After telling the cashier that this is my first time when actually it's really my second but the first time, they ran out of brisket, so I left. Two years later, I'm back! Anyway. She let me know how I can order properly and also help me determine what size brisket I want. She assisted me with an option that isn't on the menu and it was perfect for just me. Overall, just great service. I hope to come back and may be dine in, maybe sit at the bar and hopefully try some of the sides.

Thursday Lunch Special Brisket Loaded Baked Potato

I finally snagged this coveted Thursday special Loaded Brisket Baked Potato. BBQ sauce not pictured. Everyday, M-F that is, Pit Boss has a daily special. Thursday is highly talked about where I work. These potatoes sell out quick. You can have your choice of meats, but that Brisket, is so good! Smoky, flavorful, seasoned just right!! I ordered it through Door Dash, because that line at lunch time is a beast! Order early, is my best advice, because they do sell-out!

This is our second visit. The first was in 2019. We have been dreaming of the delicious food and especially tender brisket.... it did not disappoint. Drive 40 minutes out of our way and it was sooo worth it!

We stumbled upon Pit Boss Barbecue while waiting for friends to arrive from the airport--and what a great find! The staff was fantastic--friendly, welcoming, and full of great suggestions. They greeted us enthusiastically as soon as we walked in, setting the tone for a great meal. A live musician played bass the entire two hours we were there, adding to the cozy vibe. We ordered the Rib Tip Dinner with baked mac & cheese. The meat was juicy with a perfect crisp, and the mac & cheese was full of flavor. The cheesy mashed potatoes were a bit heavy for me, but the peach cobbler was amazing! Their barbecue sauce added just the right kick. Overall, delicious food, great music, and warm service--I'd definitely come back!

This was my first and last time visiting this place. Nasty is an understatement. The ribs were dry, the brisket was tasteless and the Brunswick stew was gross. Came here for a work meeting and was not pleased. The service was prompt and the ambiance was friendly with a whole bunch of contractors that work in the area. I don't have anything good to say about this food. I will never come back. Dry ribs and nasty taste.

I've been here previously to the old location in the old building by myself. The second time visiting I went with my sister Medinah a couple of years ago in the new building. The food here is good and delicious. I didn't try the whole menu so I can't speak on all of that. My go to entree's are the smoked wings with fries and the brisket sandwich with sauce! This is what I like plain and simple and delicious. I got my food through Uber Eats this time around. I got my food on 10-22-2025.Pull up and support if you are in the area.

They had a DJ spinning some killer music. The staff was great all very nice and helpful. The food was ok at best. The brisket was hard a cold. The Mac n cheese had a different taste that I couldn't quite pin point. The cornbread was hard dry and not very good flavor. The sauces were only mild and hot. I was hoping for something more sweet and spicy but didn't see anything. The baked beans were the best part. I unfortunately don't think I'll ever go back.

Came across this place while in town for the weekend. It was a very spacious restaurant with a bar in the front and they had live entertainment. You come in and order at the back whether you are dining in or doing carry-out. I got my order to go but if you dine in you place your order and then choose where you want to sit and they bring your food to your table. Since I did carry out I waited near the back and they called my name when my order was ready. The staff were very friendly and it didn't take long to receive my order. I ordered the platter with 3 meats so I could try different items. I had the smoked wings, brisket and rib tips. The meats were very tender. The wings were well seasoned. I felt the seasoning on the brisket could have been better but with the sauce it was tasty. The rib tips were pretty good. Overall it was a nice spot for bbq with a good atmosphere.

Stopped in yesterday during the cold, windy snowy day we were having in Atlanta. This place was an old favorite, and I hadn't been in a really long time, and was hungry for the comfort of some tender BBQ Ribs .... Well, the young lady at the counter was super sweet in delivering the bad news that they were completely out of Ribs and Chicken :( So not to be outdone, they do serve a true "chopped pork" sandwich and it's really delicious- their sauce is good and they put plenty of meat on it. That sandwich coupled with Slaw and Fries worked out fine.... But I'm still wanting those ribs today. Also grabbed a slice of pound cake...it was delicious also. I absolutely recommend this place and will be back for ribs real soon. The location is great, plenty of parking and seating and it looks like a really nice outdoor seating area is available when it warms up. The folks working there were gracious and kind.

