Decided to go with my sister in law while in town since I rarely get mani/pedi. I decided on acrylic but when Lihn told me of their organic dip powder I chose that option. It was a longer process but it came out better than acrylics. The powders are color so no need for polish or worry about nail color chipping off. I had to shape them to the almond style and they are a bit long for me while I work. But, I make it happen. Clean salon and I loved the kiddy chairs and especially the main pedi chairs for adults! The amber foot soaking sinks are just gorgeous! I would've rather had a pedi done, but since I have a new tattoo on my leg I didn't want to risk it. Now I just need to find a salon in Tampa that has the dipping powders. I felt bad though, my sister in law paid $18 for my nieces toenail polish. She didn't even have them clipped, all she asked for was to polish her toes. I'm pretty sure that should have cost $7 or $8 just for a kids polish. read more

She hurt my nail bed abt 10 times within the first 45 mins. She didn't get all the dip off from my previous set/ so that's still hidden beneath the tragedy she put on my nails today! She made the nail smooth- which is a big must for me- so I like that! BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS SHIT. The shape I wanted was square rounded- not trapezoid. And here I am, with trapezoid shaped nails. Most of them are uneven and aren't covering my whole nail. She are THICK as frick, which isn't normal AT ALL. She didn't bother to even out my nails, so they are at different lengths. I was skeptical on a new place & even more so after reading the reviews. But a personal recommendation is why I went. I had an appointment at 1:30pm on the Saturday before Christmas, they were BUSY! It was somewhat stressful at first as we were to pick a color, then myself & 3 friends were sat away from one another. Once my nail tech (Mimi) started, everything was peaceful. Mimi did an amazing job on my nails. She was understanding as I was concerned about mail damage (which I had caused prior) & then changing my mind about what I wanted twice . My biggest concern about nail places is the feeling that you are being talked about - I absolutely did not get that here. I'll be back in just a few weeks for another dip. read more

First visit they took a chunk of the side of my toe off with nail clippers couldn't walk right for days, another visit I was asked to put my feet in the water and when I did I reacted so fast almost kicking her cause the water was scolding hot and burned me bad couldn't walk right for awhile again the lady flat out says oh I forget cold water...yeah I guess so, the final visit maybe 4 visits total my fiancé decided she wanted her eyebrows done I was not agreeing and I was right they almost blinded her with wax they burned her with the wax on the lower outside corner of her eye near the bottom!? her eyebrows aren't even there. so needless to say she won't be going here ever again read more

This place took advantage of my friend and I, they over charged us 25$ without saying anything to "pre-tip" themselves even though we had planned to tip in cash. And no where online did it say anything about that. Anna who did my nails was a complete snob and cut my finger without apologizing and continued to go over the spot multiple times, and yelled at me. I've come to this salon a few months ago with a group and we had wonderful service. I got a gel pedicure and it looked great. So I decided to come back a few months later (today). Unfortunately my nails look terrible. Initially, everything was going well. I showed the nail tech an inspo photo of the nails I wanted. I picked out the exact colors in the photo. When it was time to trim my acrylics, I told her I wanted almond shaped nails and specified the length I wanted. She seemed uneasy because the nails on the photo weren't almond (they were mostly round) so she was like "why do you want that, that isn't the photo??" But that is the shape I like. She filed one nail, showed me, and it looked good so she continued with the rest. After she finished my right hand I was surprised because the nails looked a lot shorter than I wanted. I told her they were too short and she started getting very upset with me. She kept saying "why didn't you say long nails? You said you wanted short nails?" Which is not true. She tried to gaslight me into thinking I asked for short nails when I said for a fact I wanted long, almond nails. She was very upset that she had to start over, which I understand but we weren't that far into the process, all she had done was apply the tips and only filed them on one hand. It took about 3 minutes to remove the tips which wasn't a big deal IMO. After reapplying the new tips, and filing and shaping them (which still wasn't 100% what I wanted but at this point I didn't want to upset her more), she began applying the acrylic powder. I was confused because her method was different than most nail techs I had seen. She left a lot of space between my cuticles, so it looked like my nails had grown out. On top of that, the nails are so lumpy. She barely smoothed out the acrylic, my nails are wide and thick and have little lumps and uneven texture. When it came time to paint the nails, she did okay, but she did the wrong amount of coats that I asked for. I think at this point she was hellbent on ignoring me and messing up my nails because of what happened earlier. Throughout the appointment she gave me so much attitude and disdain. I left a nice tip which I regret, because after leaving I really took a good look at my nails and they looked terrible. I'm going to have to fix them at home. I already filed them myself so they look a little better. Paid too much money for awful service and nails. Won't be coming back. I also found out a few hours later I have a cut on my finger. I had a wonderful dip manicure here and the man who did it was so nice. I normally don't like getting manicures because I don't like to sit still, but I enjoyed talking to him. He added fake nails because he felt mine weren't long enough and I was happy with the finished product which actually lasted about three weeks without chipping at all. The manicure was 40 dollars. I would come back here more often if it wasn't so far but if you live in this area then....treat yoself! read more

