My brother and his wife suggested lunch here over the weekend. It was my first time trying it and I was definitely happily surprised. It's definitely a bar atmosphere. We were seated immediately and our server came to visit right away. I ordered the bloody Mary, my SIL got the tropical mimosa, and my brother got a beer. That bloody Mary was so good! I'm picky with those, too. We didn't try the Sunday Boozy Brunch they offered, but it sounds good. We tried the fried green tomatoes to start with and those were yummy. The horseradish sauce it comes with could use more of a kick. It's really toned down so there's no spice to it. I got Tres Tacos and they were really good! The brisket one has a little too much BBQ sauce. I could have done without that. I ordered a sweet tea after I finished my bloody Mary. That was TOO sweet. This is coming from someone who LOVES a southern sweet tea. It was like drinking syrup. I'll just stay away from it next time and stick with the booze. Overall, great service and good food. Food is good. We are locals and have seen this place since it opened. We have been here a few times. Service is not very good slow slow slow. Need more people . More busboys and servers needed. The owners really need to manage this place better or it will not survive long. We have given it a try 5-10 times but the same issues remain. Today the sever said we couldn't even get a plate to eat on as all were dirty and needed cleaning. Owners but some more plates and silverware . Picture show why had no plates because entire place needed busing and there were people waiting to be seated a long time. Order came out quickly and the wings were tasty but not seasoned well. They cook them and toss. The run didn't stick on and the Leno sauce has no lemon or hot flavor. The place is set up great! Very clean with TV's to watch all the games. Great affordable cold beer , and great service. The only problem was..... The food was embarrassingly horrible !!!!! Ordered the nachos and a pulled pork BBQ sandwich...... I've been in the military for 22 years and the food they served was worse than any chow hall food I have ever had. The nachos: The chips were barely warm and tasted like out of a bag.... They were topped with a small gob of melted tasteless cheese , sour cream with few diced tomatoes and absolutely no seasoning. The pulled pork was beyond horrible!!!!! I have had better pork in military MRE's!!!!! Best burgers in town. We live nearby and try to have dinner and a movie every weekend for date night. Top Dawg has become our "Go To" place for a great meal at a bar and grill. I usually get the Double Black and Bleu Tavern Burger with fries and Laurie gets the Mushroom and Swiss burger and fries. With the entire "Garden" and mayo. Top Dawg Tavern was not a good experience. I felt like everything that could have been bad was bad! We walked feeling skeptical of the place to start with. We were seated quickly and discussed starters with the waitress. We ended up ordering the Buffalo Dip. The Buffalo Dip arrived quickly but the bowl was only about 1/4 full of cold dip and the chips were stale. The price was way too much for what we received. It took longer then it should to receive a burger order and a chicken fingers order in a place not even full. I ordered the Black & Blue burger (I like blue cheese) the burger had a huge glob of blue cheese, way too much for one burger after eating it I started feeling sick. It was just poor presentation and proportioning.The burger patty's were ok flavor wise but were thin, irregular shaped and small. Again the double burger was not worth the $10-$12 price point! With a burger order you get one side. The waitress tells me "the onion rings are good." I asked if they are home made she says "No, they are frozen but they are really good." I gave them a shot even frozen onion rings are alright usually and they were. The issue with the onion rings was that they only brought me 4 rings!! Again not good price point with the burger for 4 rings. Overall I'd rather go to a chain place like Applebee's. Sadly, my wife and I will not be back. read more

My husband & I went to Top Dawg Tavern tonight to enjoy a rare evening out. We were seated fairly quickly at a table near the back. We looked at the menus and decided what we wanted to order and after about 15 minutes, a group of 4 were seated at the table beside us. Still we waited for acknowledgement from anyone on the wait staff. There was one waitress that returned to a table behind us 3 times to chit chat with guys seated at the table while looking at her phone. She then went to the party of 4 table beside us, took their drink order, brought their drinks and took their food order. We were still waiting (25 minutes at this point) to see or even speak with a waitress. We waited another 5 minutes and decided they obviously did not want our business so we got up and walked out. I did stop & tell the hostess about our experience and that we would not be back. I'm sure that it probably didn't go any further than her, so I thought I would provide a public review of the lack of customer service this establishment provides. We have purchased numerous gift certificates from this restaurant for friends & family, but no more since they apparently don't need the business. read more

Then when the food came out to our table my server dropped her tray and my food was on the floor. Hot wing sauce splattered onto my son's special Xmas gift shirt so that's ruined which upset him as it was a shirt we bought off his favorite band's website and took forever to get. We came to Top Dawg Tavern yesterday to have lunch and watch football. It was clearly evident that our server did not want to be working. She had an attitude the entire time, wore her mask on her chin and never once covered her face also never mentioned the drink specials (we overheard them from another server). The bartender also never wore a mask. The TVs are so small so this is not a good place to try to catch a football game. The food was pretty good but I wish the staff would have been wearing masks.
