I had 3 trees near my house that if not take care of would have done damage to my home. I called and made arrangements with Tony's for an estimate. Tony came out and took a tour of my yard. In total I had six trees removed at a very reasonable rate. The crew that came out was very courteous and professional. They wasted no time getting to work. It took six hours to remove all the trees. 4 of them being thirty feet tall or larger. Weather does play a factor. If it rains, he crews can't come out. Tony's office staff is very competent and will keep in touch. Tony will quote you 7-10 days from time of signing contract to when work is performed, but again weather does play a factor. read more

Save your money, this company is the WORST!!! They show up when to get their money, but refuse to return calls. Don't take off work to wait for them to show up, because Tony is a scam artist. He won't show or call, especially if you have a complaint. And if you pay cash, make sure to get a clear receipt, and SAVE it! Because they'll call months later (likely hoping you tossed it) and say you owe a balance. This company sucks. They never communicate. They don't return phone calls. You have to keep bugging them to get anything done. After I finally got them out to take my tree down about 1.5 years ago, I still had to call them to fix the 24 18" by 18" pavers their truck drove over and crushed. You would think they would have said something to me 1st, but no. This took another set of back and forth phone calls and after they fixed the pavers they still were not as straight and even as before (not even close). So they had to do it again. The 2nd time was better, but not as good as original. Of course this time also took many more phone calls. Now 1 1/2 -2 years later I couldn't understand why grass was not growing where the tree was. They only grinded the tree stump down about 1-2' below the surface and covered it up with dirt. I had to dig it up this year to find they did not grind the normal 8-10" to properly grow grass. I finally got them out here 2 months ago and they said I was right, we will be back to grind some more. I am back to trying to reach them again. I did get to talk to one women who stated that they were waiting on the utility company to come out and verify their were no lines underground. But they would have checked that before they cut down the tree the 1st time. Pain in the ass company. I never write reviews, but I didn't want anyone else to go thru this. Tl;dr.... The owner is a fast talking sales guy with no knowledge of trees and has terrible communication skills. Don't expect to have the job completed in a timely fashion. This will likely be the last generation of Tony's Tree Service if my experience is any indication of how they do business. -- Let's go on a tree removal journey, with Tony and his crew. Starts off with Tony showing up late, like hours late, for a tree removal estimate. I figured he wasn't going to show up. Then when he does show up, he can't figure out how to ring the Ring Doorbell and pushes on the camera part (not relevant to the service provided but really speaks towards this guy's awareness level). He's one of those big talkers, has a story and a joke about everything. Typical sales guy, we all know the type. Says how lucky I am that the owner came out to give me a quote. Talks about how 'BIG' his company is and how many 'BIG' trucks he has. Immediately starts in with the "Brother you got a serious problem," "These trees are a real danger" carpenter ants, home damage blah...blah...blah. Check out the photos below. What tree expert would say those are hollowed out? This was just a scare tactic to get the service booked. Notice his website and ads always include something like "don't let this happen to you, insert picture of tree on house."Tony saw huge trees and big money, so said what he needed to say to make a sale. The contract he uses is a standard form contract (it's attached here with private info blacked out). Read it carefully as it basically leaves the customer responsible for any of Tony's potential negligence and fails to establish clear time frames as to when the work will be done. Good luck getting a hold of anyone after they start the work. Takes about 20 calls and a threat of a fraud claim to get a call back, constantly leaving messages with their answering service. (He likely employs an answering service because the only people that work for him are his family and immigrants. All of whom are nice people, but the only ones willing to work for this type of person.) Kind of annoying when your backyard is littered with tree trunks because of their half finished job. Tony, himself, told me the trunks on the lawn would not kill the grass as they sat there because the only thing that could kill grass is acid..... Our contract was signed in September, started the next morning at 8am (less than 12 hours after signed) and finally finished about a week ago. So 7 months to fulfill a contract that took just 12 hours to start, keep in mind they take 95% the day it starts. End of season cash grab? And yes, the trunks did kill the grass. Needless to say I would recommend going somewhere else. Anywhere else. His "large fleet" is more like a junk yard, historical satellite images and street views allude to this. I called Tony's to trim a tree for me. They made an appointment for Friday, 9-20-24 between 4-8 pm. Long story short, they canceled around 7:45 pm on Friday, rescheduled for Monday, same routine. Near the end of the appointment window they call to cancel and rescheduled for Tuesday. Tony's Tree Service took my money and didn't do the work, however, someone falsified business documents and stated that the work was partially done. I've been trying to get Tony to call me back but he has just ignored my calls and texts. The office has done nothing to resolve the issue and get my money back. I have been attempting to get a quote for my property for about two weeks now. After three calls to the business, I received a call back on WED 11/6 to advise someone would be out on THR 11/7 between 4pm and 6pm to provide an estimate. On THR 11/7 I received a call to advise the appointment was actually between 6pm and 8pm. NO ONE CAME TO THE HOUSE FOR THE APPOINTMENT. I called back on FRI 11/8 and the receptionist advised I would receive a call back later that day to reschedule the appointment. Today (TUE 11/12), I have yet to receive a call back. read more