If I could give no star I would I went in to get my nails done and she started on me I don't remember her name but I picked and color and I didn't really like it after it was on so she got aggravated with me which is really unprofessional for a paying costumer. Then she filed it down barely and put the other color on top of that and she acted like she didn't want bother with it and didn't shape them or anything and when it was time to pay she expected a tip!! The husband and wife duo that owns this place in Midlothian Village area makes it head and shoulders above most salons in the area in terms of quality, cleanliness, and staff. I've tried most of the others as I use the time to catch up w good friends (sometimes I go to the one friends normally go to) and always come back to Top Nails. This time I tried their "Grand Deluxe" pedi which included a single use hot parrafin wax which is worth it every now and then-it included a foot and leg massage for a longer time than usual. This was my third time going to Top Nail and my first two experiences were fine. This time I brought my daughter and a friend. I called ahead for an appointment. We arrived on time and we all had to wait at least 15 mins. I got a pedicure and manicure, the girls a manicure. Pedicure was just ok, I then waited another 15-20 mins between pedicure and manicure. Manicure was not good. Application of polish not good. One of the nail techs cut one of the girls cuticles so low she bled for awhile. They knew they cut her and did nothing. My daughter got a French manicure and it did not look great either. Very disappointed after I thought I had found a decent place. read more

First and foremost, this place is not only beautiful inside.... but it is CLEAN! They don't share instruments or anything else between clients (as I had seen in other Midlothian salons.....). The place is super nice inside. You can tell its been recently remodeled. They have a soda machine and serve wine. The pricing is a bit high for their basic services. For a child's basic pedicure and manicure, we paid $55. I have found with most nail places, they don't do a great/thorough job on kids nails- and this place was no exception. Walked in early evening on a Thursday thinking I would have to wait but they were able to take me right away. I do the dip manicure which is more expensive but last longer for me and they charge $40 for theres which is pretty good and they have a good variety of colors. (Other places I've been to charge way more and either don't do dip or have limited colors available.) The color I picked looked completely different on once she started and we both noticed it and she was kind enough to let me change the color and even offered some additional options. This was the best dip manicure I've had in awhile! She cut my nails short how I like, really did a beautiful and thorough job. My nails look flawless!! Eh. I can't say I'll be back here. I walked in as they opened on NYE morning and was one of the first walk-in's to arrive and asked for shellac mani and regular pedi. There were two or three regulars already there that likely have earlier appointment times than when the shop opens. My technician was not super friendly and was totally scatterbrained. Maybe it was just an off day for her or she was tired. She did my pedi first which was ok but I didn't feel she was super thorough on my heels and the massage was weak. When we're done I move over to her manicure table. Initially, she grabbed the wrong polish and started painting the wrong polish (wasn't shellac) so she had to remove everything and start again. Then later she forgot the gold so I had to remind her (twice) and ask for three coats to get the look I wanted. All in all, my shellac did last for 3 weeks. That is why I'm giving 3 Stars. But the services took far too long and I just didn't leave feeling satisfied. In my opinion, there are way too many shops in the area to give them a second shot. read more

Monday afternoon and the salon is not busy, but for some reason it's taking a prolonged period of to start my mani/pedi. Once started, the service is rather slow, somewhat harsh in the actual mail treatment. Close to abrasive. And why during the foot and calf massage they always seem to focus on the shin. It's beyond me. A shin massage is not something that feels good. The mani then takes forever and we have to leave. Tony needs to get his team to be more efficient. Not a good day today.
