Minh cut my hair. I typically get a #1 cut, so my haircut is fairly simple. I'm not certain about their expertise with fades and other more complex styles since they don't use a straight razor, only clippers and scissors. The fee is determined by the length of your hair, but as I only get a #1, it's $10. The vibe now that's a different story. It's cash only and just a hole in the wall mom and Pop nothing fancy at all random fish tank in the middle but Again for 10 bucks. You really can't complain especially with barbers out there charging $55 and for some reason they can't get a number one cut. read more

Can't beat $10! I think they can charge more. It was my first time here. My old barber moved to Hawaii. I just got the haircut, have not received compliments yet, but I think they do a better job than my local spot in SGV. They take great care and take their time in cutting hair. They were very nice and welcoming. Walk ins are welcome. I took my son here a few months ago and saw this Asian OG head from the 90's drive up in an old clean Porsche get a haircut here. I arrive to Top-Barber On Sunday afternooand immediately am sat to a chair for a haircut. I explain I want a medium fade.. and within 10 hastened minutes I have this uneven, sloppy and rushed haircut. Pretty embarrassed to go to work tomorrow. Thank GOD hair grows because I couldn't live with this patchy cut for long. It felt like she was just trying to get the whole thing over with. I tried explaining what changes I wanted as this was so quickly happening, but she would just nod and proceed. I would not recommend this place. The ladies that work here are pretty lazy. Don't expect anyone here to spend more then 15 minutes on your cut. Haircuts are around $8 so I guess you get what you pay for. I recommend this place if you want a simple buzz cut or aren't to picky about your hair. read more

If you're looking for anything other than a buzz cut, your better off avoiding this place. The barbers advertise a fade haircut, and when I requested one, the staff seemed confused. They proceeded to attempt to haircut, but left patches behind while rushing through the cut. Furthermore, they went ahead and cut more than a little off the top when they were asked to let it grow. Went in hoping for a decent haircut worth the price, left with an uneven, patchy cut and a never returning customer. To those who are able to get they cut they like here, more power to you. Sucks to give this review. Came out of like a 7 year review hiatus to do so but dang 2 bad experiences in a row!?!?! Both with Service, this one with actual cut that irritates me most. Ugh because I moved here in November found the place and actually got quite a few haircuts that I liked and that's was complemented on. Was going to be and started to be my regular spot. Especially the price. Anyways the last time the old lady was rude and weird off something that actually I should've been upset about, but ok :::eye roll:::shaking my head::: then starts talking diarrhea (can totally tell) in Vietnamese and for along time and I recorded but whatever. Cut was still okay. This time again I didn't understand wth happened. Both times Im chill, nice, and even tip well....what the actual.... $5 haircuts! The pricing varies depending on the style, but all I care about is the one I get. For me, it's the typical Asian spiky hairstyle. Yeah, I know it's lame but I'm not metro, trying to make my hair look all pretty. I just want something simple and cheap, and at Top-Barber, it's $5. When I walk in, there's usually no wait. If there is, you can browse some magazines and newspapers (many in Vietnamese), or you can watch a television showing Vietnamese music videos. The stylists are also Vietnamese and speak limited English. The haircuts are pretty quick (add $2 for shampoo). They're not perfect or anything, but I'm usually satisfied. However, I must note that I'm not too sure about their cleaning/sanitation practices. One time, the stylist dropped the comb onto the hair-covered floor, picked it up, used the hairdryer on it, then continued using it on my head. I was going to complain when I remembered this was Little Saigon (or close to it) and they adhere to their own rules. Also, when I first started going here, one stylist would turn the back of my neck all red with the clipper. It doesn't happen as much anymore. Since I can't give this place 3.5 stars, it's getting 4. Again, it's not the cleanest place or the best place, but it's a $5 haircut. Even a Korean doctor was there one time I went. read more

The part I liked : After they're done cutting hair, they have this head cleaner (feels like a head massage) to really clean alll hair off and blowdry it several times. The other viet haircut places I've been to always leave a big mess. They blowdry once, when it's over, my head still has tons of hair pieces, more on my forehead, neck, shirt, shoes. Not thoroughly cleaned at all leaving me irritated. I paid $6 + $2 tip = $8 total. KUPS, a dessert place is next door walking distance, and they have Tuesday specials for cheap dessert & drinks. Never seen such incompetence from the lady on the left-ended chair of the salon. I have long slicked back hair and went in for a really simple cut around the ear and the back of the head, showed the lady how to cut it as well as the length etc. Spoke clearly in Vietnamese. But what do you know she went her own way and cut all the way to the top which completely destroyed the hairstyle. All I wanted was to cut around the ear so the hair and lining of the neck. Gave me an undercut which I never asked for plus the back was uneven. Learned my lesson and will never return to this place. read more

But the difference is I'd pay ~$15 for Supercut...3x more than I do here. I asked him to cut me a fauxhawk, which he did an okay job with. i got my haircut here because being the cheap college and high school student i was, 5/6 dollars seemed amazing for a simple cut that i usually get. I've been here a few times, maybe 3, hoping my experience would get better but it just doesn't seem to be. the first time i remember the most, because she was literally scratching my head and i felt like i had scratch marks or something after the haircut. and the second time, i was left to sit listening to a ladies entire life story after she was asking about MINE. i would not recommend, unless you're on a strict budget and would be okay with a 5 dollar haircut, but just know you're getting your money's worth. read more
