Recently moved to Pleasanton and needed a new nail salon for pedicures. Because I get my nails done by someone in San Mateo who I've been going to for years.. Lily always does my pedicures and she does a phenomenal job, specially with the polish part which I'm very picky about. Today she did my builder gel fill on a set that I already had plus cat eye gel polish. I was nervous at first having someone else do my nails but she did a superb job. Based on the recommendation from a friend I came by here today for a (walk-in) pedicure. I chose the basic pedicure which was fantastic! Scrubbing, paraffin wax, and a little massage, plus a great assortment of polishes to choose from. I noticed that a few other patrons chose an upgraded pedicure. I'll have to check those out, but I was % satisfied with my pedicure. Jennifer was great! The shop is very clean and I enjoyed listening to the music in the background. I was in search of a new nail salon in the area and stumbled upon Top Ten Nails on Yelp. This place exceeded my expectations in every way! The salon is very clean , staff are friendly and professional and services are top notch ! They did a wonderful job on my pedicure. They were very professional in their work. After my pedicure, the messeuse gave me a fabulous 20 min foot massage. So relaxing, I almost dozed off! My mom recommended me this place and it was more expensive than my usual place, so I thought it would be fine. The service overall was great and my nails looked really good! I got dip acrylic nails and a regular pedicure, and not even a week later, one of the nails chipped, another one broke off randomly, and my pedicure is chipped after a week even though both usually last at least 2 weeks before chipping or breaking off. Normally, I don't leave a review, but I seem to be having bad luck when I get my nails done. read more

This used to be my favorite nail salon I always loved the quality of their work and their prices. However, I have switched salons in recent years due to the decline in quality and care. It is still a good experience overall but I had more issues with my nails than I was willing to put up with. A few different times there were mistakes with my nails which left me unhappy and while they made sure I could come back in another day and get them fixed I just grew tired of this process repeating. I guess Pleasanton is just lacking a decent nail salon. Staff is extremely impolite and unprofessional, no smile on their faces (only once at the end, after receiving their tips). In addition, two technicians who were doing my manicure and pedicure don't know what they are doing. Skin around my toes wasn't cut, and when asked about it, a rude technician snapped at me telling me I need to make a longer appointment !!! Strange! I didn't want or asked for paraffin treatment, but you don't have right to say anything, they do it anyway for about 1-2 min. Mani and pedi done on Friday late afternoon, and by Sunday morning polish is almost gone ( hands). Toes - some "metallic" type red polish is used, completely off of what I have asked for. Terrible! Expensive place , $60 for what ?! I would NOT recommend this place. My first and last time going there. read more

I've been coming to this place for a long time now and when my daughters want there nails done they come here also. My favorite person to get it done is Linda, she's efficient, fast and accurate and knows how to do the shape I like. I've tried other places in the past, but find that these nails last longer because of here techniques she uses. I usually get gel color which is worth it because it is less likely to chip. Had dip nails and gel pedicure. My pedicure looks ok, but the lady doing it was rude, burned my foot with the gel lamp even after I asked her to move it back twice and put no effort into my the foot massage part. My dip is pretty bad, over-extended in some places and missing color in other spots. Also for the cost of $105 total I'm no longer interested in paying for nail salons that let their employees talk about customers. Salons that value their customers are out there, and they cost the same (except they get a better tip). read more

Walked in and was greeted kindly by two ladies. They asked us to sit down and choose our colors. We made an appointment at one and they probably took as at like 1:05, which is perfect compared to other salons who love to take me super late. They were really accommodating to my friend who was on crutches and even went back outside to look for the cash that she had dropped. They also let her charge her phone which was sweet. I requested acrylics and showed her a photo and she did EXACTLY what I wanted. It only took about 45 minutes and the lady I got was super friendly after I told her about my day and that I had my first day of school tomorrow she was very funny and told stories about her kid's first day of school. I went here about a year ago and I also loved my nails but this place is on the other side of town so I just went to another place closer. Well.. after a terrible experience at my old salon I decided to go back to this place that did a super good job last time. I was not disappointed and tipped very well. I made an appointment with Luna who I had seen two weeks before and when I arrived for my appointment, I was given to someone else to do my gel Nails another girl was sssigned to me by the name of Jennifer. She left one nail, very lumpy and all thick, and a couple started to chip two days later. She left polish on my skin. It wasn't that noticeable, but there were streaks because it was silver. I came here a couple weeks ago for a much needed appointment. They were able to squeeze me in an hour before closing and I got a full set and pedicure. They had everything set up outside under a tent to follow guidelines. Everyone wore masks or face shields and they also had the screens in between the workers and customers. They put hand sanitizer on you upon arrival and were very clean. Linda did my nails and did a wonderful job. She was very fast but the quality was amazing and I loved the almond shape. Today I went back for a fill and Kim did my nails. I couldn't find the right nude color but Kim was very patient and helped me find the perfect shade! (pictured below) My nails came out beautifully. Note: they did a temperature check on customers upon entry. They are now doing the appointments inside (still using screens in between workers/customers). Overall everyone is really nice and helpful. They are taking the right precautions to keep everyone safe during this time. I will definitely be coming back! read more

