I stopped in mid-afternoon and found parking right on Main Street. (Heads up: the bathroom wasn't working the day I visited.) I ordered my usual cheesesteak with fried onions. The pizza looked very good, but today was all about the steak. I took it to Wissahickon Brewing in East Falls, where I enjoyed their tangerine sour and had two great interactions with bartenders -- both had been to L'angolo, but only for the pizza. I stopped here for a slice of Nonna's Pie and it was amazing. From the ingredients to the crust, it was a joy to eat. The spinach and tomatoes were savory and juicy. I didn't even need a drink with my food! The mozzarella and ricotta were on point. I felt like I was eating something worth a lot more than the asking price. For someone who has sampled mostly downtown pizza, this place is a hidden gem and worth the trip out to Manayunk. There's a big courtyard associated with the pizza shop so lots of outdoor seating is available. Give this place a try if you haven't already. read more

I really want to give you folks five stars, but consistency is key here. The times when I walk in and the slices are fresh, there's someone pleasant at the register, the pizza's warmed perfectly (not heated to cheese-boiling temps nor tepidly soggy), and I stand outside at the window counter and enjoy a slice and the fresh air, I love this place. But sometimes I come by at 11:45 AM on a Saturday and it's closed, like, not a single light on anywhere. And sometimes when it's open, I walk in, and tho there's a guy cooking in the back, there's no at the register, and the guy cooking doesn't look up once to see you, and you wait for like 30/45 seconds but no one comes. Sometimes everything aligns and you're about to choose a slice, but they all look tired and old. So, when this place is on, it's on for real, and I love it. Last month which was (at this moment) October 2023 I ordered 3 things at this place). The only takeoutbitem that was okay -- was the slice of pizza I got. (It had a nice portion of veggies & sausage on it; I don't recall anymore what it was called.) The three garlic knots I ordered -- on a different day definitely weren't special in anyway. They were on the dry side and definitely lacked garlic, which I ALWAYS resent when I order garlic knots anywhere! The order having said all that which I'm pretty much basing my one star rating was the horrible $12.95 tuna sandwich takeout order I had on 10/18/23. Pizzeria L'Angolo has a great patio space. Unfortunately, as it opened around COVID, I never had a chance to try it out. Therefore, this review is purely based on my takeout experiences. If you couldn't figure from the name, they offer a wide selection of pizzas. Like most places, you can order a few standard menu options or create your own. Unlike most places, I think a few of their standard menu items are a bit different (in a good way). My go to is the Capricciosa: Mozzarella, Prosciutto Cotto, Artichokes, Mushrooms, and Kalamata Olives. They don't go cheap on the toppings. The sauce is solid and the crust not too thick not too thin. Beyond Pizza, they have an extensive menu, however, I have stuck with pizza my visits to this point. Staff interactions have been minimal, but friendly. Honestly, I am excited to check out their patio and enjoy more of their pizza. read more

I've probably ordered about 5 pizzas within the last two months brocade my stove is being replaced. They do have the best pizza deliverable to Mt. Airy so far. It gets three stars because no matter what I ordered the exact same pizza yet it came completely different every time. First time perfect to what was on the menu , second pizza had a completely different style of sausage that I wouldn't have ordered that pizza at all like fake sausage vs. the first sausage was ground and sliced thin. Third pizza had both green and red peppers when the first two never had green peppers on it at all nor was on the pizza in the menu. Fourth pizza had green peppers instead of red peppers as named on the pizza im the menu. If I didn't have a stove I wouldn't have ordered this many pizzas and by sure wounldnt eat a pizza ever with green peppers. read more

They top the pizza with a ton of arugula and I love the mozzarella, prosciutto, figs, goat cheese, and balsamic added to the pizza.