They deleted my previous review which detailed how much of a con artist Tony is. Three years ago he told me all the trees on my property were dead and a hazard to my house. Clearly, that was a lie. This guy will say whatever he needs to in order to increase his price. You have three days to cancel, and he will try to come out immediately after the contract gets signed to avoid the possibility of a cancelation. I was lucky I read the fine print and called back the next day to cancel the ridiculous amount of work he convinced my wife we needed. His sister was the receptionist and was the only bright spot of that experience. She also informed me he was getting ready to send a crew over before we canceled, which would have been around 12 hours after the contract was signed. Tony and his crew did a very good job removing two very large diseased silver maples that were on a very small lot. The matter was an emergency since one of the trees fell upon our garage, Tony gave us his prompt personal attention, visiting the site at 10 pm at night and mobilizing his crew the next morning. The crew he used was efficient and expert. The project was difficult, dangerous and costly. But, Tony did his best to minimize cost and ensure the trees came down without any damage to property or harm to person. I am glad I used Tony's Tree Service.Thank you Tony and crew. read more

If you've read my other post you know how bad Tony's Tree's is. They are still refusing to give me a couple thousand dollar refund saying they completed the work? I don't think so...we still have the tree in the yard with their spray paint on! What I think happened is that they're clever. If you look at the invoice they give you when you first sign the contract, before they even start working, it says "completed to satisfaction". EDIT: Corrected Error While they did cut down my large trees, I still feel the need to advise/warn others about their tactics to get the job. Personally, even though the trees were taken down, I still think I got pressured and fleeced. This is my warning to all: When requesting a quote, DO NOT ALLOW them to show up at night. This is how they pressure you. Daylight only. Twice they did this to me. The next day after signing he came over and said," gee that tree is worse than I thought, it must come down!" Change the contract for a lot of money. This is where I think I got fleeced with his "superior equipment and performance etc etc." When getting my quote, he came up with this mathematical formula about percentages for cutting, dumping, grinding service charges etc. Don't sign anything until he gives you the TOTAL amount! DURING DAYLIGHT ONLY! Don't let his forcible glamor pressure you into signing. If you feel pressured, shove him out the door and you'll call back another time. Not kidding. Don't sign anything unless you have other quotes to back you up. If you don't, he'll take advantage of that and charge you big time. As for calling them? Good luck. They have an answering service [I call it a protective layer] so getting a return call isn't likely until they decide to. I really wouldn't recommend these guys simply based on their tactics. But if you do, make sure you do your home work BEFORE you sign. It's too late afterword. I learned that first hand. I hired this company last year to remove limbs from my tree. Unfortunately, while they did a good job, they didn't complete it - wrapping up their work before consulting with me. Having asked them to come back and remove one more limb they had missed, with a promise to do so, they never came back - even having left multiple messages on their answering machine and in-box. It was exhausting and frustrating. They just didn't care. My advice to you is to do your research carefully. read more

Tony personally came and gave us an estimate after waiting 2 mos. for a call back. He was quick to remind us how big they are, family owned and operated etc...Quick to take the trees down and leave the sticks and logs and debris all over the lawn. After a week, we cleaned it all up and stacked the logs so as to not ruin the lawn. Called several times and no return call. My husband calls and gets "we will be there in the next day or two"...that was over a week ago. Terrible service, terrible communication. 5 1/2 weeks and I still have a pile of logs. We recently had Tony's Tree and Landscaping remove 2 dead ash trees from our front yard. We were very pleased with their work. They were able to set up an appointment within days, and the crew did a great job and were very efficient. Tony was accommodating in keeping within our budget.   The crew came a few days later to do the job. They had an impressive piece of equipment that took care of the trees in short order. It was pretty cool to see them work. They cut down the tree in segments and ground up the branches and then removed the logs within a few hours. We also had them remove the stumps. All in all, they took care of what we needed, and did a great job. read more

Finally after the third call, and over two week later, someone called said they would be at my home on a specific day between two times, and never called or showed. Tony uses high pressure techniques, claiming that he's the only game in town and that you'd have to wait for weeks to get anybody else to do the work. He writes up a contract that you sign but then changes it afterwards. His workers piled up large tree limbs directly on top of a 5' tall bush, ruining it and refusing to replace it. If you drive by his location near the airport you'll notice that his lot has many trucks parked there during business hours. Makes you wonder how he can be so busy that "you'll have to wait 6-8 weeks unless you sign the contract now", if all his trucks are idle...Do yourself a big favor and find another company to deal with, you'll be glad you did! read more

