I found this cute little gift shop in the ferry building and I really enjoyed a lot of the local art and souvenirs. They have everything from prints to clothing, including vintage finds and all kinds of other stuff. Great for some local gifts. Different vendors with different price variations. Some of the T-shirts were closer to 60 while others were 30-ish. I definitely found some fun stuff and would describe this as the kind of gift shop. I tend to seek out when I'm traveling. read more

Fog City Flea Trading Post stocks higher-end gifts in the Ferry Building. There's a wide selection. A lot of scents (candles, soaps), modern postcards, greeting cards, sweaters, caps, shirts, and handmade goods from boutique brands. Prices are on the higher side -- a baseball cap will run you $50, and some jackets go for several hundred. There's changing rooms and the vibe overall fits the increased price points. I'll recommend it to folks from out of town to find a unique gift that goes beyond the usual tacky fridge magnet. read more

What a lovely shop at the end of the Ferry Building! They highlight local artists and businesses in the area. Expect clothes, art, handmade items, and more! I really loved that this is an open space with lots of variety to look at. With a location by the farmers market and the Ferry Building Terminal, it's easy to just stroll through and browse for a bit! read more

This was a very cool store to explore. I love how it has an entrance from inside the Ferry building as well as outside. As soon as you walk in there are so many things to looks at. The store was aesthetically divided into different flowing sections that highlighted makers and creators. I was drawn to the mugs and my husband went right for the artwork. They have art supplies, home decor, clothing, pet toys and accessories, jewelry and more. It's very cool to have a store that highlights small businesses like this. I also learned that through the website you can "Shop Trading Post" for unique items online. They work with different makers and creators so visiting the store will always be a new adventure as different artists and vendors are highlighted. read more

Wow, it's been an empty space for the better part of almost two years. Seems like a lot longer than that. With some of the stores in the Ferry Building staying open throughout these years, some new businesses like this one are springing up now. I walked by when they first opened as the floor was not stocked with much merchandise. On a recent Saturday morning, I walked in while shopping at the farmers' market and was surprisingly impressed by the selection of things available here. Instead of the pots, pans, knives, and other cooking and kitchenware that Sur La Table sold here, I noticed a variety of art items, clothing, hats, and, most impressive to me, a huge selection of caps. I grinned underneath my mask as I saw the different Bay Area and Northern California city names adorning them. I mean, where can you find a cap that reads Daly City, Foster City, Larkspur, or San Bruno? The theme is obviously local which is fitting for this prime visitor location. I've noticed a larger number of Bay Area locals coming to the City especially weekends and holidays. The farmers market is an obvious draw. This store makes sense being here, at least for now. read more

The Ferry Building has needed a store like this for years now. RIP to the Sur La Table that used to hold this spot. Fog City Flea Trading Post is basically a fun boutique shop, consisting of various local artists, and various touristy yet artistic, beautiful, and tastefully done San Francisco-themed items! It's sort of like the West Coast Craft Fair at Fort Mason, but in a brick-in-mortar store location. I could spend more than an hour in here just perusing the little trinkets here. This place is perfect for buying gifts for friends and family. I ended up buying a hat from Bart Bridge, which features nicely designed hats for various local cities in the Bay Area, and a photo print from By Aleisha, featuring prints of her photography in San Francisco. Great San Francisco themed gifts that are quite pleasing and fun for the home! Some things I wish they would change about this place is the hours. I wanted to visit this place around 5pm right before dinner with a friend, but unfortunately they closed at 5pm! Anyway I loved this store regardless, and can't wait to return. read more