The food was so disappointing. I ordered the 3 meat plate but they were out of both Rob types and wings so I had the rib tips, pulled pork, and brisket. My two sides were baked beans and collard greens. I added an extra side of coleslaw. First the salt level is out of this world on everything even the coleslaw! All of the bar was over cooked and dried out. The brisket was the worst. It was hard, dried out, and chewy. The pulled pork was dry and chewy. The rib tips were ok, I believe the fat saved them on the inside but they were the most salty. The collard greens tasted like just greens with a lot of salt. The baked beans were ok just like the bush's can. The coleslaw amazingly was salty as well and had a strange celery salt flavor. Without the drink and extra side, this was absolutely not worth $38. Everything came to $43 without tip. The amount of food was not the best either, my hand is in the photo for reference. I'm ok with that though because if I ate it all I would probably greet high blood pressure. Service was quick and polite. Ambiance was like an old school bar so a bit loud but expected. The place was clean as well.

Ask the Community - Pit Boss BBQ

    Is this location open?

Yes. You can smell the smoker. Enjoy.

Does the new location serve beer?

I did not see any alcohol options available.

Do they take reservations for parties larger than 10?

Honestly, I don't think they take reservations. The place is a proverbial hole in the wall with service first come first serve. But I'm sure you could arrange it where they could reserve an area for you.

Will it be open Memorial Day?

    Usually, limited hours

For the most part, people seemed to enjoy it so I was convinced I should check it out. The restaurant is located inside of the Hilton airport Hotel. There is a secure parking lot that requires you to pull a ticket when you enter. The restaurant will validate the parking ticket for you ! When I walked in I was greeted by a staff member and seated immediately. Shortly after I was seated my wait staff came over and introduced herself. She took my drink order and said she would allow me time to look over the menu. I asked my wait staff her thoughts on the Mac and cheese. I am picky about eating Mac and cheese from places. Most don't know how to make real Mac & cheese ( if you know what I mean)! She told me it was pretty solid. - As such I ordered the following: Crab bisque Smoked chicken wing plate served with two sides: Mac & cheeses and asparagus were my picks! The crab bisque did take a long time to come out. It was so delayed that my main course came out shortly after the soup. It was not ideal, but I made it work! The crab bisque was solid. I would order it again. The wing plate also exceeded my expectations! I was impressed with the mac and cheese. The asparagus were large, which was concerning to me! Like how did they get so big? Steroids? Nonetheless, they were cooked to perfection! I did get the banana pudding to go- this was the only item I would not order again! It was basic and I only took a few bites and ended up trashing it . Overall I would reconned this spot! Service was spot on- and for a hotel restaurant the food is pretty good!