This company has the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen. On June 21st Tony was supposed to come to do an estimate between 10am and Noon. He called at 12:45 and said that I would be his next stop. He showed up at 7pm and seemed fine with that. I let him do the estimate anyway. He bragged about being in business for thirty years and three generations of tree cutting, and that they bought out 9 other tree businesses. He gave me a decent price, and I told him I would let him know. He said that If I made the decision by tomorrow he could do the job that week. I called him the next day to say we could go ahead with it and he was there within an hour to get my deposit. Again, he assured me that it would be done that week as they were already going to be in the area. Needless to say nothing happened that week. I finally called on July 7th to find out what the hold up was. I wasn't in a hurry. The answering service said that someone would get back to me. I called again on July 9th and said that I wanted someone to get back to me that day, as I was getting angry about the whole situation. I did receive a call from a woman in the office that told they would be out to do the job in the early part of the next week. Again, nothing happened. I called on July 20th and left a message with the answering service person, that I was now irate and demanded a call from Tony. I called again on the 22nd to say that if I did not receive a call from Tony in 24 hours that I would be disputing the charge with my credit card company and filing a complaint with the better business bureau. Still no response. On July 24th, I called the credit card company to dispute the charge. They said they would investigate and let me know. Two days later, I get a call from a woman (Angie I think) from their office, telling me that Tony said they would be out tomorrow to do the job. I told her that I was not comfortable doing business with Tony, and I didn't want him on my property. She said OK and that she understood. About an hour later, Tony finally calls me. I said so that's what it takes to get a call from you, disputing the charge? He starts ranting about being in a pandemic, and having only two people in the office instead of the usual 11, and that his crews are so overworked because of all of the dead ash trees. I said " You mean to tell me that in a whole month, nobody could take one minute to call me and let me know that you're really behind and haven't forgotten about me?" He then began yelling at me that I'm not listening and that his people are overworked and in the office till 11pm every night. I said "And in all that time no one would talk to me until I threatened to cancel the charge." He just said that they could be there tomorrow. I told him OK but they better show up. I was surprised when the crew did show up at 8:50am the next morning. I do need to say that the crew did a very good job. They cut everything they were asked to, cleaned everything up and were respectful of the property. My grass is a little trampled, but a lot less than I expected from the huge machines they had to used. The grass will grow back. All in all the crew did a very good job, it's just not worth the lousy customer service and hassle to get to that point read more

This guy and business are just shady. I had ash trees removed last summer from my yard. The owner literally begged me every time we spoke, to leave a good review for him. We spoke multiple times due to the fact it took over a week for his crew to finish my 6 small trees. They left my yard a disaster, their truck damaged my shed and my house, and never told me. Even though this guy was cheaper than others, you get almost what you pay for. If you look at his reviews, you will notice there are 6 reviews and then 30+ reviews deemed not acceptable. This is the worst company I ever encountered. It has been almost 7 months since we made the deposit of the half the cost for trimming the tree in our backyard. The tree is not trimmed and we still do not have our money back. The telephone number they provided on the website is for a so called "message center". Whenever I called the number the person on the other side always said that he/she will leave a message for me and someone will call back. But nobody called back! Not for a single time! I had to call Tony's cellphone directly in order to make any meaningful conversation. When he says he will call me back in a week, or something like that, he never means it. He never calls back. I have to call him again and again to get things done. He broke his promise at least three times, as far as I can remember. Or put it another way: he never kept his promise. He said he will trim the tree in two weeks; nothing happened in two weeks and not even a phone call was made to explain why. This happened three times. What was my neighbor thinking hiring Tony's Tree Service and persuading me to allow them to set foot in my yard when I had already arranged for another tree service on 9/11/19 to cut down my trees and branches for a fair, reasonable amount? I had let myself be taken full advantage of because I had suffered a herniated disc and was not in my right frame of mind. Tony's Tree Service calls themselves "3 generations of green thumbs." Another word that comes to my mind is "rip-off artists!" Tony NEVER even quoted me an estimate prior to charging me an exorbitant amount of money or I would have proceeded to kick him and his equipment out of my yard and to the curb! His tree service hadn't even completed the job that I had asked him to do before Tony ran to the bank and cashed my check before I could stop payment. The purpose of hiring a tree service in the first place was to cut the large tree limb that was hanging over my garage completely down so that it would not destroy my garage in the future. Only branches were cut from the tree limb. The tree service that I initially had hired had to clean up Tony's dirty work and remove the limb. I ended up having to pay an additional amount to make my garage safe. Tony's machinery tore up my lawn in many sections and I had to replant grass adding dirt in the grooves where his machinery sat.
