My expectations were fairly low when we ordered from Tony Roni's last weekend, since I knew it was a chain with multiple locations. However, they offer gluten free pizza so it was a good option for our group of varied diets. We ordered a half cheese half pepperoni pizza, a white pizza, two gluten free personal pizzas (cheesesteak & BBQ chicken), and an order of pizza fries. I'll start with the pizza fries, which were decent, but obviously didn't travel that well and the fries were a bit soggy when they arrived (but not their fault!). There was certainly plenty of sauce and cheese on top and they tasted good. The regular crust pizzas were also tasty and slightly surpassed my expectations. I thought we would be getting standard chain restaurant pizza, but these were definitely better than your average joint. Obviously not as good as the many great places around Philly, but very passable. As far as the gluten free pies, I did not try them, but the reviews were overwhelming positive! I guess the bar is probably pretty low for gluten free pizza, but the fact that they offer it as an option for any of their pies is really nice. I think I liked/almost loved Toni Roni's of Havertown. The Internet says they open at 10 AM. I got there at 10:30. They welcomed me but I could tell I was interrupting their morning routine. The food they were putting in the cases looked amazing. The chicken the cook was prepping on the grill looked amazing. The lunch specials are very good. My cheesesteak looked amazing. My first bite was very good but felt soft. The meat was very tender and easy to chew. The roll was light and airy. Ordered a chicken Parm. A pretty standard sandwich. First time eating it here. Upon diving into the sandwich. I was greatly disappointed. There was equivalent of one and a half to maybe two chicken fingers chopped up in the whole sandwich. I basically had a cheese and sauce sandwich. The only highlight was the seeded bread. However I would also argue that the total length of the roll was pushing 10 inches. I would not go back here for a sandwich. read more

We've only had take out from here...the pizza is ok, not the greatest but also not horrible. The cheesesteaks were really good though so it's kind of hit or miss depending on what you are ordering. This place has the look of a franchise and I think because of that some people may overlook it and search for a more modest pizza shop, however I must say that their pizza is very tasty and the prices aren't bad at all. I ordered a cheese hoagie on seeded roll ($12). When I opened the wrapper I saw the hoagie was upside down. I turned it over and the entire contents except the cheese fell out. This was probably because the roll itself felt and tasted several days old. Management insisted rolls were delivered daily, nonetheless, my roll was stale and as a longtime and regular customer I should know what to expect. Was I offered a credit or refund? NO! Visited: Monday - February 1, 2016 - 11:45 AM I passed many Tony Roni restaurants throughout the area but, never visited - until today. This location formerly housed Zac's Hamburgers. I was greeted by a cheerful pizza barista (yeh - pizza barista - poetic, ain't it?). She informed me that this location opened on Jan 27. Although "Tony's" menu proudly proclaims "MORE THAN JUST GREAT PIZZA", I was immediately drawn to a slice of the Frank Sinatra - A thin, crispy, crust with "Tony's" tomato pie sauce, fresh mozzarella cheese, and plenty of basil. The cost was under $3.00. The slice was everything promised but, with a slightly burnt underside. Still, it was very good. "Sinatra" only whetted my appetite for another slice of pizza. This time, a Margherita pizza; the Margherita pizza is identically prepared to the Frank Sinatra but in triangular form. The charge was $3.17. The Frank Sinatra portion is squared (Sicilian). The Margherita was good but, was not as flavorful or crispy compared to the Frank Sinatra. When I return, perhaps, I'll try a hoagie, burger, or maybe wings. Extremely disappointed in the heart-shaped pizza that was advertised for Valentine's Day. My family orders from here often and we genuinely enjoy their pizza but this pizza we got tonight was nothing like the pizza we get from here so often. It was so thin and so crispy and not at all enjoyable. They also got my toppings wrong which I won't hold against them because things happen. My husband and I ordered from her last night, and the food was very good. We were grateful they did decide to stay open because so many restaurants have closed. We were also happy to be able to support a local business. However, when I picked up our order the staff was not wearing any protective gear