I wasn't really in a hurry because the car was working fine, it was just bodywork that had to be done. Then we had the first snowstorm of the season and the weight of the snow was making the wheel mount which got hit in the accident worse, enough that my husband was like I should get this done. Lo and behold it wasn't till I called that Subway told me they had decided not to do the work. What??!! It would've been nice if they had told me. Their reasons were valid reasons but still IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE IF THEY HAD TOLD ME. In fact, when I asked if they could recommend anyone else the person said something like just go down the street I'm sure you'll find someone. I went to Superior Autobody down the street where they treated me with respect and updated me every step of the way. You'd think because there are so many body shops on this street that treating customers well would be a priority. I guess Subway doesn't need my or my family's business. My car doesn't look like a Frankenstein car anymore and it was no thanks at all to Subway. I will have my son go to Superior next time.

Several years ago the front end of one of our cars was damaged when someone backed into us. It was repaired at a collision shop in Annapolis, but the left front fender panel was not properly secured to the body and kept coming loose. I just tapped it back into place each time, but over time it got worse so I looked into getting it repaired properly. I took it back to the body shop that did the original work, and they gave me an estimate of $300+, much more than I wanted to spend. So last week I headed to Chinquapin Round Rd. area where there are at least 3 collision shops. I stopped first at Severn Auto Body-Chinquapin. I hesitated because it's a big facility with a huge parking area, which I assumed would entail paperwork, bureaucracy, and higher costs. But the totally unexpected happened - as I explained to the desk rep that I was looking for an inexpensive practical fix for a loose fender, regional manager Todd Chilcote overhead me, introduced himself, and offered to take a look. He then asked for the keys and said he'd be back in 10 minutes, and he was! The fender was securely fastened again, and when I asked him how much for the service, he said it's FREE! Can you believe?! Now I'm sure that virtually all other vehicles serviced at this body shop need formal estimates and repairs are not free ... but it's nice to know that a senior manager is willing to find practical, simple solutions for their customers. My experience with the service department this week did not go well. I began making calls for a 30K…read moreservice on my Miata beginning Monday around 10:00 a.m. The telephone tree seemed to be broken, because I had to punch the "2" key for service three different times before a human finally answered. I was immediately put on hold for 8.5 minutes then was disconnected. I called right back and went through the faulty telephone tree as before. This time instead of speaking to a person I was asked if I wanted a call back. I did. Two hours later, not having heard from the service department, I made another call. This again wound up with my being offered a call back. I again agreed and again received no call within a reasonable amount of time. A fourth call finally got me through to a service writer. An appointment was made for two days later at 8:15 a.m. I was told that the work would take 1.5-2.0 hours, so I elected to wait at the dealership for repairs. When I arrived for the appointment, I was told the wait would be a minimum of 3.5 hours. I called my wife to pick me up, disrupting both of our morning expectations. There's no excuse for that kind of stupidity. This service department doesn't appear to know what they're doing. When I finally retrieved the car, the bill was 150% more than what I was expecting. If I can find another Mazda dealer in the area, I doubt I'll be returning to Fitzgerald.

Last year, a perfect job was done installing body side moldings on a new Mazda CX5. That same car brushed under a tree branch (oops) and scratches resulted on the roof. Fortunately a staff member rendered an opinion that the scratches could possibly be removed by using a liquid lacquer. And, he did what was needed, easily. Wow, was I impressed. Moreover, there was no charge. I am greatly appreciative and strongly recommend this shop.

When I called to confront them about the inflated price, they didn't even care to explain -- they just said, "Take the job elsewhere if you don't like the price." It's clear this place is trying to rip people off, especially women, with inflated repair costs. I would never recommend them to anyone. Be cautious and do your research before trusting this place -- they'll try to scam you.
