I went early in the morning to get my mom her favorite doughnut - an apple fritter. I mentioned to the cheerful lady that helped me, that I was getting mom a treat for her 85th birthday. Immediately, the response was, "Oh, well you don't have to pay for this. You get one free on your birthday." I offered again to pay, but she insisted that I take it home free for my mom. I thanked the lady and turned to go. Looking back at the doughnut case, I returned to the counter, wanting to purchase a doughnut, simply to show my gratitude and patronage to the store. To my utmost surprise, the lady asked if I wanted a doughnut as well, and then handed me a second apple fritter. When I protested and slid my debit card to her, she slid it right back, saying with a smile, "I won't take your money -- Enjoy the day with your mom." Such wonderful generosity and customer service! Super unorganized. You sit at the drive thru forever listening to the girls chit-chat and no one notices that you are there waiting. When you are finally helped, they are out of every single doughnut you asked for, and so they tell you to come back in 20 minutes because "they are getting more". You do that, and they got more doughnuts supposedly, but still don't have the doughnuts you specifically asked for and don't offer any apologies about it despite me driving an extra 20 minutes to come back. Talk about frustrating. Coffee is inconsistent. Sometimes it tastes burnt, and sometimes you wonder if it even has coffee in it. Today, the staff was complacent, and didn't even look at me when they were talking to me. I came back because THEY told me to, driving all the way back from past Hwy 9, but they offered no help with substitutions for the doughnuts they didn't have. One girl made a snarky remark about it, but I can understand how working in a mediocre doughnut shop might be embarrassing to her, so I wrote it off as a defense mechanism.. No one knew whether I had paid, and then tried to charge me twice, tried to make me another coffee I didn't order...I looked around and I was the only customer, so I'm not sure how this can be so confusing (?). I see why this place gets two stars. Didn't Top Pot used to something special? $18 for a half dozen doughnuts and a cup of coffee? I think not. I stop by here most Mondays for donuts for our office. I love that they have a drive thru and pre-sorted dozen donuts ready to go. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. It's a nice option close to home. They also have ice cream I recently learned. read more

I have been working next door to this shop for the past 3 months, the ladies have been so kind to us by bringing us coffee several times and doughnuts on occasions too. My employees have been grateful for their kind gesture and on breaks always go over for coffee and more doughnuts. The ladies are always kind. For our celebration of the completion of our job, we offered the ladies to come over and sign our ceremony steel beam. Donuts were too thick and too dry! Ew, never had such a bad donut. I was excited for this place because it's the closest coffee/donut shop to my home, drive though took forever! I paid for the best and most expensive donut, "raspberry bullseye" - extremely dissatisfied. Raspberry jam was so poor in quality I think it even smelled like it has gone bad :P everything was off. I also ordered a cappuccino, sadly, also bad. I think they just put a cup of milk on high in the microwave. The service was okay, nothing special, so defiantly never recommending it, stay away! After having a crappy experience at Helping Hands, I needed to go somewhere quick for a coffee and treat. I typed in coffee in my GPS and Top Pot came up. It kind of cheered me up. I first noticed the drive thru and considered doing that instead of possibly experience more rudeness. But I decided that given my mood, I should park the car and take a breather. When I parked in front of the shop, I noticed a guy in my rearview mirror. He kind of was dressed like Colonel Sanders, dressed all in a white suit with a hat. A time traveler perhaps? He ended up opening the door for us, and I couldn't help but chuckle to myself. It's nice to know courteous people still exist. This Top Pot is really nice and spacious. There is a sofa and table in the front and another set towards the back. The girl who helped me wasn't the friendliest, but maybe she was having the same type of crap day I was having. Or maybe it's just that Seattle Freeze thing. At least she didn't ask me to put a muzzle and leash on my kid. That would have been a highlight to my day. *Sarcasm* There was a small selection of donuts (like5), none really seemed appealing to me. No Boston creme or whatever they might call it. So, I got a glazed for my kiddo and a jelly filled one for myself and a small latte. Donuts were fine. I do like the coffee better though. I'm giving this place 3.5 mental stars mainly because I like the space and the ability to get your sh*t to go when you're feeling lazy or just in a damn hurry. It was my saving grace today as well. Typical grocery store donuts except in price. Apple Fritters have no apple flavor whatsoever in them. Where's the apple? There were a few times I thought I saw something that might resemble apple sauce, but that didn't matter because even the mystery goo didn't have an apple flavor. There were literally no apple pieces in the donut. On to the maple bacon bar. The bacon is placed on the bar in strips so it's hard to take a bite without dislodging the entire strip of bacon, and as for the bacon? No, just no. Bacon tastes wonderful on maple bars because it's smoky and salty, their bacon is mellow and boring so it's a pointless addition to the donut. I could go on deconstructing their donut abominations but there's no point, they're all subpar. Too bad since it's pretty close to my house but adios TopPot, we won't be back. read more

