There were so many wonderful flavors: rose sugar in the opening snack, smoked mussels and saffron foam in the soup, homemade ricotta in the carrot pasta, spruce sorbet palette cleanser,, an incredible steak, rhubarb ice cream. Wow! Super unique. Service was friendly and professional. The dining room is small and the ceiling is a bit low, so the noise level is pretty high when the room is full. We were across from a table of 6 and one gentleman did not know how to use an inside voice, so we had to lean in to talk over this loud talker. But that's not the restaurant's fault. I think the price is really a bargain for what you will experience. Bring a nice bottle of wine and enjoy! We're already looking for reservations later this summer! Fantastic!

A side stop between State College and Harrisburg. We went with friends and brought a few bottles of wine (byow-no cork fee). We were the last seating of the night at 7:45 PM. This is a fixed price, fixed menu, 5-course meal, with a surprise 6th appetizer, all with a "Fall" theme as we visited in September. This is a farm-to-table restaurant with many items coming from their garden. I wouldn't say the menu options were my favorite but the presentation was excellent. Everything was delicious, service was great and it was a beautiful evening with friends. We were there past 10 PM as the restaurant came to a close. I'm glad places like this exist outside of the typical urban setting - thank you!

There are many things worth noting about this store that are good. But, they are trumped by the…read morestore and the store's workers' and customers' lack concern for each other, their community, and shoppers, and their respect for government or science. There was marginal mask wearing by the employees, about 50%, and about 25% by the customers. Both groups are thus inconsiderate, to themselves and to their customers, and to the related area. Mask wearing is a super easy way to reduce the spread and help us get back to work and play. It saddens me that in this somewhat christian area, known for its churches (many Mennonites work there, and Mennonites and Amish shop there, you can recognize them by their clothing and lack of mask), that they are not being kind, Christian, nor sensible. What would Jesus do? He would wear a bleeding mask. I did speak with the manager who noted that workers had been reprimanded. But within sight of us were two workers not wearing their mask close to correctly! One if left to ask, do they believe in food hygiene even, then? do they believe in food safety? If they won't follow some of the most necessary and visible public safety rules, what do they do when we are not looking? Do they "believe" in cold chain? Do they believe in the pathogen theory of disease? I guess I'll go back post pandemic, but I did lose a little faith in humanity in that the manager (the manager!) felt powerless to enforce public safety on her own employees. I cut my visit short, reported them to the PA Department of Health, and wrote this review. I will also have to be less sympathetic to groups of folks that do not support public health. I left sadly disappointed.

All the items you would expect from a PA country market - ring bologna, ham salad, fried chicken, whoopie pies, fresh baked bread, and bulk spices. Service is very, very friendly and this market is a great shop. A little far from State College for it to be a regular shipping destination but I always stop when I'm in the area. Prices are very reasonable too. Only down side is the produce section is small, but in season lots of the produce is locally grown.

Service was courteous and efficient. I ordered a cheese steak with marinara on the side and my girlfriend got the fried fish sandwich with extra tartar sauce which came with a healthy portion of crispy french fries. The bread was soft and seasoned and didn't fall apart or hinder the eating of the sandwich as some stiff breads can. The french fries were blanched to ensure a crispiness that was so delicious we told our friends whom we were vacationing with to stop in the next day for lunch. Some diners can leave you with that sick feeling in your gut from overly greasy fried foods. Michele's is not one of those diners. We saw regulars and families coming in to enjoy a nice warm meal in their favorite local restuarant. I recommend you sit on the side section which overlooks the flowing river. If you're lucky you can see some mallards resting on the banks. We had a great meal and the waitress was kind and patient with all her customers. Everyone had a smile on their face and the atmosphere was relaxed and calming. We would definitely go here again.