such as gloves or masks. And there was no suggestion or requirement that customers should to enter with caution by wearing protective gear themselves. As a healthcare worker I would caution patrons as what I witnessed last night is a potential major hazard for spreading COVID-19. Please be smart and safe by wearing gloves, masks, and keeping distance. When ordering take-out be aware of the establishments that are following CDC recommendations as you will be less exposed, and therefore keep our community safe. I wish there was a way I could have my calories back from that experience. I ordered the abruzzi, which is a white pizza with veggies, and an order of french fries with cheese wiz. The pizza was soggy from the oil and I could not taste garlic at all. Couldn't tell you what cheeses were used either. Veggies were just thrown on and also drenched in oil. The fries were cold and it was a very small serving. My Fiancé ate the fries so at least I didn't waste my calories on them. Oh and the parking lot was a hot mess. What bugs me is that I ordered 10 wings for 10.29 and show up only to be told it 15 something. Wing shortage because of the pandemic she says. I ordered one large pizza with extra cheese on one half, being a big cheese fan I was expecting it to be the star, however I was disappointed on that taste. Tony Roni's did have an excellent sauce that surprised me. I can see why so many people love their tomato pie. The sauce is a why they are a 4 star restaurant in my opinion. If you are curious about Tony Roni's, I highly recommend to try the tomato pie. Customer service was very nice and considerate of their wait time that can be a little long. First, the Pizza is fantastic. My family really enjoys it and it is around the corner from our house, so we'd love for it to be successful! My experience I had picking up my pizza on Friday was not good customer service at all. I called at 5:44, was told 20 minutes, arrived at 6:05 (20 minutes) to a very busy atmosphere, paid and waited. And waited. And waited. Asked an employee about my order who snapped back that it would be a while. Another very kind employee saw I was waiting awhile and asked me if I had been helped I explained that I was and her co-worker told me it would be a while which I found shocking considering I ordered ahead. She double checked with the snappy employee who then looked at me and said, "As you can see we are really busy here and we're doing the best we can". I told her I get it...don't tell people 20 minutes to pick up then of which she SHOT back at me...we're telling people 45 minutes now. So Toni Roni's of Havertown...I'm sure you know we have lots of Pizza options in Havertown and really good ones with really great customer service. I strongly suggest you get your staff aligned with customer service standards because this town does not tolerate poor customer service, just sayin! read more

Went last night for dinner to splurge on calories. Rather disappointed. Wanted a chicken cheese steak stromboli, was told they didn't make them but I could have a buffalo chicken stromboli (not what I was looking for at all). You offer the cheese steak stroboli and clearly have the ingredients for what I was looking for. Can't make adjustments I suppose...stick to the rules type of place. Which is ok in the long run because I asked how the chicken was prepared (chunks of chicken or shaved like the beef) they use chunks of chicken...lazy! So I settled for a cheesesteak. I've had a lot of cheesesteaks in my day. One of the worst ever! Greasy and no flavor. Then to top it off, my fountain soda did not taste right at all. This is a solid pizza place in the area. Love their salads and their Florentine pizza on wheat crust. We tend to get take-out or delivery rather than eat in but the inside is actually nice as well. I just had hoagies grinder, old school Italian with Tony's hoagies dressing. It was good. There is a lot of excellent privately run shops. Mediocre pizza. We have so many local pizza shops in the area that have way better pizza. Also, the menu says they have fresh mushrooms. When I got the pizza home, I noticed the mushrooms were spongy and not fresh like other places. I called them and they guy argued that they were fresh bleached mushrooms and that you can't use fresh mushrooms on a pizza. That's not correct of course. I tried tony ronis April 3 in the evening for the first time. I was surprised at how inexpensive this place is. Three slices for around eight dollars. I had a pepperoni and two white pizzas. Both were real good. Quick and easy. In an out. Friendly service to. I came back Monday April 4. I tried the buffalo chicken pizza this time. Again very good.