As eating on a budget has become a topic of conversation, I was excited to see the "Cheap Eats" search work in real time. As Barbecue Kitchen provides a robust menu with great pricing, it was an easy decision to head on over for date night. Arriving at Barbecue Kitchen I was excited to see that they have their own parking lot. As Barbecue Kitchen sits right on the main road, it was super easy to find and parking was in abundance. Walking in, Barbecue Kitchen has a homely feel and the classic interior design of a down home barbecue spot. The staff greeted us with a smile and as we were dining in, they advised us to sit anywhere we would like. Once at our booth of choice, the waitress arrived and further greeted us. She flashed her smile, provided us menus and went over what the specials for the day were. I decided to do Sweet Tea for my drink along with the Rib Tips Dinner Plate with Sweet Potato Soufflé, Baked Beans, Dressing and Gravy, and Cornbread. The Sweet Tea was delivered and it was amazing. Home brewed. Sweetened to perfection. Perfect ice to tea ratio and a robust tea flavor profile. This was that good tea bag. lol. The food arrived without too long of a wait and everything looked like it was made true cookout style. Upon saying grace, it was time to eat! Rib Tips - Meaty. Tender. Bland flavor profile. The sauce brings the flavor. If you aren't a sauce eater, I suggest you stay away from this option as you must have the sauce to have any flavor. However, the meat was moist and smoked to perfection. Sweet Potato Souffle - Good portion. Lacked a robust flavor spotlight. The potato's natural flavor dominated the dish. If you love sweet potatoes, you will love this dish. If you desire the more sweet flavor profile, this isn't it. Baked Beans - Made with bacon. Hint of sweetness. Overall good. Dressing and Gravy - Good portion. No flavor. Dressing was bland. Gravy was bland. As a pair it was double bland. Cornbread - If you are a lover of hot water cornbread, this is for you as it spotlights the natural corn flavor with no added sweetness. Overall, the Barbecue Kitchen was a moderate experience. The service was amazing. The food was sub-par. The pricing is budget friendly.

We parked behind the building and a woman who worked there had the door open. She had on a shirt that read Legalize being Black. My husband had on a Black Lives Matter shirt, & I had on a Juneteenth shirt. She smiled and raised her fist at us as we asked to enter through the door and we responded in kind. I love us! She toke U.S. to grab a menu as we walked in to the right of the bar. We found a high top and found what we wanted and went to the counter to order. The prices are reasonable until you get to adding the sides. I overheard another worker tell a couple who ordered after us to order the veggie plate if they were getting 4 sides as it was cheaper. I wish the person who took our order had told use that. The entrees are à la carte and priced reasonably. The sides are $5 each with a few exceptions, a hoecake is $2 and mac & cheese and a couple other sides are $6. Keep that in mind when you come. Our total for our inside dining with a can of ginger ale, fountain Diet Coke, & tip was like $70+ & the to go order for our son's meal w/o a drink was ~$30. It's definitely a good value if you only need an entree and have sides already. The food is good and has large pieces of meat & decent portions so there you go... I ordered the fried green tomatoes as a starter, smoked beef brisket with the barbecue sauce on the side, smoked turkey cabbage, dressing, & the lemon pound cake. Ironically, the fried green tomatoes came out last. They were piping hot though. They could've used a dash of salt but that cornmeal batter was perfection on the tomatoes. You get 3 and 1 was cut a little too thick and it was slightly mushy maybe cause it had to cook longer? But it was still good. The beef brisket was good. It's sliced thin and had that good smoke flavor and was seasoned well. The thicker slices could've been a bit more tender but overall it could rival some barbecue joints. The dressing was good and so was the cabbage, though it was almost tad bit saltier than I'd like. I'd order everything I had again. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed my food. You know not everyone who claims to cook southern food can do so. Oh the pound cake was good and moist. It reminds me of Sammy Chhesecake pound cake. My husband ordered the 3 pieces of fried chicken, collard greens & they do have a lil kick as the menu suggests, green beans, & yellow rice. He was pleasantly surprised with how big the pieces of chicken were. Nowadays people give you what looks like pigeon parts ‍. He said it was a tad salty. He said he also enjoyed his meal otherwise. I forgot to get pictures of the food for our son's takeout order of fried pork chops, collard greens, mac & cheese, & a hoecake. He liked his food as well but also said his pork chops, which were nice size center cut, were well seasoned, but a little too much. He enjoyed the meal and his 1st hoecake. They also do catering and seemed to have a large catering order being prepared to go out. The restaurant & woman's restroom was clean. The staff were friendly and quickly acknowledged us. The music was good but it would've been good to hear a mix of old school with the hip hop since it was Juneteenth. They have a full bar. The only thing I didn't like was Fox News & another conservative news channel on; at least not on JuneteenthZ a generic movie or TV show would've been better for me anyway. They had a steady stream of to go orders and in person dining. I guess we're just late to know about
