We had B Success Remodeling refinish our floors a few years ago, but to this day, I have not been…read moreable to let the horrible job they did go. We bought a foreclosure and were updating it, and at the time were having the painters paint the house while I was looking for a floor contractor to refinish and darken the floors. The main contact at the paint company we were using recommended Russ from B Success Remodeling, saying he was the contractor that always helped them when it was a bigger reno job they were working on. Russ was great to work with. He returned phone calls and very professional. The quote was the lowest we received. We hired him without seeing reviews or checking referrals, trusting he came recommended from a painting company that had phenomenal reviews. During the job, while sanding the floors with the giant sanding machine, nothing was covered up or blocked off with plastic, resulting in a thick layer of dust on everything. At first, I thought it was part of the process, until a different contractor brought it up and said how he would have done it by taping off the area with a plastic tarp to contain the dust. Knowing the way it was done and how it should be done was annoying, but we moved on. After the job was finished, we walked in, saw the darker floors (which we loved the color), were appreciative of them squeezing us in, so we paid them the remaining balance and they were gone. This was our first house, our first remodel, and we have since learned the hard way how we have to inspect and examine everything thoroughly before paying a contractor. We weren't living in the house, so it wasn't until shortly later that the painters were finishing up a bathroom that one of them dripped a little paint on the floor. He came to me and said that he didn't think there were 3 coats of 'whatever they put on the floor' on (I'm a housewife-I don't know the lingo and don't remember). We had written 3 coats in the contract. The painter said that if there were 3 coats, he would be able to just wipe the paint up right away, but instead it had actually begun to absorb into the floor. The more I began to examine the job, the more angry I got. First of all, aside from being shorted a coat, if you ran your hand along places like the stairs, it was very rough and uneven, like it wasn't sanded properly. Next, the big one...if you look around edges and corners, the dark stain does not cover the orange old oak floor entirely. It was as if the guy ran their rag as quick as they could without caring to do a good job. Throughout the house, we have patches of orange floor showing. They're not huge spots, but it's just sloppy. I called Russ to confront him, and at first he said his guys put 3 coats on but that'd he'd call them and call me back. He called back and said that they indeed had put two. I was angry. There was a reason that we had the floors done first. Since they had left, we ripped out and put in all new white trim. At least they came back to "fix" it...they sanded down the floors, but meanwhile, the sanding machine chipped the trim. The coat that was applied left yellow stains on the trim. There was stain dripping on the stairs. It was a mess. The ONLY good thing about dealing with B Success was Russ--he really did try to make it better. However, at the end of one of our conversations, he said "What do you expect? You get what you pay for." I could not even make that up--those words have haunted me since because I've struggled between finding a good value and paying more, expecting better service, which is not always the case. It has been 3 and a half years since we've moved in, but I think writing this review is the closure I need to put it to rest. One day when we can afford it, we will have a more reputable company redo our floors. In the meantime, we've learned to live with it. Thankfully, the color looks good so when people walk in, they don't see the mess of a job it was. Needless to say, we will not be hiring B Success Remodeling again. ( I cannot find where to post pictures, but if I do, I will. Otherwise, if there's a way to contact me through yelp and you would like to see them, feel free.)

Superb communication. Great results. Fair price. Would hire again…read more Our project was a subfloor repair in our upstairs bathroom. This meant a demo of wood, demo of tile, new carpentry, new tile, reinstall of a fixture, additional pipe, and new baseboards. We decided (without any pressure for add-ons) to extend the work to the whole bathroom floor instead of just the localized area. So our results feel like not just a repair, but a remodel. Things that stood out: Communication - We felt the main point of contact, Anthony, was clear and helpful through the whole process. This is true of every crew member we interactacted with as well. Questions were answered patiently, things were explained clearly, we new what to expect next, there were no overpromises. Everyone that came into our home was respectful. Our input was sought at appropriate times, and we were shown progress consistently. Execution - Everyone seemed competent and capable of the tasks at hand. The results look good, feel good, and inspire confidence. If there was a mess made, it was promptly cleaned up. If there was a concern, it was handled appropriately. Initially I was a little skeptical of the proposed timeline but after seeing the work in action it made sense and was accurate. I would advise any others to just be ready to communicate a little, and inspect the results at each stage, since there might be use of different crews for one stage or another. It felt like a smooth project overall, with a little touchup at the end. Also, someone cleaned our bathroom sink. Didn't even ask for that!

They kept me consistently in the loop and were proactive every step of the way. There were a few items that didn't make it into the original scope of work, and Anthony took care of them without any additional cost. Any change orders I requested were handled professionally and without issue. The project came in on budget and on timeline, and they were also great about offering suggestions and options to help keep costs down. His quote was on the lower end of the others we received, and the quality of work was excellent, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I highly recommend Anthony and his team.

First we hired Best to fix a cracked water seal pan in the upstairs standup shower...they fixed it to perfection while completely rebuilding the shower, the tiles, and the pipes. This time - we hired Best to do a complete bathroom renovation... I just continue to be blown away by the owner - Steve Best. His communication is what sets him apart from every other contractor. He's basically a customer's dream to partner with on a project. Rebecca at the office emails you for the admin side - keeping aligned with updates and transactions. Steve texts/calls you almost daily with the gameplan, the strategic approach, the agenda and schedule. I'm so thankful because unlike most contractors, Steve keeps everything on schedule - running daily - and makes sure his team gets to the finish line efficiently, quickly, and to satisfaction. Steve's crew works every day...and they put in a full day's work. They don't leave you hanging, they don't ghost you for days upon weeks without explanation and they NEVER leave a mess. They work super clean and always pickup after themselves. They start the job. They work at the job every day. They finish the job. All along the journey you're clued in, you're given timelines and reasoning...and you're a part of a collaboration with Steve to make sure the job gets done right! If there were a grade higher than A+ ...that's what I'd give Steve and his crew. HIRE THEM ASAP, you'll have zero regrets!
