THE best place. I love a good family run, mom & pop shop and Tyler's Donut House checks all the boxes. It's full of humble charm and has all the classics you'd expect from a great donut spot. We showed up on a Sunday at 1:30 PM, and the case was 99% cleared out (as it should be, that's how you know it's good!). The only thing left were the buttermilk bars, which I had never tried before. We grabbed one of each: glazed, chocolate, maple, and plain. OMG. These are now my new favorite donuts. The perfectly crisp outer edges and that fluffy-but-dense inside? Sooo good. We stopped in today late in the afternoon on NYE. I'm not a donut person, but I had a craving when I saw the sign. I was looking for an old fashioned, but figured it was too late. When we walked in we saw the best looking huge apple fritters. We grabbed some for the family. Oh my goodness, it was amazing. It was late in the afternoon and it was still very moist inside. It was crunchy on the edges. It did not have a chemical flavor like some bakeries. I highly recommend Tyler's. My husband liked the maple donut as well. Stopped by Tyler's Donut House this morning around 10:45 a.m., Wednesday 24 May 2023. There was one group leaving and one group sitting inside. The store front sign reads Tyler's Donuts and the branding on the door has the name Tyler's Donut House with other business info. Inside the entrance is the donut display case (on the right) with prices for offerings posted on the wall above and behind the case. Looking over the options, I went with a plain buttermilk bar donut for myself and a blueberry fritter for my parents. It was the last of each in the display case. The worker who helped me was upbeat and professional, even asking if I wanted a plain buttermilk bar when it was the last one in the case. The total came to $4.94 with tax. I paid with five $1 bills, tipping the change plus another dollar bill. Both donuts were delicious. I ate the plain buttermilk bar in one go and my parents let me have a pinch of theirs. The texture of both donuts was more towards the dense end of a fluffy to dense spectrum. I enjoyed this as it made each bite satisfying on its own. The flavor of the buttermilk bar was subtle and worked well without a glaze, frosting, or icing. The blueberry fritter was sweeter and the glaze not too thick. read more

Everything about this place is absolutely fantastic--the food, the service, and the cheerful atmosphere! The owner is such a nice guy; he even let me slide one time when I was short two bucks. I came back a couple of days later to pay him back, and he seemed pleasantly surprised! After a previous stop at a donut spot that was closed, we again, pulled off the road and came here. It was out of the way, but proved to be worth it. The donuts were light, fluffy and had a crisp layer of crust. The icing was flavorful and sweet and covered the pastry well. These days, most donuts are too heavy, almost cake light and the frosting is thin and weak. We love Tyler's donuts, we live close by and it's one of our favorites but they need to know something: we adopted our daughter at birth, she is now five. We are a white couple and she is black. No matter how many times we take her into the shop we are asked loudly if we are babysitting. It's getting to the point where it feels like a micro aggression. She's old enough now to notice these sort of things and while she is fully aware she is adopted and aware of her story, it's getting really old. It's making us not want to come in anymore. Families are created in a lot of different ways, you don't need to look the same to be a family and Tyler's needs to instruct their staff to be aware of how their words can effect even their littlest customers. Donuts are fresh. Got a chocolate covered donut that had more donut and not enough glaze. That was disappointing. Bismarck was delicious and had a copious amount of crème's filling. Donut hole was soft and the right amount of sweet. Last thing I want to review is their bear claw. It looks like a bear claw but it's not your typical almond filled flaky pastry with slivered almonds. Instead it's a glazed donut filled with apple filling and I'm gonna assume the topping are ground almonds. Very different. Overall 3 out of 5 stars. read more
