Darrin and Zach from DRS Air came out to replace a furnace in my house. Here's how it went…read more I have a Home Warranty, and had my furnace go out in early December. My Home Warranty company scheduled me with a large, Portland-based company, who has let me down time and time again over the years. Ultimately, that Portland-based company was unable to appropriately fix the furnace and also no-showed once, so I called my Home Warranty company and begged for a different company. The Home Warranty came through and they sent me to DRS Air. To my surprise, my Home Warranty company asked if I was free to have them come out within the hour, not weeks like the other company. I was free, so hell yeah! Zach, who lives locally to me, came right out and was VERY thorough, ultimately diagnosing the problem very quickly and also identifying some significant errors the Portland-based company had made. Zach and Darrin (The owner of DRS) worked direct with my warranty company and got them to buy off on replacing the entire furnace! Of course, there are some things the Warranty company won't cover, which is totally okay. My out of pocket ended up being about $960. Darrin and Zach came out a week or so later and worked hard to get my new furnace installed. On top of that, they identified MORE problems the Portland-based company had caused, including a gas leak, and fixed them free of charge. Then, they figured out the cost was cheaper than expected, and charged me $200 less than quoted. These guys are incredible. Not to mention, it's a VETERAN owned and operated company. So rest assured, the work is going to be thorough and they'll stand behind their work. My hat is off to these guys. So glad I got connected with them.

Don't hire Weis Plumbing!…read more We live in a beautiful 120 year old home in Albany with plaster ceilings and walls. Ten years ago we had a leak in an upstairs bathtub (seal failed) which caused water to drain into our dining room ceiling, flowing down through our chandelier. It ruined part of our table, our table pads and left numerous flaking sections of the ceiling. We called Weis to fix the leaking drain. Unbeknownst to us, they "repaired" the seal with plumber's putty which dries out and cracks over time. In the spring of 2024, we finally had budgeted to have our dining room ceiling repaired and painted - FINALLY!! Three months later the seal in that same upstairs tub failed and water poured down and through our ceiling again. Once again I have patches of plaster that are cracked and threatening to collapse. Needless to say, we did not call Weis to fix it the second time. The plumber that we did call told us that it was "repaired" with plumber's putty which had dried out and cracked. They fixed it with silicone which does not dry out or crack. I sent an email to Weis last summer explaining what had happened. Foolishly I thought that I would hear back from someone with - at a minimum - an apology for what had happened. I held out hope that they might offer to cover the cost of our latest plumber's bill or - I know crazy - offer to help cover the cost of the new repairs needed. I did not hear back in any way from them. That tells me all the rest that I need to know about this company.

It been to this transfer station in quite a long time, but the thing I remembered is that is was as confusing as could be to navigate their labyrinth of cones and signs. Today the experience was much easier and clear. There is a light to pull up to and when it's green you pull on to the scale and get instructions. Big improvement. The other piece is that their hours that show up on their Google page are incorrect. That page said they are closed on Saturday, but when I called to double check they are in fact open on Saturdays... which only makes sense because that's when people are cleaning garbage out of their garages and whatnot. Service was prompt and friendly. Other than the garbage smell and slimy mud around the dump area the facility is near and orderly. I don't like going to the dump, but if I must, I'll go here. It works.

Mixed review about this company…read more Positive - weekly garbage service is reliable. Smaller garbage cans are priced reasonably. They offer recycling and yard waste bins. Website in general is informative and has useful information. Negative - If lid does not close fully (front is up by an inch or two), they add an additional fee on the fill. I get if there is stuff piled next to the garbage can and they have to get out, but they are so nit picky and looking to charge extra fees. We ordered a dumpster from them. They quoted a price for the dumpster. Then when they picked it up and the bill came, was about $80 more than the quote. We called and asked, they said it was over the weight limit. Why not disclose that up front? We were caught off guard. We may have still used them, but would have been a more pleasant experience if we had been aware of weight limit and possible extra charges. On a different occasion, we called and asked about a clean up event, and they told us we qualified. We showed up to drop off items and they said we did not qualify. Make up your mind...don't have the office people say one thing and then the people at the collection site say the opposite. Super frustrating.
