We loved everything about this club! We played on 13s Niloo Travel Team and 15s Jen Travel Team. Both my daughters had played recreation VB at the Fullerton YMCA for 3 seasons and one year of club asp at the YMCA. They had a good grasp of the sport coming in and still improved significantly thanks to focused practices, strong coaching, and the many opportunities for additional workouts, clinics, and private coaching. My freshman worked with Coach Niloo individually a couple of times to work on jump serves and hitting in preparation for her high school team try outs and she made JV. Niloo is very professional and eager to bond with her team; her 13s love her! She has played at the collegiate level, is a certified official for tournaments and knows her sport well. She provided skill training ing and also education about nutrition, sportsmanship and individual attitude on and off the court. Coach Jen was also very respectful and collected at all times. She gave everyone opportunities to play. ProPlay IS costly, especially when you have more than one child playing. However, they do give a sibling discount and as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. The owners are visible and accessible. They will work with you if you have any issues. My daughter's first season of Club Volleyball was extremely memorable because of ProPlay, Coach Niloo and her teammates. She was able to attend some of ProPlay's clinics and wanted to try out even though there was a different club much closer to home that I tried to steer her to. She ended up joining Coach Niloo's team and has grown so much, not just in skills, but in mental toughness, teamwork, communication and competitiveness. Niloo is tough, caring, passionate and she really knows volleyball. The girls that play for her know that she expects a lot from them, but she also celebrates each of their victories, whatever they may be. She was a big reason our team bonded so well since she encouraged it and was in the middle of it all with the girls and the families. Speaking about families, we just happened to have an amazing group! One of the great things about ProPlay as a volleyball club is that even though the volleyball season is over, they have different activities that the players can attend to continually practice and improve. This summer, there are clinics geared toward different skill development and many summer camps. My daughter has had multiple coaches with the different clinics she's attended and she learns something new from each one. I grew up playing club volleyball in OC, competed collegiately and have now coached at the college and club level for over 6 years. Understanding the values and vision of the people behind the name... more importantly seeing If the flawed humans running the show although NOT perfect, are truly lead in their decisions by what they claim is their vision and values (this is important) 2. Owning those vision and values for yourself and your family member participating 3. Choosing a club that has quality coaches with experience, whom also own the vision and values of the club, NO MATTER the level of the team Megan and Filip have a heart for providing a space for local volleyballer's to ball. I have seen first hand how their decision making is filtered through providing a high level experience and training for players AND caring for the hearts of young athletes at the same time. Sure, mistakes have been made along the way of running a club that hosts A LOT of different people year to year. However, from my experience with them they: 1. Know what their visions and values are 2. Own when they need to 'course correct' or communicate with parents or coaches through conflict 3. Continue to pursue high level coaches for all of their teams so that each year, the level of coaching and player development grows. Is everyone going to be happy all of the time, no. But competitive sports are supposed to be a place for athletes to not only become the best they can be physically... but the best they can be personally too. My daughter has played for a few different club volleyball teams including a national powerhouse one in Iowa. Pro Play is the club she has stuck with the longest. We have been with this club for 3 years and for many good reasons. No club is perfect and you have to decide what your goals are as a player. Pro Play met our goals. Coach Megan was her coach for 2 years and my daughter valued and appreciated her coaching style. Coach Megan ran focused, organized practices. She was the kind of coach my daughter wanted to work hard for. My daughter grew as a player and as an athlete. ProPlay is really a great club that focuses on the player as a whole. It's not just about winning, but about having the right attitude. I love that they really cultivate teamwork and positive reinforcement with the shoutouts at the end of each practice / clinic. My daughter has played two travel seasons with ProPlay, both with Coach Niloo (13s and 14s). A special shout out to Coach Niloofar! I cannot say enough good things about Coach Niloo, who is now the head of the 14 and under group. She cares so much about her kids and takes the extra effort with each of them. She cultivates a very positive learning environment but is also intense to push them to the next level. My daughter's first year, she was so nervous and unsure of herself, and Coach Niloo seemed to understand that. She knew how to encourage her and not scare her off from the sport. But her second year, Coach Niloo knew how she had to build on her skills. And even now, as she enters her 3rd year, Coach Niloo's feedback is even more specific. Coach Niloo is just quality! She knows her players and meets them at their different levels. Her team this past year was in total tears because it was their last year to be coached by her as a team. PROS: Great place to start off learning. Tons of clinics, camps, and other opportunities for young players. Lots of coaches. Very positive high energy environment created. A different team for each level that your kid is at. A lot of feedback as the team is playing. CONS: It's expensive, though I've heard it's not as expensive as some clubs out there. Travel teams are probably where you get the best coaching, plus a lot of different perks (sports psychology training and other workouts during the season), but it's $$$. I am just shocked and can't believe that even one of these good reviews are legit. They are written by either the staff or the favorite players on their star team. The worst unprofessional coach they have is Niloofar, they call her coach Niloo, she is not trained as a coach and have no experience and should not be allowed to train anyone. Megan and Fillip are only interested in only some of the players and they definitely make sure your child knows it too. They take your money and give your children all kinds of hopes in tryouts, but during season it all goes away. The coaches and their assistants for the younger starter teams have absolutely no coaching experience, mean, loud and absolutely unprofessional. For some is their first coaching gig here and don't have any idea on how to properly coach and develop a very young girl that is supposed to be a starting point on her career. I would recommend other clubs in the area and please research your child's coaches resume and credentials before you sign up and have them ruin their career. read more

I am very familiar with the ins and outs of playing and coaching. I was very impressed with the owners Megan and Filip. They are so knowledgeable and professional. Now a-days it is hard to find people who not only love what they do but also genuinely care about others. My niece has been with Pro Play for a couple years now and absolutely loves it, her coaches and her teammates. The environment Megan and Filip have created is one like none other. I see the joy and confidence my niece has built and I know it has stemmed from her volleyball experience here. My daughter played for ProPlay for four years. We had a terrible experience due to Filip and Megan's lack for care for every team. Filip and Megan only care about their "star" team and put no effort into teams other than their favorite. With that being said, all they want is to take your money. Although they may sound professional during tryouts, they are anything other than that. During my daughter's second year of playing for this club, her coaches switched 6 times (literally). The assistant coaches do not have much experience because they are too lazy to hire actual good coaches. The assistant coaches are chosen from people who have played for Proplay before or they play for Fullerton College. If you want to send your child to a legitimate, organized, and caring club, do not consider this one. Because Coach Niloo worked on both physical and mental aspects of training my daughter matured not only as a volleyball player but as a person. It was wonderful to observe. We are incredibly disappointed with this organization. There is a serious lack of professionalism, honesty, follow through from promises and commitments made to the teams and players. They seem more committed to making money than coaching and developing a reputable volleyball program. Our daughter played a single season with the club with great support from several of the clubs coaches, but the directors do not keep their promises and are likely to favor players who play for their high school teams. They were notified of several issues and promised changes but did not do anything, such as: coaches not showing up or being prepared to coach, practices being moved to different facilities last minute, coaches without support or proper experience to coach tournaments, assistant coaches not showing up for tournaments... The worst, They were dishonest and misleading during tryout weekend. They encouraged our daughter to tryout and took our money for the tryout, knowing they had no intent to place her on a team and did not notify us until after all club tryouts were complete on Sunday evening. They disrespected our daughter, purposely attempting to derail her ability to play for any club. This is a disgraceful act. We reached out to them to discuss their decision, left messages and emails with no response. They do not have the integrity to respond or at least give a child the chance to participate with another club. read more
