I was finally tired of the cost, maintenance, mess and frustration that my two 60+ foot tall palms were giving me and I needed an experienced company to handle the complicated removal. The trees were located in a tight spot between my pool and the house so dropping them was not really an option although other companies wanted to. Called Top Leaf and got friendly office staff who set up the estimate appointment. Estimator arrived a few minutes early, assessed the situation and walked me through the options, cost estimates, time it would take - everything. He was up front about risks and what to expect from the job. No upsell, no looking around the yard to find other trees "I need to let them help me with" (yes, others dis that). Settled on having it done right by Top Leaf which meant a crane squeezed into my back yard (this operator was amazing) who handled the lifting and moving - totally worth the cost, without question. Top Leaf crew quickly had the trees down, cut in pieces and later removed. They cleaned up the yard and pool deck and I could barely tell they had done work there. That's how it should be done. I also received follow up calls from the office after completion to see if I was satisfied with the work and if there was anything else I needed. Could not be happier with the service and efficiency of this crew and the cost savings I'll get from no longer having them trimmed. It will offset the cost of the removal in no time. Seriously, these trees were wreaking havoc on my pool with flowers, seeds, and stringy palm leaf debris that was stopping my pool vac 2 to 4 times a week resulting in a green pool which resulted in hundreds in pool chemicals to correct and countless hours cleaning. So glad I did not go with the lowest price crew that thought they could drop chunks of tree into my yard. Do your homework and go with Top Leaf. Professional prompt service! I had them remove a huge pine tree in my backyard, that was very close to the house. The crew was very careful not to damage anything. I contacted Top Leaf Tree service after looking at their profile on Yelp. A few days after my initial phone call I received an estimate from Jason. The estimate was reasonable given the work that needed to be completed. It wasn't the most expensive, but definitely was not the cheapest. I decided to go with Top Leaf because Jason seemed to have a good understanding on how to fix my 2 overgrown Mesquite Trees. After accepting their proposal Kathy set me an appointment for 7 am on a Monday. Fast forward to the the day of the appointment. Usually this would not be a big deal however I was paying cash to the tree trimmers to avoid a 3.5% transaction fee. Therefore, on Monday at 7 am I was waiting at my house to give the money to the tree trimmers. 7 o'clock came and went. After calling the front office (no answer), and finally contacting Jason I discovered they were not going to be there until 7:30 because of traffic from where ever they were coming from. At 7:30 the tree trimmers arrived. Although they were only late by 30 minutes I was not satisfied because of the lack of communication and because I had other things to do that morning. Waiting on them wasn't one of those "things". I will say my trees look good. They definitely are 100x better than what they were. But I feel like if someone is going to a half hour late perhaps a appointment window or a phone call may be appropriate. Because of their tardiness I deducted 2 stars from the rating. Would I use this company again, No. Would I recommend this company to a family or a friend? Probably, but I was warn them on their lack of punctuality. read more

We will be using Top Leaf Tree Service for all of our tree and hedge needs! We were getting the home prepped for house being power washed and fascia painting so needed plant foliage removed (ivy and other) and trees pruned. Additionally, our honey locust trees had a large amount of deadwood to be taken off; 3 large and old pyracantha tree limbs needed to be removed. We also have a lengthy Oleander hedge that had not been properly pruned in years, as well as honeysuckle vine that needed pruning. Lastly, dead wood was removed from two 35+ year old citrus trees. From the beginning of the process to the end we were well-satisfied. I used Yelp reviews to call 3 tree services. While Top Leaf was not inexpensive, they are well-worth the money if you want your yard looking like the yard you imagine. Our backyard has often been called "shangri-la" and Top Leaf has helped it remain as such. Michelle-office person I spoke with a couple of times-was always helpful with taking my initial call and then making the final scheduling. Bert, a certified arborist, came out to do the quote- personable and professional. I was impressed that he came by this morning to see progress while the crew was working. I can't say enough about Ryan, the lead crewman. He knows what he is doing!!! When he and crew arrived (a bit earlier than the 6:00am scheduled time), Ryan went over all the orders with me, and then checked with me a couple of times throughout the work to make sure that Oleanders were cut to the appropriate height and width, and that I understood the ramifications of cutting back the deadwood on the old citrus trees. He and his crew worked tirelessly the 5-6 hours at our home, and we have never had such a spot-on clean-up by a tree service as Top Leaf performed. I had an Argentine Mesquite in my front yard that needed to be removed as it was over growing my yard. Not to mention the thorns on the branches were out of control! Not only did Top Leaf have the lowest bid but they did a phenomenal job, within 3 hours the tree was completely down and they proceeded to grind the stump out 6 inches below ground. Area was completely cleaned up to where you couldn't even tell the tree was there. Very impressed with the work from the original quote with the gentleman that came out up till the crew that came out to take the tree out. The guy that gave me the quote even gave me free advice on what to do with my other trees and watering patterns and acted like he wasn't in a hurry to get out of there. I've used Top Leaf several years to trim and maintain the trees in my yard - their pricing is competitive, and the crews are prompt, professional, courteous and do excellent work. The estimator, Jason, is knowledgeable and clearly explains the proposed work and doesn't try to upsell for work that is not needed. Normally I don't leave reviews online, but my crew today had to deal with my irate neighbor, and they did so professionally and courteously, and I cannot say that I would have been able to remain courteous given the way my neighbor was carrying on. One star docked for the delay in getting the initial quote this time (usually things go smoother, but I had to follow up a few times to get the estimate done). I'm so very glad I found Top Leaf! They were recommended to me by a horticulturalist so I called. I received a call back quickly and Jason came out the next day. He assessed my trees and pointed out se real things I didn't know. Recommended trimming and gave me a written estimate. It seemed reasonable to me. His crew came out the same week and spent an entire morning trimming four trees. One of the guys climbed up into the tree to get to certain parts and did an excellent job. I waited 2 weeks and still nobody called me so I called back and was told someone would call me back. It's been a month now and still nobody contacted me. After paying nearly $8000 to get trees removed, the salesperson came back and said there was more money required to grind out the stumps. Huh? This is my first negative review because my experience with this co. upset me and could have cost me THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. In May, I called a handful of companies to tend to a large Ficus tree that was causing problems in my yard. Only 2 called back. Top Leaf's quote (by Levi) was nearly THREE TIMES what the other co. charged me. This would have put the cost in the thousands vs. the hundreds I paid! Burt responded quicker than I expected as I called him on a day when storms had rolled thru the day before and I knew that they were busy. I was off to a good start. I set up a meeting to review my proposed job - 4 large Sisso trees trimmed form the top to the bottom. They were on time and professional and I had the quote the same day as the visit.
