We've had such great experience with Top Ballers. The organization is solid, communication is clear and games are always well run. They actually enforce the rules (yes, including age/grade verification), which means no random "ringer" kids showing up and throwing off the competition. Unfortunately way too many things wrong with this league. For starters in each game they only have 2 periods per game rather than 4 periods. Its a non traditional type of basketball time management. Makes it harder for you team rotation. They're constantly redoing the schedule so if you plan ahead, be ready to possibly see changes on Thursday evenings. Then you have constant late appearances from the referees so be ready to play games with only one referee. Ultimately this causes unfair play, so one team will usually suffer because you have no calls your way. Lastly the referees have literally told us that the score does not matter because this is not the NBA!!! Theire are 2 gentlemen that run the league who appear to be readily available but quite honestly it feels to me like they're their for show and unwilling to accept accountability for some of the scheduling and referee mishaps when you ask for help. They make a lot of money in this league and would expect better experience but seems like a lot of disappointment. Were not coming back. read more

My kids have enjoyed playing for this youth basketball program for the last five years. There are no absentee directors, so there is always someone from the program overseeing the games. Also, the kids' grade/age are verified and the roster is checked at each game to ensure fairness and balanced competition. All the games are streamed online so busy parents can still watch the games. The kids have made so many friendships on their team as well as kids from other teams. In this program, they have learned not only learned teamwork, but also camaraderie and sportsmanship. Great league and community space. We love their code of conduct, high ethics and support to our kids! The good news for this league is competitive and have many levels of different age groups for boys and girls. They don't allow older kids to play with lower divisions, which makes it safe for your kids. The camps that they host have provided a good foundation of fundamental skills. Additionally, this league is a perfect "in between" of club and recreational basketball. The refs were horrible. They didn't call any fouls. One of the players stuck out his ankle to our team and the refs did not call it. For playoff games, fair calls from referee and proper working score machine is important. Referee needs to recognize when there is poor sportsmanship or foul play. Kids work very hard in their games. Great place to learn and enjoy the game! We left a different North OC league to try out Top Ballers a while ago and never looked back. Things are well vetted here. The organizers are very present and responsive to emails, Baller TV and stat keeping adds to the fun, and I like that we start with a shootout to evaluate. Way more effective than a league that erases the first 3 games as if they never happened! read more

If your child is wanting to play basketball and just learning or playing for fun, Top Ballers is not the league for them. They are not a rec league/program. A majority of the teams are club teams put together and sign up as a team. The handful of kids not on a club team are the left over team. It is very unfair and destroys the fun for the kids. There is favoritism towards Placentia Ballers Club teams run by Brandon. During the season older teams played down to dominate the less experienced non club team. It emotionally destroyed the fun for many of the kids. Our team initially started off with only 5 kids and the other 10 teams had at least 10 players. When questioned about it, Top Ballers responded with, those teams were already put together and signed up as a team. The court/park we were scheduled to practice at was taken over by the Placentia Ballers Club (Brandon) so we had to find our own court to practice. There was even an all girls team that was like 2 grades older that payed down against a 2nd grade team, even the referees questioned it. If your child os good and wants to excel, then pay for a club team that will practice year around. read more