We went in today and it started out badly. They had this really big token vending machine by their front door (from the outside entrance) and our daughter ran up to the machine and said she wanted a token. Almost immediately, the heavy and thick plexiglass sign that was high on top fell on her head and left 2 nice cuts on her nose. This was haphazardly attached by a Velcro that won't really stick on to the bracket that is barely secured on to the token machine itself. I know bc it was hard for me to even try to put back on bc it didn't even stick to each other but the sign was heavy and shouldn't have been on top of something that little kids will play with. What really shocked me was that the person at the register, barely showed any concern, but whatever, I get it. Some people just don't like kids. What annoyed me was a few minutes later, another kid ran up to the token machine and the heavy sign fell on him, and I told the guy at the register that they should take that sign down bc it's hurting kids. His comment was- maybe kids shouldn't "shake" things. Now- my daughter is not infallible but she wasn't aggressive with the machine and nor was the other little kid. They were just like any other kid who sees a vending machine and that callous comment was so nasty to me. That sign was a heavy glass that is on top of a tall vending machine that is not secured well on top. Of course it's going to fall on kids. Very off-putting experience. read more

Great location for a marketplace of merchants and makers in San Francisco/Bay Area. They have handcrafted jewelry, apparel, accessories, ceramics, and vintage items. Lots of cool things to browse through. It gets quite busy and lively on the weekends when the Ferry Building farmers market is happening. There are multiple spots throughout the store to checkout. They usually have pop ups every other Sunday but they finally opened their brick and mortar store opened everyday 10am-5pm. read more

This place has the absolute cutest items. Clothes accessories a lot of gifts. Ton of local artists and local brands, lots of SF / Bay gifts.

Shopper, beware! If there's any chance you may want to return or exchange a purchase, do not buy anything. If you want to be treated with respect, do not go here. If you want appealing items that aren't horrifically overpriced, then for goodness sake, stay very far away! I received a birthday gift from this store. The item didn't work, so I took the receipt to exchange the it; the cost was about $100. The person who purchased the gift was never told any limitations on exchanges. After walking around the store, I saw almost nothing of interest; I wanted to leave, but didn't want to throw away $100. So I took an hour and eventually found something. But then found out that the store wouldn't accept the exchange because, they said, they no longer carried items by this artist. They said their store only allows 2 weeks for exchanges. No sign, no notice, and no verbal communication had been made about this limit. Moreover, the store help were patronizing, self-important, and condescending. I suspect that they are used to having tourists shop, so rarely need to think of returns or exchanges. Now I'm stuck with an expensive gift that didn't work, and, on top of it all the time I wasted trying to make the futile exchange. AVOID THIS PLACE! read more

Cute and charming. I'm glad they took over the old Sur la Table spot. The space is open and inviting, with lots of cool things to browse through. Ceramics, handcrafted jewelry (reasonably priced and not cheap-looking), dried flowers, hippie-ish clothing - you name it. I visited this relatively new store to do some Christmas shopping and bought some earrings by a local artist for my wife. Gave them to her Xmas morning before leaving on a long holiday trip. Although I usually have good luck picking such for her, these didn't work out as either of us hoped they would--bulkier than they looked and hung oddly once put on. She thought them over but decided they weren't quite right, and I agreed. She took them back after we got back and was denied their return, even for store credit. The staff told her something about their showcasing local artists whose work they rotate in & out and that somehow translates into a two-week window for returns; her attempt was around one month from purchase. Nope, sorry, that's our policy... yes, even for Christmas gifts. We support local businesses and shop them because they're neighbors, but we're astonished that they care less about their neighbors than we cared about them. They suggested contacting the artist and explaining our situation, evidently to see if *the artist* would work with us on a return; they provided what is apparently a first name, period. We're stuck with some pricey fare--and many of their wares are eye-wateringly pricey. We'll keep shopping local businesses but we'll never go back in here. read more

Amazing little store! So many well designed displays! I love seeing so many different styles and ideas in one place! Eclectic in all the best ways! Took a liking to A ceramicist named world Famous Gift Shop's work, along with A felt artist named Felt Flanerie! Both a little hidden in the back but I am glad I noticed them! Will be back and will post more pictures! Dont know why they closed off the rear entrance but not a huge deal to walk around to the other side! I might not have discovered this awesome little place as I originally wandered in from the ferry terminal side! read more
