    Outside looking into wine cave.

I will give it three stars for the service. The wine cave is cool. However, I just was not a huge fan of the wine. They give you a lot of tastings, probably too many, but they have a ton of different wines. We missed the rush. I can't imagine how loud it would be in the wine cave if we had not missed the rush. I would not go back, only because the wine was not my favorite, but again staff was great and accomodating.

Like a few others, we were introduced to this winery via Groupon. It's quite a distance from home but our group of 4 turned the trek into a weekend adventure. Living in the city, I breathed in deep the crisp, cool air and took in the budding spring, mountainous view. Definitely appreciated the beautiful location! We arrived for an 11:30am tasting and was quickly greeted by a host who ushered us in to the caves. (Shh, don't tell, but one of our hosts was a friendly feline who seemed to know she was in the midst of cat lovers!) Staff was perfectly balanced between entertaining and professional, and we all felt it was a very enjoyable tasting experience. As for the wines, I have no complaints. There weren't any significant standouts for me other than the Barbera in the futures barrel, working its way towards bottling. The ports were tasty as well. We each chose a bottle to bring home and our winners were the 2017 Zinfandel and 2021 Pinot Noir Rose. All in all, it was a nice introduction to El Dorado County wine tasting. :)

Recently visited for port tasting event. Yummy. They pair all their ports with tasty bites. Hostess was engaging and informative. A fun event with limited seating at each event. It was also time to refill our pony.

What a unique place. Man-made wine cave was awesome. Private area available. Outdoor seating too and separate room for food. Bummer that no food allowed in the cave though. Wines were good, not mind blowing. A little on the expensive side compared to others around. Tri tip sandwich was not very good imo. Dry and chewy. Staff was super nice.

Staff were awesome, helpful and super informative. Quaint little winery outside of Placerville. Beautiful drive. Excellent wine and if you are a fan of ports, I highly recommend. They have over 40 ports. Can't wait to go back. Side note. Bring a snack if there's not a food truck

My daughter recommended we stop here on out wine teasting weekend and I'm so glad we did. We had a great time taking to the staff and sampling so many yummy wines. Their ports are outstanding so much so that we became members! Can't wait for our next visit.

Really enjoyed our experience. We were a group of 4 with a Groupon ($130 for wine tasting for 4 plus a bottle / wine glass each) we got to try wines we've never tried before. Our wine pourers were really sweet. It was a lovely day in the wine cave!

A winery with an incredibly fun staff. Club member and Yelper Michelle H invited some of us to join her at a tasting and her fall member pick up. We were given a choice of patio or cave seating. On the beautiful Nevada Day weekend the patio with waterfall and snack options would have been great, but the cave tour and tasting inside was just as fun. TooGood offered so many choice combinations for a 6 tasting flight. I teamed up with Yelper Debbie P so we could taste 10 different reds. Allow almost two hours if tasting with a small group. It gives you time to savor the tastes, go over so many specials, memberships, and pull your order. Because it was Nevada Day and I was with a member, I scored an INCREDIBLE deal. A mixed case for $211. I chose from all their wines except the two reserves that retail for $125. My selection included $80 Bomb Diggity, $44 Tuscan Tango, and $38 Malbec- the deal made the purchase just under $18 a bottle. Fun wines at fabulous prices. The lane from the main road to the winery is long and narrow, take the drive slow and enjoy the vines. Plenty of parking at the top at the tasting area.

The girls with Tim (aka best sommelier ever)!

Tim let us in for a last minute tasting and was SO accommodating! Always an amazing time here with great experience in a unique wine cave. Amazing family owned business that really cares about its customers! Thanks Tim!

I am in love with this winery!! First off- they have new owners as of Dec 2019 and it's now family ran! They've done so much to improve the place like better staffing, improved policies, and esthetics! So a lot of the prior-to-2020 complaints don't really exist anymore. Everyone is so friendly, you'll always see one of the family owners working, and I've never come across bad service. They have a bunch of unique varietal wines that you won't see at other wineries, have over 38 ports, and the cave is Instagram worthy!

We checked in at the front wine area and then went into the tasting room (which is in a wine cave).

The staff are super friendly and know there wines, and there own product very well.. I tend to always enjoy there Sherriff blend. Ambiance is very relaxing, inside they have a nice setting, with wood, and just relaxing.,.. The outside is not 100% covered how ever, more but allows the sun to somewhat come through, but somewhat shady as well. The patio area is Dog friendly, and they will bring out water for your pooch , no wine for the dogs tho.... lol

We had a great visit at Shadow Ranch for pizza on the patio. We had reservations for 1:30 and when…read morewe got there it wasn't too busy, but pretty soon it was packed up. We tried three different pizzas between us, the pepperoni, the gorgonzola with fig and the daily special, which was hawaiian, though we sub'd pepperoni for ham. We did a gluten free crust for two of them and it was, by far, the best gluten free crust I've had. It was still crispy on the bottom, just like a regular wood-fired pizza. Flavor-wise, the gorgonzola fig was everyone's favorite, by far. The fig, cheese and spicy arugula was just perfect. We held the walnuts. Tracy took care of us and we loved our tasting. Our designated driver was treated to an Arnold Palmer, much better than just his usual bottle of water. I thought their wines were pretty reasonably priced, even for non-members. You need to buy at least $60 worth of wine to waive the $15 tasting price - I appreciate that they put that right at the top of the menu so there's no guessing. The tasting was really generous with good pours so even if we hadn't bought wine I would have felt it was worth it. Tracy took great care of us, answering all our questions and keeping our water and wine glasses filled. It was a wonderful, relaxing day on the beautiful property.
