Tl;dr.... The owner is a fast talking sales guy with no knowledge of trees and has terrible communication skills. Don't expect to have the job completed in a timely fashion. This will likely be the last generation of Tony's Tree Service if my experience is any indication of how they do business. -- Let's go on a tree removal journey, with Tony and his crew. Starts off with Tony showing up late, like hours late, for a tree removal estimate. I figured he wasn't going to show up. Then when he does show up, he can't figure out how to ring the Ring Doorbell and pushes on the camera part (not relevant to the service provided but really speaks towards this guy's awareness level). He's one of those big talkers, has a story and a joke about everything. Typical sales guy, we all know the type. Says how lucky I am that the owner came out to give me a quote. Talks about how 'BIG' his company is and how many 'BIG' trucks he has. Immediately starts in with the "Brother you got a serious problem," "These trees are a real danger" carpenter ants, home damage blah...blah...blah. Check out the photos below. What tree expert would say those are hollowed out? This was just a scare tactic to get the service booked. Notice his website and ads always include something like "don't let this happen to you, insert picture of tree on house."Tony saw huge trees and big money, so said what he needed to say to make a sale. The contract he uses is a standard form contract (it's attached here with private info blacked out). Read it carefully as it basically leaves the customer responsible for any of Tony's potential negligence and fails to establish clear time frames as to when the work will be done. Good luck getting a hold of anyone after they start the work. Takes about 20 calls and a threat of a fraud claim to get a call back, constantly leaving messages with their answering service. (He likely employs an answering service because the only people that work for him are his family and immigrants. All of whom are nice people, but the only ones willing to work for this type of person.) Kind of annoying when your backyard is littered with tree trunks because of their half finished job. Tony, himself, told me the trunks on the lawn would not kill the grass as they sat there because the only thing that could kill grass is acid..... Our contract was signed in September, started the next morning at 8am (less than 12 hours after signed) and finally finished about a week ago. So 7 months to fulfill a contract that took just 12 hours to start, keep in mind they take 95% the day it starts. End of season cash grab? And yes, the trunks did kill the grass. Needless to say I would recommend going somewhere else. Anywhere else. His "large fleet" is more like a junk yard, historical satellite images and street views allude to this. Most of those vehicles sit there until he throws his own parade. Seriously, look at this YouTube video... https://youtu.be/wxkDwGAdBnY Oh I almost forgot to mention, he gives you an ugly green magnet for your fridge.

They took down the trees. Took my money. But left a horrible mess in my yard and garden (see the pics). Impossible to reach Tony once the job starts-he shows right up to do the quotes and take a chunk of the money. I only used him because he was already set up with my neighbors. Think long and hard before hiring.

Watch out for Tony's tree service. He'll tell you everything's dead and cut everything down when it's not. Don't believe him.

Paid in full to cut a tree down he said he would remove the stump. Two months later the stump is still here. Crook do not use or trust.

Tony personally came to my house with his crew and they did an amazing job removing 7 dead Ash and oak trees from my property.

Julie and the other ladies are always so helpful. My daughter-in-law stopped there on Sunday and picked up two pumpkins and a houseplant. The girl who checked us out made sure to educate her the plant (it's of the carnivorous variety, which is new to her, so we really appreciated the info on caring for the plant). Tuesday, she was redeeming her receipt for cash on the Fetch app and noticed she was charged for a Mum we didnt buy. She called and spoke with Meg (I believe) and Meg was great! She said there are times when they use the register for a price check and forget to cancel it out. She apologized a few times and was able to credit her credit card right back, no questions asked. She even sent a confirmation for the reimbursement. Amazing customer service, we're happy to be regular customers!

I was very disappointed in their quality of work and professionalism. In my opinion it was a very bad experience. They were supposed to trim all my bushes and trees. They forgot to trim several of them and the others were done haphazardly. They ripped out flowers that were perennials because they thought they were weeds. Many areas were missing weed barrier, even though it was in the contract. The company admitted that the job needed more mulch, but because they underbid the job and was losing money, they would not provide any more mulch. They also admitted that their workers were new and not properly trained. In my opinion they harassed us for more money because they could not estimate the job properly. The owner continously told us of a toll bill for $1800 he owed to gain our sympathy. The owner assured us that he had arborists working for him but this statement appears to be false looking at the completed project. For snowplowing, they had to be constantly called and asked when they were coming out. The company provided an expired certificate of insurance to trick me into signing a contract. They tried to tell me that a car insurance certificate would be just as good. I have a copy of the car insurance certificate the company gave me. This company has had numerous people complain about their snowplowing service, but they delete all of their negative comments and 1 star reviews off of their social media pages. This company was hired by my elderly neighbor to cut her grass. She is 90 years old and has a hard time seeing and hearing. She paid them a lot of money. They rarely show up to cut her grass. They never even provided her with a receipt for her money or a contract. Her family had to get involved to help her. They refused to bag the grass clippings after they cut my lawn even though the contract stated they would. The grass looked atrocious with all the loose grass on it. The company canceled my contract and wanted to give it to his friend. He was going to pay him a fraction of what I paid him and keep the rest for himself. The pictures submitted with this review is how this company actually left my lawn. When I explained to them that is was unacceptable they proceeded to cancel my grasscutting contract. Most businesses when they get negative reviews they get upset and do everything in their power to have the reviews removed. Instead businesses should look at the negative reviews as a learning tool to improve their business and their employees. People really do not want to put down local businesses but they most certainly do not want to be taken advantage of. In response to the owner's comments: The fictitious accusations that this company has made instead of responding to the actual problems with his company should tell you everything you need to know about who you would be hiring

He told me he had taken another job and might come by later that day or possibly another day. I found this to be very unprofessional. He eventually arrived the next day at 11:00 a.m. The agreement was that the stump would be ground down to lawn level so I could cover it with soil and plant grass. However, he left a large portion of the stump about a foot above ground, making it impossible to seed over it as planned. I told him I would handle cleaning up the wood chips myself, since my neighbor offered to help with his tractor. But when my neighbor saw the stump, he said the job was not done properly and that it was far too high above ground to be seeded. When I called Darren to ask if he would be returning to finish the work, he became extremely aggressive and verbally abusive--calling me a "retarded bitch" and threatening to dump debris in my driveway so I couldn't leave my house. Because of these threats, I had to file a police report and install security cameras. I refused to pay for a job that was clearly incomplete and poorly done. Everyone who has seen the stump agrees it was not properly ground down to lawn level.
