the absolute worst place to get your nails done. went to get my nails removed the tech ripped my nails off causing me to bleed then says ouch as if it hurt her. She continues to use a fake nail to rip the rest of my nails off. I told her that I was done and I don't want to finish. I kept going bc I loved her work. I've been coming here for years now and my past experience was awful enough to make me not come back. I scheduled an appointment with Ruby, who is really really talented. I was SO excited to get them done since i haven't had them done in awhile. When i arrived she was still working on someone, i waited for 15 minutes. This would've been okay if the rest of my experience was good. As soon as I sat down i showed her what i wanted & she goes "easy", so I'm thinking "perfect it's going to look great"-no. It was terrible. The shape wasn't correct, the colors were off, and the mushroom drawings looked messy as hell. I've seen her draw more complex things than mushrooms!!! To top it off, she was on the phone the WHOLE time yelling at someone about a house she was trying to sell. I couldn't even relax, in fact i had to watch her do my nails bc she was rushing and not trying at all. She then goes "mushroom/strawberry either or" and laughed... don't recommend. read more

Let me just start by saying that Kim is great. But the last 2 times I've come here I didn't get Kim, I got someone else and BOTH times she has hurt me and made me bleed. The first time she even stepped on my freshly painted toes. I just walked out of getting my nails done because she drilled right through my nail into the nail bed and made me bleed. This place was very recently purchased by the owner of another salon. I follow the owner on Instagram because she can do some seriously awesome nail art. Even Japanese nail art, which I have been hard pressed to find here in the metro plex. Her IG handle is @rubyluckynails Go follow her. I wanted a specific design I found on Pinterest and it was not a problem. I also showed her some acrylic tiny fruit pieces I had for possible nail art and she was able to replicate designs for those as well. As for the salon, it's rough ya'll. Like it needs a serious remodel and I'm not kidding. New paint, new furniture, less clutter etc. But I don't care. All the tools used were sterile and wrapped. The pedicure chairs use plastic basin covers. It just doesn't look pretty inside and I'm okay with that. read more

Never again I waited 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time for Ruby, but I didn't mind because I thought it would be worth the wait. She came in rushing. I showed her a pic of the design that I wanted she said "oh that's easy". I told her same length as pictured with design she said okay. She then got on speaker phone and talked about her personal issues to someone the entire time while doing my nails, so there goes my relaxation. Then I noticed the length was shorter than discussed and the design she did was nothing like the pic although she said otherwise. It was very amateur and when I told her I was unhappy with it she acted as if she was going to fix it. Blamed it on the nail bed being shorter than the pic when she is the one that cut them shorter than asked. Redid the design only for it to look the same. I told her that she was rushing and not taking her time. She then told me to just go to someone else and let them do it. I ended up going to a different lady in the shop and at this point I was ready to go so I just asked for a simple French tip. I ended up paying $50 for some baby nails that I did not want nor ask for. Ruby is rude and very unprofessional. Never again!!! read more

