Had a nice dinner with my wife. Food was pretty good but for price portions a little small. Waitress warned us twice no refunds on food ordered if too spicy so we went with medium. Could have gone spicier but didn't want to get skunked. Overall, I'd go back and try other options but they said they were selling restaurant but had another in Alameda. I would travel that far but was nice meal.

AWESOME food, nice comfortable place, met the super chef. She was cool. Loved the yellow curry and chicken wings. Amazing flavors.

Got take out on a weeknight and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Got a pad see ew, crab fried rice, pad Thai, and a yellow chicken curry. Everything has good flavor and I'm sure it would have tasted even better if we ate in since some of the noodles were stuck to each other by the time we got to them. Would be happy to return!

The pad see ew is to die for, and the staff they are the nicest and sweetest! This place is one of the best lao restaurant, love coming here -- my go to spot!

Ordered pad kee mao and pad see ew to go. The pad kee mao was the clear winner as it had more flavor. Portion size was large enough for two servings. The pad see ew lacked flavor and had American broccoli instead of Chinese broccoli. The waiter was confused when I ordered the pad see ew to be made vegan and then proceeded to ask me if egg was ok.

This has always been one of our favorite Thai places and still holds up years after it opened. The larb is my favorite! And the roti is a great appetizer.

Thai Papaya Salad. It was so good, I ended up getting one to go at the end of the night. I asked for Medium spice, it was just enough.

Went in on a weekday, had the place to ourselves for a bit, but several other patrons showed up while we were eating. Food was on point and service was very friendly.

5/5 from me ! Food was really good, it's always a good time every time we come, not too packed all the time but it should be. service is really great as well and it's always clean! They'd definitely be playing the slaps

Good portions were good and all the dishes were very tasty. We had pumpkin curry with tofu, pork pad Thai, rainbow salad and peanut lovers dish and roti appetizer

Ratio of veggies to shrimp is no balance at all. Very sad and disappointing they would sell this.

The food was definitely not up to par. I ordered take out spring rolls and Kao poon. Honestly, the ratio of shrimp and veggies to the roll was unexpected. But the peanut sauce was the BEST thing delivered. It was the only reason for the second Star. The Kao poon I thought would be better but it was tasteless and the soup was not even full in the container.. it was halfway full and very very lack of flavor and soul. I was very disappointed and dissatisfied, with that. I do not recommend the Kai Poon at all. Spring rolls are okay if you don't mind extra veg.

Amazing that we had not tried this spot until very recently when we moved back to the Bay Area. Very quick to seat, great service, and delicious food! Honorable mention is the fact that there is ample parking and the plaza has a reasonably sized parking lot to accommodate its customers. We actually found this spot because we were craving mango with sticky rice and they had some great ratings and pictures on Yelp. Lo and behold we ordered it to-go and were obsessed. We ordered Pad Thai, Barbeque Chicken Plate, Mango with Sticky Rice, Thai Ice Tea. Unsurprisingly their entrees are equally as delicious, large in portions (definitely shareable) and they have ample options of spice seasoning. Probably a new favorite of mines in this immediate area.

Pad See Ew and Yellow Curry
    Yvette M.

Staying in Richmond, we spotted this Thai restaurant nearby with great reviews. We walked in about 7pm on a Monday and were the only guests inside and it remained that way for the entire meal. We tried the Yellow Curry with chicken along with the Pad See Ew and added beef for an additional $3. The Yellow Curry comes with carrots and potatoes and was requested as Medium. It arrived with about a teaspoon of dry chili flakes on top. I'm guessing I was suppose to stir it into the curry. We decided not to and I'm glad we didn't. It would have been ridiculously spicy. Just an odd way to serve a dish. The worst part was the Chicken that was beyond OVERCOOKED. The Pad See Ew was saucy and served with carrots and broccoli. The noodles were decent along with the broccoli. However, the beef that I paid an extra $3 for was again beyond OVERCOOKED. Although the service was great, the meal was so disappointing and pretty inedible.

Hidden gem in El Sobrante that serves up some of the best Laotian and Thai food in the Bay Area…read more Every time we visit, must-orders are the Nam Khao (crispy rice ball salad with fermented pork sausage and fresh herbs) and Ka Soy (Laotian noodle soup). If you see Nam Khao on the menu of a Laotian/Thai restaurant, that means they know what they are doing just because it's so labor-intensive to make a salad(!) and the fermented pork has to be damn-near perfect for this salad to really shine and round out the fresh herbs and seasonings which includes lime juice, vinegar, and fish sauce. Ka Soy (the noodle soup) is a comfort food enjoyed in Southeast Asia. It's not the Thai-style where it's a curry broth and the noodles are fried, so let's not get it mixed up. Instead, it's bone broth that been simmered for hours and it's somewhat a lighter broth. The noodles are wide rice noodles in a big bowl of hot broth served with a mixture of ground pork cooked down with tomatoes along with fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and cilantro - simply a divine noodle soup that a must-try. It's not overly complex in terms of flavor, but it's a bowl of good ol' noodle soup that is comforting and great-tasting. If you haven't tried Laotian food, give Sue's Kitchen a try. try some new flavors and you may just become a regular (if you aren't already). The owners are friendly too! My dad even called it, "I don't trust ordering from restaurants within 45minutes of them closing because they like to rush it." Also, "15 minutes seems too quick for them to cook the food" Well yeah my dad was 100000% right! The chicken tasted as if it was cooked then REFRIED. The meat was dry as he**. The skin was too hard and just unpleasant. The fried rice was disgusting. It didn't even taste like fried rice. If anything it had a weird taste and a dash of pepper. My mom said it literally tasted like BENS RICE OUT OF A BOILED BAG! No eggs even were in it! I'm just so pissed because this was supposed to be our dinner after an 8+ hour drive. I will be calling to request a refund since they closed after we received our food back at the hotel. I had to just throw the whole thing away! Yeeeeeucccckkkk

We ordered chicken satay to start (comes with a nice helping of peanut sauce and cucumber salad), a pad Thai for the table with tofu, and a few lunch plates including the yellow curry, pad krapow, and spicy eggplant. Everything was packed full of flavor, and they bring a spice/sauce tray out to the table if you need to bring your dish up a notch. The lunch special comes also with a 2-piece appetizer like potstickers, egg rolls, and curry puffs which I thought was a nice touch. We ordered the Pun Khao Poon platter (lettuce wraps) with pork springrolls, pad thai with chicken, and the mango salad. The portions were very generous. The mango salad was the highlight of the meal, followed by the lettuce wraps. The dressing in the mango salad had just the right combination of sweet and tangy. We loved the addition of mint for the wraps, but I personally don't care for perilla leaves. The fish sauce accompanying the wraps was delicious and was also great over the pad thai, which was a bit on the bland side without it. Service was a bit less than perfect. When one diner asked for water, only her glass was refilled when another glass was obviously in need also; minor overlook, though. The one thing that was a bit disturbing was the noise level. It was extremely loud, so it was really difficult to hear each other talk. It didn't help that the party at the next table had a woman who cackled loudly when she laughed. It was a relief to step outside after we ate. Not sure what can be done to help with this, but it did make dining there not as pleasant as it could be. Even with this, I'd definitely return if I was in the area.