I was the only car at the window, no one was in the restaurant, and it still took 5 or 10 mins for them to serve me. I know there were more than 1 employees because I could hear them chattering. Had 6 donuts delivered this morning and only got 3 of the ones that were ordered. The other 3 were whatever they decided to throw in the box. The order that was taped to the top of the box was correct but we got what we got with no explanation. Becoming a trend with any place doing take out orders. They throw whatever in the bag/box and you don't know until you get it. They don't care because most people won't say or do anything. Too bad they take your money and get paid for doing a half assed job. Sure, it's only donuts but they're not free. You still have to give up your money with the reasonable expectation of getting what you actually wanted. read more

I love this place. The staff is great, it's always clean, the maple bars are awesome. If you're complaining about how they don't have your favorite donut left, get your butt there sooner. Tried to pick up donuts to take into the office on my way into work on a Friday. The website clearly says they are open at 6am. The "open" sign was off but I pulled over to the drivethru thinking maybe just the inside was closed. An employee opened the window and I was informed they weren't actually opening until 7. I asked if there were special hours or something on that particular date and she replied "no it's just our weekend hours". For a second I thought I had gotten up far too early on a Saturday, so I said "...but it's Friday, right?" and she replied "yeah, but that's like our weekend". What the heck? Why wouldn't a coffee/donut place be open at 6am during the week for people going into work? I'm also pretty sure I've been here on a Friday before with no problem. They get 2 stars instead of 1 because they had Caspar Babypants put on a free show about 1 1/2 years ago. Otherwise there are a lot of better options around this area. If you are like me you wonder why people apparently keep going back to a business after one bad experience and have multiple bad experiences to incorporate into a review. For me the answer is simple: I've got gift cards and am never near their other locations... Top Pot in Wedgewood was my favorite when I lived in the city, but I have been consistently disappointed by this shop. I have come twice when they are completely out of donuts and I don't think I have been in at any time when they actually had maple bars. The customer service here isn't terrible, but I would say that it has been consistently indifferent to customers every time I have been in. Cons / feedback: - Usually out of donuts and not made fresh on site - I roll my eyes that they have a tip line on the receipt for a gift card. They throw a $2 donut in bag and hand receipt to sign with a tip line. I would be embarrassed by this if I worked there. read more

Traveling to Seattle / Bothell for work this week and checked in with friends that know the area. Everyone said you have to try Top Pot. I picked up a couple dozen for the office on my way into work. I had called ahead and requested an assortment and asked them to leave out the coconut, no issues with that and the assortment they gave us was impressive. Lots of variety and the office was happy, although any doughnut might have elicited that response. The girls in the store were really nice and helpful. They put together a list of what doughnuts they had given us, and while waiting for the list I got some great recommendations for the area and downtown Seattle. I feel like I need to help these guys out with a good review! What's up with all the haters?! Used to love he coffee shop that was in this building earlier, but after my friend told me it had changed ownership and become a Top Pot donuts, I had to check it out. The only drawback for them is the location- unless you know it's there you wouldn't see it from Bothell Everett Hwy. they should put some advertising out on the main road! :-) As soon as I walked inside, I was amazed at how much larger the small building seemed . It's amazing what new furniture can do :-) I was very happy with the selection of donuts, and the staff was very helpful in explaining their pricing structure. I found it very simple to understand. Favors are color coded, and if you buy a half or full dozen you can mix and match any type of donuts. I bought a half dozen, and an Americano, and was very happy with the quality of the coffee. I'm not sure about the drive thru , but I was happy overall with my experience. read more

Brought a Dozen to the movers that are working at our house Had 4-5 teenage boys in and out of the house today as well, and by the end of the day we still had 7. I cannot say enough good things about top pot and specifically the Bothell location. I'm a regular. I come in every morning for my coffee. The gals are always super sweet and quick! A couple weeks ago I had to call in for a giant order. We were having a company meeting and needed a huge order. I called in ahead of time and a woman named Shelly helped me out. She was beyond helpful. She made special accommodations to make sure they had enough of the correct type of doughnuts for the meeting. When I arrived for pick up, everything was boxed and ready to go!!! I will continue to be a regular of this location! These people really have it down! read more

I stopped by for a pit stop and caffeine refill here. I ordered a 12 oz iced Americano. It tasted fine. After ordering however I noticed that the 12 oz and 16 oz were the same price. I probably should have ordered the 16 oz (unless it's the same number of shots with just more water? I don't know) but oh well. Bathrooms were clean and staff was friendly enough. I didn't have a doughnut here, but I actually had one earlier this week at work when someone brought some in (chocolate cake doughnut with chocolate frosting).