I feel like this nail salon is better Gel manicure: I've had countless gel manicures and this place skips a couple steps that are typical elsewhere. The polish was also weirdly inconsistent. Instead of two coats of color the top coat she bounced around and did up to 4 coats of color on some nails resulting in a goopy looking nail. Also, no massage or lotion, just rubbed the cuticle oil into my skin at the end. Spa Pedicure: I was pleasantly surprised that the wax treatment was part of this. That's where the good stops. My nail length is uneven and before I even left had smudges. She hit my big toe putting on my sandals and just lightly touched it back into place - leaving a finger print, and the paper she used to separate my toes ended up rubbing my last two toes. Also, the massage was more of a shin rub with occasion toe pull and foot grazing. AND they were not friendly at all. Didn't make eye contact at all and just got up when they finished. When I went to pay by debit I'm informed (as she's running my card) that they have an ATM in back for cash only gratuity and they charge 3% for debit. So, instead of me pulling cash for everything I paid two transaction fees because she ran my card before telling me about the cash gratuity. They just lost a great customer. I'm new to Pleasanton and have yet to find a salon I love. UPDATE: Less than 24 hours after my gel manicure, one of my nails started peeling, so I went back & they fixed it. Also, I was incorrect in my initial review, they didn't charge me a transaction fee to run my debit card, only to pull cash. read more

My friend and I had appointments at another salon that didn't work out (the other salon had lost access to water.... blah blah blah wordy story...) It was a special day we had planned with our daughters and we needed a plan B for sure. SO- we called Top Ten and they were able to accommodate 6 of us, just an hour later. When we got there, they were super friendly, and I was optimistic that it was going to be a really good experience. The salon is clean and spacious. The decor is nice. I had a pedicure which I really enjoyed. My daughters had both manicures and pedicures, and they loved all of it! The service is great, and I found the prices to be very reasonable. They also provide waxing services. In fact I ditched my mustache for only 7.00. It was wonderful that they squeezed us in last minute, and this is definitely my new nail spot! The thing that stands out the most is that they don't rush. I feel like the last few pedicures I've had at other places have been too speedy. Today was very relaxing, and I am grateful. Went here yesterday with a GC that my mom had given me for a pedicure... I had this GC for some time, but still I would think that wouldn't matter... I got a pedicure and dip nail service.... after about 10 minutes of them trying to talk me out of dipped nails I said no that was what I wanted.... they seemed annoyed... whatevs Went to pay and they looked at the GC as if it as a foreign object? They refused to honor it... after explaining that regardless of when it was purchased the establishment already received the monies so I am unsure of the issue??? This was my first time going to top ten nails, also my first time getting tips! I was very excited. When we walked in the place smelled way to much like toxic smells, I know it's a nail salon but other places do not smell like this. She started doing my nails and didn't seem that friendly and didn't talk to me that much which was fine but other nail salons are definitely more friendly. The only time she would really talk to me is when she would check in, ex: the nail length was good, which I appreciated as other salons normally don't do that. They were also very open to inspiration pictures and tried to make mine look exact. The actual experience hurt a lot I've never gotten tips/acrylics before so maybe that's just how they feel but sometimes the lady would file my cuticles which she had just cut so it really hurt. It seemed like she was going all over the place with the nail file but it's ok. It did seem like she was taking her time doing my nails which I appreciated, she kept filing and putting a machine on them until they looked really good. I got French tips and they look good, not perfect but I still love them! I wouldn't say I recommend more over if your wondering if you should go, the salon is fine so sure!
