I should start by saying I almost never leave reviews, good or bad, for places, but felt compelled to warn others about this place. I had gone here once before and got a decent pedicure but this second, most recent visit was a disaster. While trying to remove a previous coat of polish, the woman who did my pedicure dug so far under my big toe nail that she drew blood. It hurt like crazy but I didnt realize she had drawn blood at first cause it was a red color polish that had been on (and to be honest i wasnt wearing my glasses). But after she took it off I could see there was blood yet she did not acknowledge what she had done. I got home and made sure to disinfect it but it hurt and I could not put pressure on it or wear socks or closed-in shoes for almost a week. This place has scared me off pedicures now! read more

Got there by 5:45 and was told "it's cut off" while all the employees were closing early for no reason so I couldn't get my nails done. It felt very unprofessional and disappointing. Overall, this place is 3 stars. Pros: friendly workers, small bottled water offered to customers. I have a favorite pedicurist, but she is only there when it's really busy in the summers. If I make an appointment with her I will get her if she's working; however I must make it clear that I don't want anyone else. Pedicures with her are done beautifully (5 stars for her)! Cons: even with an appointment, there will be some wait time. A while back, I was told by a friend that the owner did a good job with gel nails ( I think I did powder that time), so I booked an appointment with her. When I got to my car, I noticed one nail was lumpy/looked sloppy, so I never went back for my fingernails again. I go there for pedis only, because it's very convenient for me. The last time I walked in it was 5PM, (they close at 7:30 on weekdays) and asked if my girl was working, which she wasn't. They told me I'd have to wait, which I expected as a walk-in. I asked if I'd have to wait 30 min and was told "maybe" as if the wait might be sooner. After 35 min passed, I was seated. When another 10 minutes passed (at this point I was waiting for 50 min) and no one came to service me, I got up and left telling them I'd come back another time. I had another appointment to get to and knew I wouldn't be able to make my other appointment if they still hadn't even started my pedi. That's my take on Top Nails--not exactly my "top" nail salon. read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would. This place tore apart my toe nail. Never go to Top Nail Spa in Patchogue!! I was getting a pedicure done and this nail tech was digging in the side of my toe nail like she was digging for gold. I was telling her to stop and that it hurt and she refused to stop. I was in pain after and my toe nail was bleeding. I went back in for a refund and they were telling me that it's my fault and they had to get the ingrown toe nail out. I understand having an ingrown and removing it but not when it's painful and my toe is bleeding during and after and they refused to give me a refund. Now my toe is bright red and inflamed and I am afraid I am going to get an infection. Forgot to mention the part they also said "We are saving you money by not going to the doctor to get it removed." This has to be the worst nail spa experience I have ever had in my years living here!!!! read more

Tried this salon on a whim while my regular nail tech at a different salon was on vacation. I get gel polish over acrylic nails. If I could give this place 0 stars I would and I really wish I read the reviews before coming! After just hours, my thumb nail started to chip and after just over 24 hours, the same nail is starting to chip in a second spot. Could they be mixing something into the polish? Who knows.... I should have known better than to let this place do my nails because when I walked in I was greeted with an unpleasant disposition firmly asking "do you have an appointment?" I replied "no, is that a problem?" And after a few seconds of radio silence I was told to sit down in front of someone. Usually, I do make an appointment but I was just popping in, not to mention the place was COMPLETELY empty with only 1 other customer and about 5 nail techs sitting there doing absolutely nothing except painting each other's nails... My nails are shaped mediocre at best and my total was $35 where I usually pay $28 for exactly the same services. Beware! Per previous reviews the polish chipping seems to be a reoccurring thing. Very unsatisfactory experience. I came here for a gel acrylic fill-in. I wasn't thrilled with the outcome but it was good enough. No more then 2 days later the polish completely peels off on more then 1 nail which I have never had happen before especially with gel. So mistakes happen I go back to have it get fixed. No less then 1 day later it happened again with the entire nail peeling off, this being especially frustrating because I had to be somewhere the next day. At this point I am tired of driving back and forth and pretty bummed out my nails weren't nice for the event I was attending and I just wanted a refund. I show up explain my situation and she goes into the usual spiel about how it isn't their fault etc. basically refusing to give me a refund no matter what. Went to top nail on Sunday for a full set of acrylics with gel color. New to the area so thought I would try them out since they are closer than the salon I have been going to. Felt very rushed. Had 3 different employees work on me. My nails are all different lengths and the lady who painted them gave me no time under the uv light before doing the next coat. A layer of gel just peeled off one of my nails and it's wet and sticky. I don't know why she used 2 coats of clear on the top but she did not let me dry more than 2 minutes before finishing and giving me my bill. One of the worst experiences I've had with a nail salon. Lin's nails in bayshore is worth the drive, have never left unhappy from them. Will not be trying any new salons to save on gas. read more

Well, apparently they don't like following directions here bc now I am dealing with INGROWN toe nails. The pedicure was really lazy too, polish came off within a couple days - I already had the color at home, should have just brought in my bottle, so I was able to do touch ups. Normally I love this place. I have gotten my nails done here for a long time. Always have an open chair and are very fast and affordable. However, this past weekend my husband and I got our eyebrows waxed here and they burned my skin above my eye and my husbands in the same place. I didn't notice until I got home and figured it was just sensitive but I woke up the next day with the burn full out. I went back to tell them and get a refund but they refused and told me it was just my sensitive skin. However, my husband got his done as well and he has a smaller burn then mine in the same place. When I told them the wax was too hot, she just kept telling me that my skin was sensitive. Very upset over this since I loved going to this salon but I will not be returning due to this incident. read more
