We tried this thai place for the first time and were extremely happy with our delivery . ordered the thai roasted chicken which was very flavorful and delicious and plentiful , moist dark meat neatly sliced with no bones !!!! and a not too sweet dipping sauce was great! the eggplant with basil was so plentiful with meat that it will be lunch or dinner tonight. the pad see ew was equally generous in noodles and pork . the only general correction is underseasoning , we would have liked the flavors to be stronger... we added some real salt and made it more tasty! definitely on our new Thai restaurant for takeout . read more

Good food, but excruciatingly slow service. There was only one lady working in the front, and she kept disappearing in the back. It took ~15 min from being seated for someone to take our orders. Then another 15 min (30 since arriving) to be served water. Food came shortly after the water. While eating, a drunk or crazy guy came into the restaurant wanting to order alcohol, and kept loudly pacing around the restaurant while talking to himself and blasting music from his phone. While this was going on, the one worker was mostly in the back, and I felt extremely uncomfortable with this guy here unattended. It also took 20 minutes for him to be served a single bottle of beer. Then we had to wait 10-15 min to get the bill after asking. When the worker came back, she saw I had an amex and said visa or Mastercard only. Although I immediately took a different card out, she already walked away again and we had to wait another 10 minutes for her to take the payment. Excellent food, beautifully prepared! First off, this place is fairly new. It used to be a Thai restaurant before. Now it is once again, but with new owners and beautiful decor. My daughter and I shared an order of pad Thai and a cucumber salad, while my granddaughter had tom kha. Her soup was really delicious with lots of chicken and veggies. Our pad Thai came out, and upon tasting it I detected a pretty pronounced fish flavor. So as a vegetarian, I asked if fish sauce had been added. Our server, who I believe was the owner, quickly asked the cook and found out it did. They immediately made another serving without the sauce and it was wonderful. So service was great and food excellent. I would definitely recommend this lovely Thai restaurant if you're in Richmond. read more

We went Sunday for the first time. The place is clean and the food is good. The flavors are not intense. Nothing was spicy. We had papaya salad, green chicken curry and rice. It's family style and portions are bigger than at other places. Service could be better. There aren't too many employees in the dining area. They disappear into the kitchen. read more

