I was luckily able to diagnose the issue myself with my car so I called around nearby mechanics. No one was able to get it in today or they wanted $600+ I own an old old old mercedes diesel that I am not ready to part with, and yet another rubber part went bad on me. I have known the owner for quite some time now, even before he started this business. And to be fair and not biased, I'm writing this review. The owner himself has always been a hard working and most importantly a honest technician. I have not seen him once do anything that wasn't right. His main purpose as a technician and business owner is to help other people, for the better. Some people believe that all shop workers and owners are evil and would bend over backwards to make an dishonest buck off of you. Not Top Tune. I read a review that stated that they were able to find a $100 gas tank over the one that was recommended that was around $400(I'll have to go back and check what that price was). But would you really want to invest in a $100 gas tank? Would you really want to ignore the safety of your passengers? I doubt that. Some may think that the parts prices are way too high, but Ulysses and his team have been around long enough to see what brands just don't work or are reliable, hence the more expensive one is always recommended ( remember, you get what you pay for). "Cheap parts do cheap things" Labor costs are always going to be static, you'll find the same rates anywhere. So it really boils down to is whether or not you want to take Top Tunes recommendations seriously, which is always for the better (in the long run) and not your pocket. If it was me and IS me, I would always take Top Tunes recommendations and service seriously because they decide what is best for your cars situation. I was purchasing a car from a dealer in the area and wanted to get a pre-purchase inspection. I basically wanted an honest, unbiased look at the car to see if it was something that i should purchase. After only about 30 minutes they reported that the car only needed an oil change and that all-in-all it was a really clean car. First of all, let me state that I actually didn't get anything repaired here. My car had been having some electrical issues and it wasn't the battery. So I brought it here to get an electrical systems diagnostic. I came in around noon and it was pretty empty. I explained what was wrong with my car and they did the test. It took about 45 minutes and they didn't find anything wrong. And then they didn't charge me for the test! Usually it costs $90 but they were super cool about it. I was very appreciative of that. I went in to get a routine oil change on a Saturday at Top Tune Auto. When I went to pick it up on Monday the owner said he noticed the battery seemed like it was dying. As I tried to turn my car on the battery was completely dead. This seemed extremely fishy because my Jetta is only 2 years old and there was nothing wrong with the battery until I dropped it off there. The owner then said "oh that's weird, well you know we happen to sell car batteries for 150$". If I had proof I would sue these guys for embezzlement. They either intentionally left a light on in my car all night, or replaced my factory battery with an old one. Unfortunately for them I jump started my car and bought a new battery at a local gas station, so they didn't even end up making an extra buck out of the scam. All they ended up doing was ruining a perfectly good monday for me. Please do yourself a favor and avoid leaving your car with these criminals! read more
