not to mention that Pin Detent on the anvil of the corded impact was completely pressed in so you couldn't even properly lock an impact socket on the dang thing first and last time I'll be coming here, wish I took pics and vids of the tool performance because it was hilarious. No idea why they rent tools that don't perform as they should and leave it to the customer to find out after spending money renting the equipment! read more

I rented a grill for our annual barbecue at work. Everything went smoothly, from ordering to return pick up. The grill arrived right on time and was setup quickly. We did run into a bit of a snafu with firing it up, only because we'd not used one like this before. I called the shop and was walked through how to get it going. I appreciated the guy on the phone not speaking to me like I was a moron. The grill got hot quickly and didn't quit. We cooked burgers for 2.5 hours. The pick up was great the next day, too. Everything went off without a hitch, and I know where I'll get the grill again for next year. read more

I hate giving out one star reviews, but this place earned it ten times over. - they weren't open when they said they would be, so we had to wait for them to open - our reservation seemed to have gotten lost in their system - the first trailer we were given was broken (wouldn't lock, broken door, etc...) - the second (replacement) trailer was NOT water-tight/safe from the elements - their customer service was extremely lacking - no discount was offered for the faulty trailer we were given Save your money, time, and hassle, and go elsewhere. read more

I have rented from this place many times and have bought quite a few new Stihl tools from them as well. Rentals have been anything from leveling sod rollers that you fill with water, to bobcats, trailers, powered brooms, and trenchers. The bobcat is why I'm posting this review though. I have rented trailers and bobcats from them before with the same vehicle I brought this time, but today the gentleman said "the vehicle is too small I won't rent to you." And walked away. That is a quote as well. The vehicle in question is rated to tow 9,000 pounds and as I said, we have rented the same exact equipment from this place in the past with no issues. Would not recommend bringing your business here. There's better, more reliable rental places out there with MUCH better staff. This will be the last time this place receives my business. read more

Wow, I am surprised at the rather negative reviews. My experience was quite different! I scheduled the rental of a car trailer. After arriving, the guy behind the counter was very courteous and made several good suggestions. He walked out to the trailer with me, assisted in connecting the trailer with the truck, had suggestions concerning loading and tying down the vehicle. It was a very good experience and I would not hesitate to return to rent other items. read more

In my one experience with these guys they had the equipment I asked for, explained (briefly) how it worked, and the equipment worked the way it was supposed to. The pricing was fair, though the only options were renting for 3 hours or 24 hours. I'd have liked to see something in between. However there was zero effort made from a customer service perspective. If they were any less interested in creating a pleasant experience they'd have to be actively rude. As it was they were simply passively disinterested in simple politeness or normal human conversational conventions. If you don't walk in carrying a 5 gallon bucket of testosterone in each hand you're probably going to be intimidated. So, did they provide the equipment I needed when I needed it and at a fair price? Yep. But I'm not really looking forward to going back. If you can find a rental place where they don't give a heaving sigh before managing to bark out "Who's next?" when it's your turn to be served, you might decide to go that direction. read more

I'm sorry, but the guys in the equipment rental shop are NOT easy to work with at all. I would avoid this place if at all possible. They treated me rudely when I called to inquire about a van rental: I was trying to arrange transport for some party equipment we rented and they acted like I was asking for their first born. I'm not sure why they feel the sense of entitlement but there are more choices around town. This wasn't the first time I have dealt with them and I will make it a point for it to be the last. read more

This place is great. They always have the equipment I need, and the prices are pretty dang good--as good or better than anyone else. If I don't know how something works, they explain it. It's hard to find people who actually know what they're talking about with this stuff. I've rented from A to Z five or six times and have never had any problems. I called twice for pricing and made a reservation on the second call -- the price wasn't honored and there was no reservation. They added extra parts that had extra charges and a surprise damage wavier charge. When I very politely complained, the owner's response was, "That's how we do business, and that's all we are going to do for you and hung up." I've rented from these guys a few times, with many years in between, because of convenience -- never a good experience. I'm always amazed they are still in business. I usually "hold my nose," expecting it to be another unpleasant experience when I rent from these jerks -- they've never failed to live down, to their rotten reputation. read more

I agree completely with Rob. My dad has rented tools from these guys for years and I have rented tools twice. I would sometimes go along with my dad and it seems like this place has slid big time. I am not sure if I just got a guy on a bad day, but after reading Rob's review I don't think so. The guy helping get the tool on the trailer and show me how to operate it was amicable, but the guy who checked me out at the register was a major DB. He was a shorter heavy set guy with blond short hair and wearing a Vikings cap. He was actually rude to me. I told him I had a reservation and he glared at me. He then just blurted out what was it for and acted like my presence was completely ruining his morning. I may give them another shot, but I am thinking of trying out another rental center. Heck, maybe renting from Home Depot will be better. Too bad, because I actually need a auger this weekend and don't think they will get my business. In fairness, when I returned the tool another guy helped me and he was pleasant. Also, the machine I rented worked well and had no issues with it. P.S. I just called Home Depot for the 2 man auger. Down side is you can't reserve tools, but a all day rental was $82. All day from A to Z was $125. Also, the guy I talked with at home depot was very nice. I try and do business with local small stores, but A to Z blew their shot. read more

First off let me start by saying that this is my first online review EVER. I have been a customer of A-Z for years. I recently rented a tub saw and boy, what a kick in the pants. While they have never been very polite (that is being kind), I have not been this disrespected in a customer interaction. When I picked up the saw the guys working there could barely communicate verbally. I got no explanation of how it worked (not that I needed it) and no one from A-Z checked to be sure everything was working properly or that all the necessary parts were there. Got home and was going to fill up the tub and no plug. Ten minutes of tearing thru my garage and I have the hole plugged. Fill it up and the tub leaks like crazy. Fire up the saw and the blade is 1/2" out of true. 30 minutes of truing and get the first tile ready and what now? The gaurd for the blade is so badly bent it won't clear the blade. Since my wife was out and about I called and explained the situation and that my wife would be stopping by to get another saw and we would return the defective one as soon as possible. Well, it's now over 2 hours of futsing around with the tub saw and my tile guy has other things to do so be takes off. Before I could return the saw I had to clean up the job site, load up 2 saws, wait for my wife to return to watch our kids - so it's not until 3 hours after the second saw was picked up that I return both saws (both unused). My project on hold and my day wasted I was pretty down when I returned. I waited in silence for my receipts to be printed only to be handed an invoice for $75. They were charging me a one day rental! When I asked "why" I nearly got beaten up for questioning the person. And I am pretty sure my tone was pretty civil when I asked "why"! So I reminded this fellow that I never used either saw, I am a regular customer, spend tons of money there every year, am a neighbor and fellow business owner (apparently the person I was working with was half owner). He really didn't care and continued the verbal assault and made some analogies to 'what if' scenarios in my business. He continued to chew my butt as I walked out the door so the other customer waiting could get a glimpse of what great customer service awaited him. I site hear and read all you big crybaby complaints. i have dealt with this company for 15 years on and off we are in the tree, landscaping,and construction business I have had nothing but good luck, good equipment and very good service!!! yes i had to wait my turn a few times but i'm not at Menards eather.if all you have to do is take the time to give this hard working crew and small company a bad review because your to stupid to operate the machine or just want something for free. I guessing you just want something for free.. just remember my time is just as important as yours.
