Italian Garden is nothing but a simple roadside restaurant serving up completely Americanized Italian and Greek foods. What you get here is nothing like what you will find in Italy of Greece. From the outside the place looks run down and in fact is run down. It doesn't at all look like the place you'd want to go into to eat, but once you get inside, it's a different story. It has a rather comfortable décor about it and with what seems a mom & pop friendly type of atmosphere. I think its popularity may most be due to the fact that within the Winnsboro are there are very few restaurants with most of them not very good at all. But to go Five Stars on the place, as some have done, boarders upon the ludicrous. I've eaten here several times, having had there veal parmigiana, eggplant parmigiana and a meat ravioli dish. All the dishes were very much Americanized but I found them all decent enough, though even for a roadside restaurant, I've had far better. But though I've had better, I'm going A-OK Three Stars on the place as it is one of the better places Winnsboro has and because their service was so friendly, pleasant and nice. And one thing for sure is that you can't beat the prices which I found to be exceptionally low. read more

This is a hole in the wall place. They turn out a lot of Food for this small town. Tasty Italian fair, decent prices, it is not much to look at, but it works. Could be a gem, if they spruced up the place. read more

I just want to say that I have never been disappointed with the food here. I have had several different items off of the menu and have loved them all. Service is friendly and food is hot and fresh. The ONLY reason I do not give it a five star is because if the rest room situation. There is only one and not the cleanest. Also, not the nastiest either. read more

This place doesn't look like much from the outside... and doesn't look like much on the inside, either. The facilities definitely could use some remodeling, but don't let that fool you! The NY style pizza is pretty darn good! There aren't a lot of options in Winnsboro when it comes to pizza or really anything in general; when Friday night comes around and all you want at the end of a hard work week is a 6-pack and a cheesy, greasy, tasty pizza, Italian Garden delivers. The amount of people I always see in this place is either a testimony to the rest of the menu, or the lack of options. Based on my pizza experience, I'd lean towards the first option. I have to say that this little Italian restaurant was hopping tonight! And...man, were they doing a great job! I placed my order over the phone and was quoted a wait time of 15-20 minutes. It was ready in 16 minutes! When I arrived, they offered me a free iced tea while I waited for the food to be packaged. The restaurant was 75% full and the customers were coming in in waves to pick up to-go orders! I have been here several times so I knew exactly what I wanted!:) I ordered the Greek grilled chicken salad which is prepared fresh with a huge, marinated, sliced and grilled chicken breast on top. Add the huge block of feta cheese, fresh Pepperoncini peppers, kalamata olives, tomatoes and cucumbers...and the crowning glory are the stuffed grape leaves. I don't know what they are filled with but I could eat a tray of them! I ordered the chicken Parmesan for my husband and it is a generous portion and he gobbled it down! Along with the garlic bread to "sop up" the tomato and cheese sauce at the bottom of the container! The owner was actively engaged in the preparation of the meals as well as making certain that all of his customers were being taken care of in an expedient manner. I cannot say enough positive affirmations regarding the customer service here. It's worth a trip no matter where you live. It's a casual atmosphere. So you'll see retired people chatting over a basket of wings. A family sharing a pizza. Occasional solo diners with Italian hoagies. Everyone is welcomed and no one leaves hungry. Food is really good. The waitress was rude and got the order wrong several times and when I mentioned it, she tells the customer around me that I'm giving her a hard time. I drive my family 45 min to get there to be treated horribly. She defected everything back on me and just got louder and loader so that people were staring. I will never return there and I will stop telling people that it was a great place. read more

A wonderful place to share a new with family! We have been here multiple times and have always had a nice experience. Prices are reasonable and Max and his crew are very accommodating, even to a group of messy and loud kids. The menu is huge. I have had the pizza and stromboli. Both were good. Don't judge the restaurant on the appearance of the exterior or back parking lot....that is pretty horrible. Absolutely delicious meal for a great price. My husband and I loved it so much we ate there two nights in a row. It's really the only restaurant we saw in town but was well worth the drive.
