UPDATE! Within a day I received a call from Rebecca Stephenson at Haverty's Corporate Office! I had…read morea pleasant conversation and sent detailed information about the claim. She went out of her way and went ABOVE and beyond and got the claim overturned by Guardian. I was expecting them order a new middle panel, but a new couch will be delivered on 10/10! She made it a priority to call me before she went out of town to let me know it was approved too. Karin at the Asheville, NC store has also been a delight to work with since the beginning. Thank you Haverty's!!

Over the past 1.5 years, I have shopped several times at this store and have been happy with my…read morepurchases. This latest purchase was not a similar experience. I went in looking for a small coffee table and found one that is glass/metal/wood. It was just the right size and matches the end tables I had bought a year ago. It was a good price, so they suggested that I just pick it up at the store when it arrived instead of paying almost $100 for delivery. In the past, I have had my purchases delivered and they arrive in one piece and are placed where I want them. This latest purchase made my head spin....is this now IKEA??? I arrive and am directed to the back for customer pick-up. The guy loads a box into my car. I bring home about 100 lbs. of coffee table PARTS!!! What??? The instructions say I will need to furnish my own screwdriver, they even have a picture of a good old standard screw driver;...so I go to my toolbox and get one. Part of the assembly ( an hour of IKEA-like hell ) is to screw the wooden panel into the frame. There are no holes or starts of holes in the wood. It would take a young athletic person with a LOT of muscle to put those screws into that thick hardwood panel by hand with a standard screwdriver. Sheesh. I am neither young, nor athletic. The metal pieces that are labeled with letters A, B, C, D are labeled with stickers that don't peel off. I tried soaking them off with a damp towel, but the adhesive is still on there. Can I use acetone or Goo Gone on them?? I have no idea. It could very well ruin the metal. I cannot predict....so I leave them as they are. I get my power screwdriver out and attempt to assemble this coffee table. But, because of the plethora of right angles, one cannot drive the screws straight in through the holes in the metal brackets and into the wood panel. It is not possible. The screws, then, end up at a slight angle and are not flush with the surface once they are all the way in. By the time I am done getting the pieces out of the packaging, assemble it as well as I can with the resources I have; I was quite ready to throw the thing on to the fire pit and burn it. Haverty's needs to put signs on all of the furniture that requires the customer to assemble it. I would have NEVER bought this piece if I had known. You are going the way of IKEA and it's not a good look. I'm in my early 60's. I deserve, as your customer, to be warned. I thought I was shopping in a fairly classy furniture store. I guess not-so-much anymore.

Even with a 40-50% discount, it still costs more than buying it online or at a regular West Elm store. It's shocking that this is legal and that West Elm allows such a scam. Always use Google search- to take a picture of the furniture and search for the actual price to ensure you're not being scammed. Essentially, they're trying to sell you a damaged item for full price, if not more. Also, if they're doing it, so are the rest of the stores!

The staff is still friendly and ever more helpful! It's always a pleasure coming here. Updated Review - 3/9/18 Who are you fooling West Elm... You've stopped having actual low prices and are relying on your "Entire Store 40%" off or what ever they daily deal is. At the time these photos were taken, almost everything was 1¢ off of retail prices. The outlet was 40% off, but the regular store was 30% off. I'll greatly pay the extra 10% for a NEW item and one that's not sold "as-is" and "Final Sale". For me, it's simply not worth the drive from Charlotte anymore...

After six or so visits to this place with consistent results, I've decided the following two…read morethings: 1) it's got phenomenal inventory, which moves fast so buy it if you like it. Hence, the two stars. But 2) be prepared to be treated like you smell bad, or are bad, or are just generally in the staff's way. (Not all of them, but def the majority) Hence, only two stars. It's such a shame. I literally steel myself for the openly crap attitude I always, always receive. I've bought something every single time I go in, so it's not like there's any reason at all for me to have to field this. I wear deodorant and normal clothing, I have no small children in tow, no dog in arms, nothing. It's inexplicable, but I could set my watch by it. If you'd like to find some pretty, often unusual, (though admittedly sometimes overpriced) things, go here! Just make sure you get something cool enough to wash the taste of the customer service interactions away when you look at it later -- because when you leave you're likely to feel like you just drove through Taco Bell on Poplar in Memphis at 2 am. Pretty sure that's where they found their customer service manual. If you make it past the front desk without turning into a shriveled block of ice, don't miss the fabulous large COVET booth just inside the first display area. That booth in particular has amazing finds at fair prices.

They have a magnificent collection of Italian designer furniture and are hands-down experts in helping connect upscale customers with home furnishings they want for their well-appointed modern homes. Working with Erin, we were able to define custom-made items which were then imported to us within the usual timeframe of any store, but were so far beyond the level of the typical furniture we expected to buy. Our sofas are an exquisite blue-gray leather, which have truly transformed an already attractive living area. The new king-size bed is so stylish with large padded headboard, and so comfortable with custom-fitted, natural latex padding, that we simply can't decide whether we like lying in it or looking at it more! From beginning to end of our shopping experience, Erin made every aspect wonderful for us; it is hardly surprising that she is an award-winning designer with an amazing list of achievements. She's really special. If you are in the market for any furnishings, you owe it to yourself to pay Mobilia a visit and see what they have to offer.

I feel like I got judged and discriminated against today by the owner Mark. First time I met him was today. I inquired about tarped wood sitting in the parking lot. Rather than helping me, he seemed more interested in removing wood that he wanted to plane and sell and I was a distraction to his newly found treasure. As we were walking to go back in the store, he basically dismissed me. "Okay, thanks for stopping by." He literally stood in front of the door. I said, "I am sorry, did you assume I was not going to purchase the wood we looked at or look at anything else?" This was very insulting... He said, "that wood is very expensive. This comment alone told me that he judged me as someone who couldn't afford what I was looking at. Bad news for you is that I can afford it and your discrimination doesn't deserve a penny from me. Owner (Mark) don't bother responding. A response from you will never convince me that you don't discriminate. BTW: This place is way overpriced!
