I am so happy with the work done by this company!! I saw an ad in Home Concepts Magazine and called for an estimate. I had deep cabinets and would have to pull all the cans and packages out to see what I already had at home. Having pull out drawers was something that I felt would really help in organizing the cabinets and make it so much easier to look at what was in the back of the cabinets. I am SO happy I had this company install shelves in my kitchen-- now nothing gets lost in the netherlands of the back cabinets and I am not spending the next month of weekends trying to install them myself. I had 10 shelves installed in October 2011 and am very happy with the service I received and with the shelves themselves. I looked into buying them directly and installing myself, and going through this company cost about 1/3 - 1/4 more than buying the shelves online (though going online is for shelves only, not installation, of course, whereas their cost includes installation). So after considering it for awhile, I'm really glad I just had them do it and now can be done with it and use my kitchen. It's a bit of a pricey endeavor, but it was definitely worth it for us since it makes the kitchen so much more functional and since we plan on being here a long time. The benefits for me were (as mentioned above) I'm not dealing with the frustration and wait of installing them myself or the marital problems of waiting for my husband to install, and another big plus is that they do custom sizes-- and take out center posts so that you can have one large pull-out in a two door cabinet. So I think I get a lot more space out of it than I would have if we ordered them in non-custom sizes. Also, Curtis was our installer and he did a really good job. Called us back promptly and explained everything, plus I was comfortable having him in my home (with two young children), which is a big consideration for me. Really nice and friendly guy. Also, I like using local companies when I can and have found that the very small local companies tend to give better service than the 'big guys' and are usually comparable or better in price. Takes a little more homework than just going to one of the big chains or going with the big newspaper advertisers, but in my experience it has been worth it in the end. We had a horrible experience with a "big name" store and Tom came in and was able to take much of their incompetent handiwork and make it work. I'm just a few months behind in doing this review for Pull Out Shelves. Bought our house in December and loved that all kitchen cabinets had pull out shelving. After we were in and I started loading the pantry shelves with food I noticed the shelves continued to roll out so I had to keep the pantry door in a position so the shelves would not roll out. Already spent enough money on the purchase so I checked and found that Pull Out Shelves had done the install several years ago. Called and made appt for Curtis to come out to look. Found out later that he is one of the owners and takes his job to heart. He apologized and said the original install was not done properly and the shelving was pulling the pantry shelves down and would eventually come falling down. Curtis said he would have to rebuild the entire unit, redo the spacing of the drawers and take the weight off the shelves. I believe he only charged me $100 to correct this but I felt badly that he had to redo work. I bought more shelving for my linen cabinets to help offset his work. We had to reschedule a couple of times because my husband fell off a ladder and needed back surgery after being in the house 3 days. It took him about 8 hours to redo the pantry shelving which was a narrow space to begin with. But he did an outstanding job and has the utmost regard for doing things right the first time. I have hired Top Shelf Pull Outs many times, probably 4 or so now and we are still making our way through the house! We will definitely be hiring them again. We got pull outs installed in some of the kitchen cabinets, replaced a drawer with a nice built-in organizer, replaced the pull out trashcan, and completely remodeled the pantry. It is absolutely worth it! I I am no longer crawling around or pulling everything out to get to one thing. Not only did we replace the old metal inserts that (for the drawers) with quality wood ones but in some cases we were able to expand our space to the full cabinet depth. Now, we have more space and the pull out comes ALL the way out so I am not reaching in the back for things (or never seeing them again). Everyone is very nice and accommodating. They are respectful, wear masks when in the house and maintain a distance of 6 feet. read more
