I love that I can walk in for dog nails and it is not expensive. I didn't need an appointment.

Been going every month for the last year. One of the times I had an appointment scheduled I showed up and the whole place was closed but I was there at the time that was written on my appointment card. I called and it took them multiple days to get back to me to reschedule. The last couple times I have gone I have specifically asked them to take the mats out of her ears and they never have, I have included a picture of how big the mats got that I had to cut out myself. They used to keep her for 3 hours and do a good job and the last few times they call after an hour, leave the mats in her ears, and then just say "she doesn't want to be here"... like okay? Some dogs don't like the groomers and they have cats roaming around in the back! Sure to make dogs misbehave.... Really liked them when we first started going and their service has gone really downhill. read more

I went here for first time since had good past reviews but saw one now that looks like not as good? I was not impressed by the service. I told what I wanted to receptionist and groomer. Groomer was very unfriendly when dropped off and when picked up. I was a little late which I apologized for and got lectured about being 30 minutes late. I was 15 minutes late. They did a good bath and brush out. Did not trim off as much as asked. When picked up was told by groomer in a grouchy voice that she does not like to be brushed. That's surprising since she loves and begs for brushing at home and no issues at any other groomer about being brushed. She was very unfriendly when picked dog up. Said had lots of mats. Well yes, long hair and that's why took to be groomed! One spot on side which I felt before thinking was a mat, when got home and felt still there, turned out to be a large tick. I left them a message surprised they did not see or feel that and let me know. She called back and said they do not do veterinary services and that it wasn't a tick but a skin tag and that she had other small lumps too. I did know about other lump and do not expect vet services but when have a dog with long hair and they notice things, good customer service would be to tell the owner in case they did not know so could have it checked. BUT, it was a tick!! Between leaving the message and her calling me back, I ran her by my vet which the nice assistant removed for me with no charge. It was a large tick, too. When told her this on the phone , she disagreed with me, kept telling me it was a tag, not a tick. I saw it and it had legs! A good groomer should at least know what a tick looks like and if find unusual things while grooming, let the owners know so they could have it checked. And would think they would have a tool to take a tick off. Overall, excluding that, was not real impressed with the grooming job they did. Hair trimmed was uneven in spots. Had better jobs other places for less charge. Will not be going back again if same groomer there read more

My Australian Labradoodle had his first professional grooming at Top Dog and I could not be any happier with the results. He looks amazing!! Awesome! Katie consistently does a bang up job. I have three very different dogs, and she handles them all beautifully. Katie does EXACTLY what you ask for.....and she remembers and does it right every time. I have taken my dogs to other groomers before I found Top Dog, and my dogs shook when they realized what was up. My big dog doesn't even need a leash, he runs for the door to see Katie! From the minute we walked in the door the lady working acted like it was a major inconvenience that I had brought my three ShihTzu's to this groomers. She was rude from the first question (it was the way she questioned me) she had asked me, did you bring all their shot records with you. I explained to her that we had emailed them several weeks ago, she then informed me that it was not marked. After several minutes she found the records. Then questioned me about what kind of cut I wanted for my dogs. I told her they are ShihTzu's I want a ShihTzu's cut. She did not ask me the length but the cut, then preceded to give more of her attitude. If I hadn't waited over 5 weeks for this appointment I would of left right then with my fur babies with me. After picking up my dogs, I wish I had followed my gut. The absolute worst cut I've ever seen on any ShihTzu in my life. I will never return to this location again much less recommended then to anyone. It was not worth the drive let along $60 per dog. Yes, I have had ShihTzu's for over 20 years and have put out plenty of money for my dogs. That is not the issue!!! read more

We recently moved to the area and we were pleasantly surprised to find this fabulous place. Our chiweenie has anxiety and she's had trouble in the past with other groomers. When we arrived the groomer came over to meet our dog, and to our delight, our dog bonded with her immediately. The groomer did an excellent job and the cost was only $15! You can tell she truly loves her job and she has a special way with animals. We will be returning soon. Highly recommend this place! read more

Once a year, I bring my long hair cat into be shaved (as she gets very matted) and they've done a good job. This year, though, not so good. The job was incomplete and not cleanly done....Very disappointed. I'll have to take her in again (somewhere else) as I am still battling matts on her tail. As the cost of service has gone up and the quality gone down, I caution pet owners about bringing their pets to Top Dog. read more

I took Lulu in after several months of having her running free in the country. She was knotted, disheveled and an all together mess. As this was our first our first visit, Lulu was very nervous, clinging to me, and they were very patient allowing her to settle down before before coaxing her to come to them. When I picked her up two hours later, she looked beautiful and happy, once again a Shih Tzu. I couldn't be happier. I would recommend Top Dog Grooming whole heartedly. read more

I have 3 rescue chihuhua mixes who all have different anxiety and issues. I was looking for a place who actually cared about them and they werent just a number. The girls that worked there have a compassion and genuine affection for animals. Fantastic! We have been taking our three dogs here since we moved to the area a few years ago. Katie clearly cares about the dogs in her charge and takes pride in her work. I live in CA and I am a groomer of 27 years . My Mom is up in La Center visiting with her very large Shih Tzu . Who is very difficult for her feet . I just. The staff here are so nice and professional. Our Yorkie had some bad experiences with other groomers making her uncomfortable and scared. After a couple of visits with Katie she is calm and easy to groom. Their kind nature has definitely made a huge difference with our girl. I highly recommend this groomer! read more