Now, I did not originally believe that this establishment deserved this low of a ranking, but after the experience a friend of mine I referred went through I WILL NEVER RETURN HERE. So just know, that if you have a problem with your nails, do not expect them to help you out at all. They do not think about the fact that you respect their feelings and do not want to tell them that they did a horrible job right to their face, nor do they respect their word "that they would never let someone leave with a horrible nail job", and nor do they own up to the fact that they created an easy problem to fix much larger than it was. Being that you are in a customer service establishment, you should act like you care about your customers. I went to their first location a few times before because it was close to my house, but they've become so popular that they've had to make a second location. The owner and her husband stay at the second location for the most part. They do a really good job at copying designs from the internet (Pinterest, etc). That's my favorite thing about them. They will not say no to a certain design or request. They actually prefer that you bring in new things to try, and if you do, you make it into their Instagram page. Which is a pretty big deal in the HEB area. John, the husband, has been the person I've been coming back to see these past couple times and he remembers who I am as well as the style he gave me last time. It's nice to be a regular at a nail salon that had this much talent. Ruby, the owner and the nail design queen, is the one that you can see going around the site to make sure that her employees are doing the right techniques to make sure that the customers design comes out just like the picture that they brought in. Needless to say, I love this place and they're pedicures aren't half bad either. Pretty good prices and friendly staff. She can do pretty much anything and has an amazing Instagram account that you can look through. Show her and she can do exactly that for you. I used to go to ruby to get my nails all the time and I loved them! Then she moved to Watauga so I didn't go as much, but didn't mind making the drive to get decent nails. I went to get a full set of acrylic nails last Thursday, less than a week ago. I made an appointment for me and my older sister to go togethThe man who did my nails cut them way too short. He asked how long and I said pretty long and he cut before I said yes, so that's reason one why I'm unhappy. Reason two, we got home and Friday morning, my sisters whole nail completely popped off, she had to go get it fixed because she lives out of town and she was leaving. Monday night one of my nails popped off and I'm currently out of town so I can't go get it fixed and then this morning one broke in half, I didn't feel it or anything looked down and it was gone. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!! The ONLY reason I clicked 'yes', is because it's the only way I could leave a review! I went in yesterday for a fill and a pedicure; I asked if they had the glow powder & was shown a box with a bunch of powders thrown all over it; I choose my color and they decide to do the pedicure 1st; I chose the $35 lavender pedicure; I was cut twice, they used the same cheese grater thing on me, as they did on the person sitting next to me, without even spraying it with alcohol, my heels are still very rough, the wannabe foot massage was a joke - the guy just ran his thumb up and down the middle of my foot, holding it in such a way, it was almost vulgar!!!! Then they had me soak my nails in acetone, telling me it was better for my nails - it's not! She pretty much drilled, the tips I did have, COMPLETELY OFF!!!! I still have powder on my fingers and under my nails today, where they don't belong, and they're completely uneven!!!! Went to pay & was prepared to pay around $75 and was charged $105!!!! When I asked why, I was told it was because I got acrylics on my toes, which I did not - acrylic powder, yes - acrylic nails on my toes - absolutely NOT!!!! They had said at the beginning that it was an extra $5 for the glow powder, which was fine, so for a $30 fill / mani +$5 for glow = $35; a $35 pedicure + $5 for glow = $40, totaling $75, which I totally okay with to pay and expected as much, even for crappy service, and had planned to lay a $100 down for services rendered and their tips! However, when I was told a $105 because I got acrylics on my toes, things went WAY SOUTH!!!! The police were called and I ended up paying the full amount, in hindsight I wish I would've only given them the $75 that they were actually entitled to and taken the ticket for $30 worth of theft of services!!!! On another review, they did something very similar to someone else and actually locked her inside their business over a $5 dispute, until the police arrived!!!! Are you f'ng kidding me?!?! That's against the law too!!!! Anyway, the place is dirty, rude, unprofessional, do lousy work, and apparently make a habit out of charging people more money at the end of your service, other than what was originally quoted, and calling the police on people!!!! This place was recommended when I complemented a young lady on her beautiful nail art. I made a special trip to visit the nail tech Ruby, because she is very talented and offers a lot of trendy designs and art work that is hard to find in the Mid Cities area. She is Instagram famous for her nails and features a lot of her amazing designs on the shops FaceBook page. I've been spoiled frequenting many nail salons in the Colleyville/Southlake/Keller area with the best customer service, beverage service during treatments, and a relaxing spa like environment. If you are into unfriendly and rude service and someone that won't be considerate of your time. This is the place for you. Also if you like to have your rude experience in a run down hole in the wall shop with kids running around and crying, and the employees unkept and scary looking, this is the place for you. The shop is dirty and sketchy looking. The bathroom is dirty, definitely not a spa environment, more like public restroom vibe.I was willing to see past that to get my nails done by Ruby since she is supposed to be so good,and we drove out of the way to get there. They do at least use sterile tools. I noticed most of the clientele were young and mostly teenagers. Maybe that is why Ruby feels like she can talk to the clients the way she does. She became irate and refused service because I politely questioned her about not being honest about how long it will take to be serviced. We walked in and asked for pedicures and to have our nails done. I would have appreciated her just being honest and saying we are busy right now and given a real time for service. Instead, you sit me in a pedicure chair, and I wait for an hour to be serviced. She was so upset that I complained about it that she discontinued servicing the other person I was there with and refused my service. Honestly, there is never a reason for an owner to talk to client that way. My guest and I wanted to have our services completed together. After waiting patiently and watching my guest get a full pedicure and start a set of nails, I felt like I should have the right to ask when I would get serviced. She insulted me by calling me "ghetto"! Highly offensive, especially since I am a woman of color. I've seen other reviews that describe her as friendly, perhaps in her eyes I just wasn't a guest worthy of that treatment. I politely paid for services that were rendered and even tipped the tech that did the pedicure for my guest because she was actually very nice. Needless to say, I will NEVER be back! There is a really nice salon called the Dallas Hair Lounge with a tech by the name of Cai he is the originator of many of the awesome designs that Ruby copycats. He is amazing, and his prices are comparable. The salon is clean and classy and their service is respectful and friendly. Worst nail experience I've ever had! I'm a licensed cosmetologist and can tell you everything is up to state board regulations in here. All the staff interacts with clients in a friendly manner.
