Service was excellent. I was stuck. I called. They said they'd have a guy out there. Would he be leaving in about 15 minutes? He was there to meet me in 20 through my big work truck on top of a flatbed couldn't start it couldn't put in a gear he got it on the bed. He even recommended. It was probably a snapped shifter cable or something low and behold took me to the garage and that's exactly what it was. I honestly forgot the man's name I'm sorry too anyway very knowledgeable very friendly very professional. Let me sit in the cab. Make sure I had a place for my coffee and if the air conditioner and everything else, my battery and my phone is ready to die had two different phone charges in the truck let me use it to charge up my phone really really good job. Literally the WORST. Could not have been any ruder or more unprofessional. After my friends car was towed from an apartment complex 15 minutes after time expired (there were NO signs in front of the spot and no times clearly marked) (they were clearly sitting there waiting to tow people which is also just nasty) he was yelling at us on the phone, hung up and LIED and said we couldn't get the car until 9am the next day. Their signs clearly state 24hours a day for pick up and when we confronted about that he said "well are you going to have an attitude". I could go on and on with how things went after that, its hard to believe anyone can operate a business this way. I dont know how these people sleep at night. My car wouldn't start and I was in need of a tow. My building uses this company because of the height restriction in the garage. The front desk team called Top Notch at 9:22 am and were told there would be a truck in an hour. Three hours later, they still weren't there. Towed the car from my house, says I didn't have the appropriate pass displayed in my window, paid over normal cost just because they felt like charging a premium today, and then damaged the car some and refused to fix or even try working with me on the damages. Head manager Mike escalated the entire situation and then it turned sour. Terrible company for anyone to do business with or even work for it seems by the interactions I had with some of the workers there. read more

God bless this business. I've had to come here a couple of times, and I wouldn't call either experience recommended. I had to wait for somebody to arrive at the business both times, as they were offsite. One of the times, the worker was clearly at a social engagement, told me they'd be there within the hour, then never responded to my call, so I called again almost two hours later, and they said, "Shoot, I got tied up." Based on the background noise, it was safe to say they were still at the party and forgot... so it wasn't until 10pm on a Friday night that I arrived for my car, only to have them trigger the alarm system because they couldn't unlock the front door of the property ‍ They eventually managed to open the door, but I'm grateful that my roommate was with me! Oh my... not to mention the expense! I guess I'm glad I can at least support a local business, but what a mess. read more

Very poor customer support! Top Notch Towing and Transport impounded my son's car in July 2023. The manager, Mike (refused to give his last name), refuses to give any documentation. This has created an issue with the Department of Motor Vehicle Administration in Maryland. I wish I could give zero stars for a rating! read more

After reading another guys review, wow. We were actually lucky. But the nastiness and the feeling this business isn't above the board were confirmed by everything else I've read since. No amount of phony responses to bad reviews can fix what the other long, very specific review here described. Go read that one. Our difficulties were difficulty getting info and generally being a POS to customers. Holding someone else's car while having to get another tow company and insurance involved though? Crazy. I will reiterate all of the points made by the one-star reviews already: this is possibly one of the worst businesses that I have ever been forced to interact with. The man who I assume is the business owner (reading all of the other reviews) is argumentative, disrespectful, and navigates whatever means and processes possible to maximize profit, mostly to the car owner's detriment. My car was hit in front of our AirBnb in the middle of the night and was towed without my knowledge or permission. I would have never used this business if I had done research and read these reviews. The owner was argumentative from the very beginning, refusing to work with me as I had no idea what had happened to my vehicle (had to call the police station instead). He refused and threatened me once I got to the yard not to even touch my own vehicle to take pictures for my own insurance claim, refused to work well with the insurance company (big shoutout to the amazing Progressive agent, who had to call this guy back more than half a dozen times so he would release the vehicle). We even had to hire another towing service to tow the car FROM HIS OWN TOW YARD to the auto shop because he refused to do it himself. THEN HE REFUSED TO LET THE NEW TOW COMPANY TOW MY CAR OUT - because he was charging about $100 a day to fill his own pockets. He refused to take payment from Progressive and would only accept cash (sound like a legitimate business to anyone else?). He finally let the towing company tow the vehicle out once he was caught red-handed on a three-way call between myself, the new towing company (who will get a 5-star review from me - BIG SHOUTOUT TO SMITH AND JOHNSON ROADSIDE AFTER THEY DID HIS JOB FOR HIM), and the Progressive agent - who said she specifically asked him the previous day if we needed any additional paperwork to tow and he said no (he tried to say we didn't have the authorized paperwork to tow when the new tow company arrived). What an awful business and person. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS IF YOU ACTUALLY HAVE A CHOICE IN THE MATTER. Choose Smith and Johnson (who rightfully have an average 4.8 star review) versus this terrible company. So pathetic to earn money this way. read more

Completely unethical business . My car was towed from my apartment complex, like many others . No compassion or sympathy for anyone except making that $360 for a 4 mile tow . Driver was friendly, trucks were clean inside and out! Arrived early and delivered my car safely

My car was impounded from my apartment complex for 1 hour and was charged $350 for pick up even showing permit proof in hand. So disappointed in this scam and can't believe you're okay wasting people's time and money when you were in the wrong. My apartment manager even said they have been so unfriendly in the past, ripping customers off, and won't even take the time to negotiate with customers or apartment complexes. This is unfair and ridiculous and the two men I talked to here should be ashamed of themselves. The entire company should be ashamed of themselves for $350 of less than 1 hour of impoundment of a legal resident. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

My car was broken down on the side of the road. Request a tow to a nearby auto service center, which was 3 miles away. company told me they don't do emergency rows anymore, but the kicker was that they couldn't provide a name of anyone in the area who would do that. Bottom line - not very helpful and while they say they provide towing services it's definitely not for emergencies. Call somewhere else. read more
