Driving through town and wanted another sandwich option aside from Subway. Decided to give Tony's a try. We were warmly greeted and placed our order quickly. The woman at the counter was helpful and friendly when I told her I needed a dairy free option. We waited about five minutes which was just long enough to admire the old Coca-Cola relics. We ordered online, picking up was easy, however, I felt sorry for the young lady when she told me they were out of Romaine lettuce, could she substitute it, ok. This was my first time going here (I'm visiting from Seattle) and it was really good! They give a large portion size of avocado when you ask for it on the side. The macaroni salad was pretty cheap and was a nice break in between bites of the sandwich. It is currently open for drive thru and still accepts cash payment. The staff member was also very kind. LOVE Tony's! This has been a staple for us for years now! Just had a French dip from here a few days ago, and it was SO good! Why are the sandwiches so drippy and messy? There's no need. Literally the Tuna sandwich we ordered was dripping as if it wasn't drained, ever, from the can. Hardly any mayo in it and was totally flavorless. No celery, salt or pepper. Nothing. The bread really makes the sandwich but that is not the case here. The bread is not soft, it's too dense, and just plain isn't good, nor the right sandwich bread for subs. My husband ordered the German sausage and again just a mess to eat and completely drippy. If the sandwiches were delicious maybe we'd overlook the mess but trying to enjoy this in the car isn't recommended at all. I ended up tossing the majority of it and stopped at a gas station to wash my filthy, drippy tuna hands. The good thing about the shop was the cute interior decor. The worst sandwich I have ever paid for. My wife and I got two meatball subs on August 4, 2023, at around 4:30 pm for about $28.00. The bread is thick and tasteless, with barely any sauce, and the cheese wasn't even melted...the absolute worst sub ever. I've never bothered to post a negative review before, but seriously, it was that bad. I'll NEVER spend another dollar at Tony's Sub Shop! Solid sub shop with huge subs. A half sub will be more than sufficient for a lunch time visit. They get the four star bump because of the value. Plus anytime a place has a special sauce, they are probably doing something right. If you dine in, there are several sauce options at the tables. I mowed down a Gutt Bomb which needlessly includes all the meats. Wide subs with soft bread give the sandwich style a classic feel. There really isn't too many frills just lettuce, onion, mayo, oil and vinegar. Lots of options were available for sides. The menu is heavy on cold subs, but paninis are also available. The exterior has a cool old town american vibe as well. A sub shop disguised as a old gas station/ shop. Staff was friendly and fast. read more

Great little sub shop in Walla Walla and I'm happy I stumbled upon it. Definitely gives you that small town feel when you walk in. $10 for a foot long cold sub is a little pricey but no complaints on taste and quality of the sandwich - only suggestion is there could've been slightly more lettuce and oil / vinegar but that's my personal preference. Wanted a sub sandwich but something different from your typical Subway chain. Found Tony's on Google. Sent a buddy to pick up four sandwiches and bring them back to our event at Walla Walla High. I ordered the #3 with salami & cotto. No tomatoes. Add mayo & extra oil & vinegar. I like my sub sandwich WET. Dripping! Anyway, when our go to guy got back, he did say the gal taking the orders was very nice. Even said, "You know...I can read your list about as well as you can read it to me!" He smiled and handed it over. My sandwich was...a disappointment. It was made the way I'd requested but for lack of a better term, the meats were just so so. Sub par. Like filler quality. I asked my wife what she thought of hers...ditto. On the flip side, the other two sandwiches were toasted and my companions said they were very good. Great food, and super friendly employees! Has a nice and friendly vibe, sort of like an old gas station or fire station or something. Employees were both really friendly and knowledgeable of the menu, and everything on the menu was very reasonably priced and not too expensive. I ordered the pizza sub, which came with marina sauce, pepperoni, provolone cheese and cheddar cheese. It came warm which was another delicious added bonus. It was incredibly delicious and tasted even better because it was only 6 bucks. 10/10 would go again, unfortunately, I doubt I will ever return to Walla Walla. Killer pizza sub though. read more

First time eating there, and I really liked it , they could put a bit more lettuce on them and add more oil and viniger other than that it was good had the turkey salami and pepperoni , liked that they put on a lot of meat and the bread was fresh and soft, yes I will go back again I will order on my next visit the panini, and the atmosphere was really cool and the workers were very friendly and helpful and it is home town owned which makes it even better read more

On a Sunday, not a lot of food options seem to be open in Walla Walla. But a missed exit led us to drive by Tony's and turn around to swing in and give it a try. Eight of us walked in, ordered, paid and had our food before a Subway employee would have taken care of one of us (trust me, it's painful to watch how slow they are with a big group). Not Tony's!!! Everyone was pleased with their orders, most opted for a grilled warm sub after a long, cold day on the golf course. I had the number one and thought was great. Add the yummy mustard on the table, it's perfect on the cold subs! Also, skip the chips and go for the baked goods. We had a hard time deciding--I wanted to just take the whole case with me! I finally decided on the lemon coconut white chocolate cookie. PERFECT! If only I lived closer...these would be a problem! I can't wait to try and replicate the recipe though, such a good combo I don't think I've seen any where else. Thanks for the wonderful, quick service from the staff--everyone was great and willing to help and accommodate. We will be back on our next trip over! read more

Finally stopped by today and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Not too crowded, REALLY friendly staff, and very clean. There are TONS of options for sandwiches and the staff know what's on them really well. It wasn't the best sub I've ever had, but it was pretty good. Tony's sub shop is especially nice because it is the closest place to eat near my house- so it gets major points (arriving late from airports with no food in the house, you get the picture). I've tried their cold tuna salad sandwich, as well as their hot Italian panini style. Both of them were delicious, but I think the cold sandwiches are a better deal for the money. I am writing this after eating at Tony's on two separate occasions. The first time, I ordered a turkey/salami sub. After the first bite, I wondered why I was finally eating there after living in the Walla Walla area for 28 years. The taste was so good, I may put Subway on the back-burner for a little while. That was one of the best subs ever, plus, the server was very kind and polite. The second occasion, however, wasn't as satisfying. I had the panini, which wasn't prepared very well. The cheese was very runny and the sandwich itself was very greasy. I suppose it being a Sunday and one person was on staff made it that way. The panini still had a good taste. I will still come back, but probably for just the subs. Oh, and the cookies are the bomb! read more
