I somehow spent $40 for a meh experience and I'm still kicking myself for it days later. I made an appointment for my friend and I for pedicures, (thankfully) in advance because the salon was pretty busy. I arrived early and was told to pick a color, so I made a selection and went back to the desk to say I was ready. One of the women at the desk asked if I had an appointment, to which I informed her that I did and she just helped me with the check in. Already off to a not-so-great start, my friend arrived and we made it to our chairs. They upcharge $3 for "weekly" polish, but the majority of their wall is littered with only these types. The pedicure went smoothly enough and I decided to treat myself to a 10-minute massage while I was still in the chair. It mostly consisted of the specialist running her hands on my legs, but not actually massaging, so that was a complete waste. I wore flip flops until I was home and I noticed that both of my big toes already showed what looked like wear and tear you normally get after a week or two of a new pedi. My most recent visit (Saturday) I sat down with the woman in the third chair on the right side and filed my nail down to nothing. She hurt my finger and then when I proceeded to say "ow" she goes "oh that hurts?" YES that hurts you filed my nail down to a nub.. then when she was putting the powder on my nails, they were not even. She didn't buff them down so that they were smooth nor did she filed them to the shape I wanted. Our conversation went as followed: "You want square?" "No I'd like round please" "OH square round" "No just round please" Now when you look at the pictures I posted they are in no way ROUND. ALSO, as I write this review on Thursday, merely 5 days after I had gotten them done they have chipped. For the money they charge my nails should be indestructible and exactly what I asked for. Decent place in town to get your nails done, and I think the best in the area for the price. They offer SNS (the powder gel) manicure, which is hard to find at most places. The green tea spa pedicure is great, comes with a 20 min foot massage. When you get a manicure, there is a man walking around offering a free massage. He offers to extend the time if you want, which I usually get. It's worth every penny, he does a great job of getting out the tension in my shoulders. I just left Top Style Nails and I am so disappointed. The nail techs are getting less and less qualified. I do not believe they have cosmetology licenses as well. They always try to up-sell you and it ends up being $60 just for a crappy pedicure. My second two experiences, however, were rushed and legitimately PAINFUL. Each time, the woman doing my nails had to stop and apologize because the pain was so bad I reflexively jerked my hands away. Photos that are attached are taken exactly 24 hours after I left the salon, so my nails should look fresh and beautiful - not cheaply painted and grown out. I'm from Florida and every time I visit New Jersey I go to Top Style Nails. The nail techs always did a good job and this salon was my to go to nail salon until my last visit. All it took was bad management, poor quality gel nail polish and a nasty disrespectful front receptionist or whatever she was to lose me as a customer. I had my manicure done this time, but the next day the glittery purple gel color (#112) started turning yellowish and looking spotty and ugly. I called them and made an appointment so they can fix the issue at no cost to me. When I showed up, they wanted to use the same exact color to redo the nails or they wanted to charge me $25 to use a different color. I told the bratty girl in the front who was discussing this with me that that's not what I was told and it wouldn't make sense to use the same color because the same thing will happen again and I only wanted a similar non glitter color anyways. She said I must've put my hands in something that caused it to change color, I told her I did nothing out of the ordinary than just cook and usual light house work since Im visiting in NJ and it's not like I work here and get exposed to some kind of chemicals or radiation at any job. She was talking over me and raised her voice at me when I was explaining the last part. At that time she has sat me down with a tech who already started removing the old nail polish as I was getting furious.they were both talking to each other (not English so I couldn't understand what they were saying) as I was explaining that it wasn't my fault and everything. When I said that this is the last time I come here and that I was going to leave a "nice" review, the tech (Sherly or Sheryl who seemed to be a manager or a supervisor) said something so that bratty girl said in an aggressive tone (only this time no charge just this time) I told her first of all thats how it should be, second of all don't talk to me in this tone like you're doing me a favor. I also told her that this will still be my last time here anyways . This was a very disappointing and stressful experience and I will never go there again. Their ratings on yelp is 2.5 stars and now I know why. When the nail tech/manager (Sheryl) finished I still gave her a $10 tip. This place never does me wrong!!! ALL THE GIRLS ARE GREAT! How do I know? Because I've pretty much have had all of them do my hands or feet and they all come out the same results. Whoever trains them does a great job. The place is spotless. Very hygienic & clean. For the feet they use a one time use kit. They even have spa treatments for pedicures. The amount of colors options line the front half of the salon. From regular, to gel, to powder gel, they have every color you can think of and more. Walk ins are always welcomed. Weekends are VERY busy, but the great thing is, you never have to wait long. They have more than 40 girls working on the weekends! Weekdays would be best to make an appointment so you do not have to wait more than 10 mins. I drive more than 45 mins on a given weekend to come here since I moved in October. read more

I love visiting this Nail Salon before but decided to discontinue. I won't recommend this branch until the Management filtered their good ones from the bad. It happened twice wherein after explaining a couple of times what my nails shape should look like, the Manicurists just continued to shorten my nails & do whatever they like. I went there yesterday and the lady assigned to me started to murmur in Chinese with her deepest sighs. She was not happy when I was trying to explain it to her & telling me that my nails were already short and she can't make semi-round edges. My toenails were long but since she keeps on cutting it, she messed it up. Until Meggie came to the rescue after I requested to change her (I didn't bother to get her name), and Meggie was able to save it somehow even it was already that short. I am not going to put all the blame to the Manicurists, but to the Management of this branch. If you hire a new Manicurists, make sure to train them how to be a Nail Technician too, not just because they can apply nail polish they are already fit for the job. It should be a combination of both because it does not make sense to apply the polish into your 10 toenails that are in different shapes like round, square, oblong and slanted position. The lady from yesterday does not even know how to hold a file - goodness gracious! She can cut nails and that's it! Also, a piece of advice - it would be best if they could at least understand basic English so it won't be too difficult for them when a Client gives them instructions. Another one I'd like to add is the lady named, Cindy. When I visited this branch a month ago, she was advised to do my nails and I saw her disgusted face from afar. I waited and found out she was with another new walk-in Client. What an attitude! There are a few faces I know that are really good - knows how to smile and would even suggest what's best for your nails in terms of colors & shapes. I go there for the SNS manicures ONLY...and even then, you really have to be lucky to get a gd manicurist who doesn't finish in 20 minutes due to rushing the job. What is attractive to me is that I have 10 days to return to fix any problems that occur with my nails! However, The pedicures are a complete nightmare. I always regret coming here. They rush, they're not that nice, the polish doesn't last, and the only benefit is that there are so many people working that there's very often just a short wait. On 6.21 I came back bc all 6 were lifting (tip and gel completely separated from my nail). The girl said 3 were fine and didn't want to replace them, so she replaced 3 (this took 1 hour btw). On 6.22.19 two nails that were done 6.20 had already cracked At the top, but who has time to go sit an hour to fix nails on your sister's wedding day? Not me! so I just dealt with it. They assure you that you have a 10 day warranty on the nails. I kid you not: yesterday 7.1.19 the nails just started chipping off from the bottom. I guess they had lifted near the cuticle. I am here 7.2.19 on my lunch break bc I was smoothing my hair back and one nail literally ripped off and took half my actual nail with it. The girl repeated "oh we have a 10 day warranty" which is (in)convenient, considering that on day 11/12 the entire set essentially falls off .
