Small album that holds 20 photos. It comes in over a dozen beautiful colors.

Top Drawer has a new customer for life!! I needed a gift for someone I don't know very well and Google led me to this wonderfully unique store. The staff is attentive, friendly, and extremely helpful. I purchased a small, photo album that was surprisingly affordable at just under $20. I thought the clerk took the album to the back to find a gift bag. Instead of a gift bag he returned with a beautifully wrapped gift! Top Drawer, thank you for making me feel so special!

Happiness is not by chance, but by choice.

Very top shelf (drawer) stuff! ;) I like this store. I have only been here twice, but both times I brought something. First time was pre-COVID when my friend and her hubby came to visit us and wanted to go bar-hopping, so we started in the Mission and I took them to a few bars, restaurants, and a brewery here within our city limit. Obviously, we waltzed in here after some food and drinks next door at Lolo. Brought a cute bento lunch box. This time, I walked into here with my hubby and saw some cool wallets by Bellroy, bags, pens, and other well-designed gadgets. What I especially like are the cute Japanese postcards. I hope it will make whomever I send it to very happy.

Like any self-respecting Millennial creative, I know where to procure various writing instruments & notebooks. If pens that glide smoothly across quality stationary make you hot under the collar, Topdrawer's where you can satisfy your kink. I have more pens than I will ever use in a lifetime, yet everytime I set foot in here, I walk out clutching more. Not a papyrophiliac or pen collector? Topdrawer is also well stocked with unique gifts, knickknacks (like the giant brass safety pin I recently purchased), bento boxes & other useful/adorable Japanese products, sunglasses, & Kolo canvas pouches & bags. Happy browsin'!

I like this place alot and have been coming here for the past twi years to get my yearly journal. Staff is always friendly and quality of the journals are the best. It is a but pricy, but the quality makes up for it!

I stumbled upon this place while walking to Ritual to get coffee and had to stop there at Topdrawer and take a peek through the windows because it seemed to have a lot of cool stuff! I wish it would open before 11am so that I could grab my coffee from Ritual and then come to this place next. After a few attempts, I finally had a chance to check this place out. I love so many things here and anything made in Japan really caught my eyes. If you love pens, gel pens, pencils or like to collect cards and notebooks, this place is your heaven! I also like their Japanese slippers/socks, they are so cozy and cute. Just wish they were cheaper. I am also happy that they carry my favorite brands like Fuji (they have Fujifilm Instax) and Native Union (those fancy phone chargers). I've purchased gel pens and cards from here and would love to revisit when I'm in the city! If you like shopping at Muji, this one might be a good place for you as well. Topdrawer is located right in the heart of Mission on Valencia St. Finding parking can be challenging, but don't let that intimidate you.

When I tried to use it, I realized the tip has an unpolished, sharp metal burr from manufacturing that literally catches, tears hair, and scratches the scalp. It is completely unusable and hazardous (see photos). On August 29, 2026, I returned to the store politely asking for an exchange for an undamaged one or a refund under California's Implied Warranty of Merchantability. Instead of helping, the employees outright refused, laughed directly in my face, and refused to provide any manager or owner contact information. Selling sharp, defective accessories and openly mocking young customers is absolutely shameful. Avoid this place at all costs -- a complete tourist trap with zero accountability.

It's more than just a boutique... it's a warm, welcoming little pocket of joy in the middle of the Mission. One of the reasons I keep coming back (beyond the incredible gift selection and stylish, inclusive clothing) is because of the owner. She's owned this family-run business for over twenty years, and you can feel the love and intention behind everything in the store. She's one of the kindest, most humble people I've ever met, and every interaction with her reminds me why supporting small businesses matters so much. What really blows me away is that she always remembers me. Every time I walk in whether it's been a month or six she greets me by name and asks about my family. She remembers the little things: that my best friend I normally shop with here got engaged, that my dad fell ill last year, even what kinds of gifts I usually gravitate toward. It's such a rare and genuine connection, and it makes shopping there feel personal in a way that big stores could never replicate. Beyond the amazing people, the store itself is beautifully curated. You can find gifts for everyone !! From toddlers to grandparents, quirky coworkers to stylish best friends. Every item feels handpicked, and the range is both thoughtful and playful: hilarious greeting cards, cozy home goods, funky socks, beautiful clothes in all sizes, and unique accessories you won't find anywhere else. It's also incredibly inclusive and community-minded, with products that celebrate all identities, orientations, and body types. In a city that sometimes feels like it's losing its soul to chain stores and tech monotony, Therapy on Valencia is a refreshing reminder of what small business can and should be. A place with character. A place with heart. A place that feels like home.

I've been here plenty of times before and have spent my hard-earned money supporting this business. When I came in today, I placed my drink on the small stand outside since drinks aren't allowed inside, and started looking for the same style of earrings I had lost. I had only been in the store for less than two minutes when an employee approached me and said something along the lines of, "Excuse me, can you finish your call outside or put headphones on?" I was simply on the phone with my mother catching up, and I was not being loud or disruptive. What bothered me most was that the employee never greeted me or acknowledged me when I walked in, yet was quick to approach me and address my phone call almost immediately. There were also no signs indicating that customers aren't allowed to be on the phone inside the store. I understand wanting to maintain a certain atmosphere, but I don't feel the way this was handled was particularly welcoming or necessary. Unfortunately, after this experience, I no longer feel comfortable supporting this business. It's disappointing, especially as someone who has been a returning customer and has supported this store multiple times.
