TERRIBLE, Barber is the most unfriendly guy I've ever met, did not even say hello when I walked in, kind of grunted to get into the chair, and I was extremely unhappy with the haircuts. He was on the phone half the time while cutting my hair. The barber did not use any product on my hair. The entire haircut took less than 7 minutes. The shop itself is very dirty with hair everywhere it is old and in deep deep need of a facelift. They only take Cash, makes you think if he is legit? Update- I've been coming for a a while now. While Jeff give nice buzz cuts, he is never there. He is closed at 4pm on a Thursday afternoon when his sign says 5:30. Happened to me a couple of times. I just came today and he is closed at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. I guess he doesn't need the business. I'm done with this place. I'll pay 5 bucks more for a barbershop that's is reliable. Not only did he not give me the haircut that I asked for, he reused the white neck cover thing from the previous client. Disgusting. Then, when I paid him and didnt want to tip him, he told a Korean client that just walked in that I was a piece of shit in Korean. Overall: Good haircut for a Great price! Cut: It is always hard to find a good barber shop in a new area. Most of them don't know what they are doing and are filled with fake reviews from friends and family. You know this place is different when you walk in. I liked their no fluff style. They don't over charge and ask $40 for a men's cut or ask you to make an appointment that they can't keep. I had called at least 20 places in the area before arriving at this place. I showed the barber a picture of what I want. He told me that it will take 30 minutes so I should feed the meter. And he got right on it. He even suggested things I should do to make the picture suit get to my face, and different ways of styling it. Price: $15 for a cut, when others are charging $40! I gave him $20 including the tip and walked out very happy. I'll definitely come here again. read more

As the quality remains the same, however, the personality or the approach of the barber towards his clients seems to have changed (at least on my part). After years of being with this barbershop, it appears that he is getting impatient. I got my haircut usually every few months and travel more than ten miles to go here (even though there is one two blocks away from me) and I am very busy as always. I was told that my hair required a special haircut even though my hair is already thinning (thinner than my patience) and my hair is not stiff enough. Therefore, may be easier to cut. I was not aware that he could sanction when I should go to him. My hair is not as complex as Rapunzel. The tone of his voice was not a concern for my hair but more of irritation. I am going to give him one more chance. I am not going to give a conclusion but a subjective analysis: either I should go to him more often for him (for you know why) or as aforementioned, he is getting impatient. I have been using this place for a while and then stopped. The hair cut was okay, the place very impersonal, sort of robotic. And then I returned. Without seeing any signs or visible price list I was surprised to be charged $20 instead of $16. When I was charged $16 I always gave him $20. But having been caught by surprise, I gave him the $20 and then he asked me, "what about my tip ?" , a tip for the owner ? no self respect ? I shall never return to this place. Very rare that I'll review a barber shop. I mostly just take lots of food pics. So happy I found Jeff, a pro at his trade, at this old school type shop. He is so meticulous with his work. A true perfectionist. He was able to fix my last couple horrible cuts and give me what could possibly be my best cut ever. I tried so many other local barber shops and none really worked out. I got a really good haircut for $15 and service was good. The shave was terrible. He was scraping at my face roughly, no finess, and left cuts all over. He acted nonchalantly about it. The stylists are friendly. The woman more so. I did not like the fact that it is walking only, though I was seated pretty quickly. Hands down, best haircut Ive had. If you're like me and dont want to drop loads of money on a haircut, but still want to present yourself well, this is the place to come. The barber here provides a cut that definitely seems like it should cost way more than the 14 dollars he charged (includes shave, styling as well). Except for a few really good travel experiences which I've posted about on TripAdvisor.com, I've never written an online review before (until yesterday when I posted this same review on Google). That said, yesterday I got home from a haircut at Tony Barbershop "Under New Management" (728 Anderson Ave Cliffside Park) and am not happy about the experience. Now reading some of the other reviews I'm wondering if I was in the same establishment as the others or how legitimate some of the reviews really are. My regular barber is away for a month on vacation and my hair was starting to get a little long. I live in town and like to support the local businesses so I thought that I'd give this shop a try. Initially he asked if I wanted the same style (which is essentially just brushed straight back) and I said yes. He asked if I wanted it short and I said no. He said "regular" and I said OK. I ended up with my hair way too short to brush back (in effect I now have bangs). He said that the way my hair grows it has to be cut this way (I've never experienced this with other barbers). He said I should wait about a month for it to grow so that it can be brushed back. He knew what I asked for, and I feel that if he could not have given me what I wanted, he should have told me so right away and I could have tried somewhere else. I was disappointed and ready to live with it, but that's not what has me really upset. I paid the bill and was ready to leave (just planning on never returning). He then said, "Is that all you're going to leave?" I said yes. He said I should leave him a tip and then a woman (who I assume was his wife) jumped in and started to intimidate me. She said that I should tip him and that this is America and I have to tip. I explained that I was not happy with the haircut and that tipping should be something given for extraordinary service and is not an entitlement. I felt that they were just trying to tack a few extra dollars onto the final bill. I will not be returning. I will tell others about this unsettling experience. read more

A customer came in and did not like the service because the barber cut his hair too short. He didn't tip one of the barbers and the owner cursed him out in front of the other customers. I asked for some of the part to be left uncut, but I knew he messed up because he kept cutting it shorter and shorter. While I am was getting my hair cut, the owner kept telling me how he needs to raise the prices because it was too much work. Overall bad service and bad cut. read more

I've never been to this place before. This is under new management since 2017. The fellow giving me my haircut was quite taken with his "talent" or so he kept reminding me. I gave him some instructions about what I wanted and he kept saying "don't worry, trust me, I've been doing this for years". He asked me what size electric trimmer he should use. What? Like I should know what he should use. He then showed me the electric blade size. I told him I didn't intend to become a barber so the blade size was not important. Anyway, things like this kept coming up during my haircut. At the end I paid him the amount shown which was $20. He was taken aback that I didn't give him more. I told him that as the owner and not an employee the $20 (which is enough in my mind for a local ordinary barber) that it's this amount that I want to pay. He continued to stare at me and I informed him that it was extremely bad manners and rude to try and coerce an extra $1 or $2 from me. I began to leave and then as I shut the door he screamed "fu-k you". Folks, I don't care if this haircut came gold-plated, this is one despicable, nasty self involved guy. This small mom-and-pop barbershop is a gem in of itself. It's run by two very nice folks who will take the time to answer any questions /concerns about your haircut while explaining the reasoning behind their logic. They're meticulous with their service and they will not cut your hair in a hurry to rush you out the door and get to the next customer. They add in some Beatles or classical music playing in the background to add to the experience. The cherry on top is the free hot towel at the end. Just be aware that they currently do not take appointments. All in all for the price and service, it's a win win. read more

I've gone to the same barber for the past 10 years in NY but decided to try a new place for the first time and I do not regret it. They accept all walk in customers, take their time in making sure that the customer is happy with their haircut and can't forget to mention the hot towel massage at the end.
