I have been to many different nail salons and this is by far my favorite. I have always bit my nails so when I go in I always get a full set or a fill. Although I have only gone here a couple of times they always do an amazing job. The women there also do a wonderful job at keeping you comfortable and holding a conversation with you. I also got a pedicure and the massage was awesome. This nail salon is extremely recommended. Price was well worth a job well done. read more

The best and fastest! The owners are very nice and the shop is open late. The massage chairs are wonderful and everything is always clean! I have been a customer for many years at the Carmel location and now exclusively (since it opened) at the New Monterey location. I come in to wax my eyebrows every 2 weeks. I randomly walk in without an appointment and they always have time to do them with no wait. Great for someone busy like me that wants to be in and out. But an appointment would probably help them out. I think they realized I am a regular by now. read more

WORST pedicure ever. New to the area and thought I'd give it a try. $25.00 for a 12minute pedicure. Basically filed and painted the nails. No cuticle work, no massage, and of course no tip. This place is terrible. I've been twice.. Giving them another chance. The only complaint is how unsanitary it is. The pedicure bowl was dirty and the one next to mine was the most disgusting thing. I was hoping they hadn't gotten around to cleaning it yet, but a woman walked in for a pedi and they sat her there! There was hair floating around and the left over water that NEVER drains was filthy looking. She simply filled up the water again and put the woman's feet in. I could have thrown up. To clean mine, she simply put a pump of hand soap in and swished it around. Yet again leaving a small amount of MY water in the bowl for the next person. So disgusting I can't even believe it. I highly recommend going someplace else unless you're a fan of fungus. read more

Got my nails done here today. For the most part the young lady did a good job, but my gel polish didn't come out looking the same as the example nails they showed me. I told the guy (who I assume is the owner or manager) that I was NOT happy with the polish job. Instead of trying to make it right he just told me my total I paid and left extremely dissatisfied. read more

Went to get my nails done here today and was completely unsatisfied. Many things were wrong. First off, they were playing football on there television and I don't know about you but, most ladies want to get there nails done and relax, not watch football. Second one of the manicurist cut open my pinky while filing it. She continued to file and just wiped away the blood as if it was nothing. I won't ever go here again. Such bad service. read more

So i went here with my sis to get my nails done.....the ppl were nice and everything but they did their own thing and didn't let u get what u truly wanted....my sister's two cards were denied even though they went through with no problem at target....i looked over at the pedicure tubs and they were really dirty...finally when i got home i noticed my nails looked like they had grown out ......i don't recommend this place at all! read more

I have gone to Top Nails for about the past few months. I originally came from Georgia where everything is also expensive, like monterey. Their prices are expensive, but I figured I wouldn't complain too much if they did a good job. About a month ago I went and asked for a fill, they insisted on taking the old ones off because they were a 2 and a half week old set, and I agreed because they are the professionals and they would have been able to make them look nicer with a new set. (The full set is 30$ and the fill is 18 I believe) well, she tore my fake nails off and replaced them with new ones, and she seemed to rush the job, and while she was filing she cut my skin, twice but patted it to wipe off the blood and continued. When I asked for her to fix my two thumbs (I'm not super picky but they were oddly shaped) she got mad and rushed it again and she refused to cut my cuticles without charging extra. So I left, annoyed. Well, it gets better. I went a few days ago, and I had a different employee this time so I figured my experience would be better, I was very wrong. I told her I wanted a fill because my nails are brittle and they were not at all ready to be pulled off. But she said no, if she did the full set it would look better, and I said no I wanted a fill. She refused service unless I got a full set. Well, she started pulling off the fake nails and the first nail was painful so I asked her to please go slower because it hurt. Instead of doing that, she started on the second nail and ripped it off fast, which ended up literally ripping my nail in half. Sorry, kinda gross but my finger was bleeding, a lot, and my nail was ripped in half. She patted some of the blood off and put some solution on it and stuck it in nail polish remover (owwwww) until the bleeding slowed down which was around ten minutes later. She then put super glue on my nail to hold it together and stop it from bleeding. And put the fake nail on over it!!! 3 days later(today) it hurt really bad and while I was doing the dishes I felt throbbing so I stopped and it started pussing and bleeding again. Oh and to make it all better, she told me it was my fault because my nails aren't strong enough, and she made me pay the whole 30 $ which is the price for the full set when I wanted the fill in the first place. I will never go back and I hope this helps those of you who are looking for a good, quality nail salon to go to! Sorry for the long review! read more

this place is awesom!! the past two years i have been coming here religiously for all my mani and pedi needs. i have gotten my nails done by almost everyone that works here and they are all fantastic. everyone is really friendly and the best part is that the salon doesnt smell like chemicals. all the tools are really clean and the ladies take there time and do it just how i want everytime. if i loose a nail or my poish is chipped or i need something they always accomodate me with no charge. iv'e had everything to gel manicures to pedicures to waxing...every service is above average! read more

Pedicure was good, usually always is-- but after my last experience here, I will never return. I have been going here for years and kept trying to give them a chance, but this was the last straw. I wanted a fill, just plain 'ol regular fill with regular nail polish-- most basic service and you would think they couldn't mess that up, but they did. Some of my nails had cracked, but instead of taking off the remaining prices they just added new acrylic and tried to "mold" new nails with the acrylic. I told them I just wanted to pay for a new nail instead of them "making" one but they just kept saying that they didn't need to do that. Then they made some of them entirely thicker than others, and different lengths. I told them they weren't even, and I wanted to keep the longer length so I needed a new nail on the shorter one-- the lady was going to just cut the other one down to match the shorter nail until I physically pulled my hand back. Charlie the owner said he would fix, but it was still a disaster. They filed the side of my nails so bad it cut into my cuticles. Obviously the lady, Tina is not really licensed as she did not know what she was doing. Not to mention, they started working on me an hour later than my scheduled appointment because they double booked. To top it all off my nails started cracking and breaking off less than a week later. I've been going here for about a year because they do an ok job. Even though they charge me different prices for the same thing and the wait time is so looongggg, I tolerated them. Today I went in for a full set and waited about 45 minutes, after he had told me 10 minutes. The man in the first chair started working on my nails but he would get up every 2 seconds to do something else or check on other people. As soon as he was done putting the acrylic on my nails he grabbed me by my hand and pulled me to another chair. There was a lady who had gotten a pedicure and was half way through her manicure. He said she was his appointment and put me with another lady while he worked on someone else. The lady he started to work on was getting a pedicure when I got there so I don't understand why he randomly got up and switched us. Or why he started to work on my nails when she was his next appointment. I understand he has to greet guests and check on other people but he could have gotten up and gotten everyone settled. Instead he checked on one person then sat down, then got up again and again and again. Off to another salon I go! read more