We walked in and waited about five minutes with no one in sight to seat us, even though we could hear staff talking and laughing in the kitchen behind the curtain. Someone eventually came out and told us to sit in the corner. My wife had to ask for menus, and then we waited another ten minutes without any service. There were two other tables already seated, and we noticed the server only started taking their orders after we had been there for about 15 minutes with no attention at all. Ordered green curry and pumpkin curry (both vegetarian), Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee (waitress kindly substituted coconut milk for the dairy cream even though she was unfamiliar), and fried banana with regular vanilla ice cream and honey dipping sauce for dessert (took it to go). Service was very slow with only one waitress who seemed to be juggling tasks in the back and would disappear for a long time, but all of the food was delicious and portions were generous. My husband and I had lunch here the weekend of December 20th. It was good. We'll be back. I had Pad Thai with chicken. It was prepared well but lacked fresh bean sprouts or shredded carrots and there wasn't any tofu included which I thought was odd. The pad Thai I typically get at other places usually includes all those ingredients. Anyway it was a generous portion and the tamarind sauce was delicious. My husband ordered the green curry with white rice. It came with Thai iced tea. I had a taste and it was very good. The vegetables were fresh and al dente and the chicken was tender. It too was a generous portion. The food was good, the service was friendly. The prices were typical of the neighborhood. I deducted a star for lack of caffeine free beverages. We went to the restaurant for the first time two weeks ago and we were disappointed. We ordered the "stuffed chicken wing" as advertised on the menu and what we got was a fried chicken wings with the bottle sweet and sour sauce pour right on the wings. The presentation was shredded cabbages, wings, and sauce and all thrown on a plate with no thought into it. The worst part was the wings tasted like spoiled chicken wings. I took one bite and spit it right out, grossed! The pork basil was a bit salty. The chicken with basil was more like chicken with oysters sauce and barely basil leafs in it. My wife and I were able to walk to this neighborhood restaurant. We weren't expecting much. But, oh my...were we pleasantly surprised! The service was welcoming and attentive. The ambiance is warm. The food was absolutely delicious! We tried the Papaya salad, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew and Thai iced tea. The Papaya salad was just right, flavorful with the right amount of spice. The pad Thai had just the right balance of spice and sweetness. The noodles for the pad see ew was not over cooked as were the vegetables included in the dish. The Thai iced tea was just right as well; not too sweet and a perfect balance of tea strength and cream. I can't wait to go back! First impression is everything to me. Well...This is not Thai...it's Americanized Thai - This review is for the Richmond, Ca location on San Pablo at Nevin. First time trying this restaurant...we miss our beloved Sa Wad Dee Thai Restaurant that was in this location prior to it closing...THAT was true Thai cuisine. We ordered Stuffed Angel Wings - ohhhh so bad...ZERO seasoning, and awful, awful taste, almost like spoiled ground chicken, metallic flavor...over cooked ground chicken, zero seasoning with some kind of clear noodle mixed into the ground chicken. We are noticing most restaurants these days are scrimping on seasonings to save money...this dish was just a 100% miss...the fried outer coating was also flavorless, and unappealing. We threw it out. We had an order also of the fried tofu...the dipping sauce was an attempt at authentic...it's not...and the flavor laughs at you like..."Ha, Ha...dip all you want...I'm not helping you enjoy your meal." It was also used as the same dipping sauce for the Stuffed Angel wings...and this just says "cheap," trying to stretch the budget, but nothing about this sauce helped the fried tofu or the stuffed angel wings...this sauce is far too thin for the stuffed angel wings, and won't rescue that particular dish in the least. The Pad See Ew, a favorite Thai dish also had zero flavor...generous portion, just nothing authentic...over cooked everything. No seasoning, no flavor profile to say, "Hey...this is complex, and the individual flavors stand out." Nope. Again, same thin, clear not much flavor sauce was used with this dish...too thin and too unappealing. The Eggplant w/ chicken was so bland...the "sauce" was clear and runny...oh wait...it was the same sauce again...the chicken was over cooked...it looked Americanized...just nothing palatable. The same sauce used for the fried tofu to dip those in, and the stuffed angel wings...NO FLAVOR. A swing, and a miss with this place. For $60.00 this is a hard pass, and won't be back. Too bad because it's located about a mile from where we live, and it's beginning to look like there are no local restaurants we truly can look forward to, and enjoy anymore that have integrity and flavor...all are overpriced, did I say no flavor, sub par ingredients...just stay home, learn to cook your favorite meals at a fraction of the cost...Youtube has great channels for this...and you'll be so much more looking forward to knowing what you're getting... read more

My husband and I have visited this restaurant 2x. The portions are very large and I enjoyed my food. I found the Pad Thai was flavorful and fresh tasting. My husband always orders the same thing- yellow curry with chicken. Each time he asked for "thai spicy". The server always questions him and we both reassure the server he really does mean thai spicy. Both times, the curry was not served with any spice at all. Once is a mistake but twice? I don't mind non-spicy food, however, my husband eats thai specifically for that spicy hot experience. The people who run the place seem nice and I hope they work out this problem. read more

The food was so very delicious! I had fried tofu, chicken satay, and yellow curry with a side of rice. All of it came out super hot and fresh. The fried tofu had the most perfect crunch with a hot soft in side. The chicken satay was meaty and juice pared wonderfully with the peanut sauce, even though it took a little while to come out, our sever made sure to tell us about the wait. The curry felt like heaven on my tounge. The curry and so flavorful, I had chicken in my curry which was made perfectly. The carrots and potatoes were so good with it and the onions were sweet! The ambiance was so quiet, there was not too much people at all!! I would rate this place 10/10 read more
