We made an appointment to inquire about life insurance on Saturday as we usually work on weekdays and when we arrived, she quickly settled us in. We were there for more than an hour and I did feel bad because it seems like her and her son had to be somewhere but were stranded here because of us. But she did not make us feel uncomfortable or rushed us or anything, instead she was very professional. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

She helped me get insurance Sept 2016 and initially seemed pretty helpful and nice. She had a quote from Mercury for me and then I realized that I might qualify for additional discount because of a credential I hold. She told me she can't update the quote since there's an existing one but once I accept it, she can talk to the underwriter and change it. I should have known better but since she was referred to me by a friend, I trusted her. So, I accepted the quote. After that, she stopped responding to any follow ups from me about the possible credential discount. (Not even "Hey, I looked but looks like it won't qualify you.") I let it go because the premium wasn't super high anyways and because she's a friend of a friend. So at the time she had also told me I have to keep the policy for one year before I could cancel it. So fast forward to now, I am canceling my policy. Her coworker, Susanna, helps me (Susanna is actually quite nice). I cancel on 17th and premium is still deducted on the 20th. Susanna ends up having to tell me I can't get the premium back because of the cancellation fee because it takes Mercury a few days to process the cancellation. As we talk about this and I am getting upset that I wasn't told about this cancellation policy, Susanna turns the phone call over to Sharon since it was Sharon who initially sold the policy to me. Sharon and I debate and argue over this because she never mentioned about a cancellation fee except for if I didn't keep my policy for at least one year. At some point she tells me that if she goes to buy new insurance, she would have asked about any cancellation policy. So apparently it's my fault for not knowing clearly when she said just keep one year and after that you can cancel. Anyways, she ends the phone call with, so are you cancelling? I told her I already canceled and she said: "Okay then, I can't help you." And hangs on up me.

I didn't need that, but needed general liability and workers comp. I got the liability set up and all was good. Three weeks ago I called to setup workers comp so that I could hire an employee as my business was growing. I was given a quote, agreed with the pricing, and was told I'd hear back from them the following week once everything was submitted to their underwriters. I was told it was ok to hire someone because the policy would be effective the date I originally called. So I hired an employee. Now, again three weeks later, I just got a call from Ben saying that my policy was rejected because they needed 2 years of loss history. As I told Wendy in the initial call, I had workers comp previously for one year. So, all of that to say this. This is a textbook example of incompetence, as NO ONE ever said anything to me about needing to have 2 years of workers comp history, until today. I've wasted 3 weeks of my time with these people, and because of them, I've got an employee and no workers comp. Thanks for nothing Ben.
