We had the best experience ever at this location over the weekend. We pretty regularly frequent Top Golf, but this was by far our best experience yet! Simon was our sever and was absolutely amazing! You could just tell that he was being so natural and authentic and had our whole group laughing. He didn't miss a single beat with our group and provided everything we needed. I also had a chance to speak with one of the managers (Travis) and was able to share the experience we had. Travis assured me that he would give Simon a shout out and it was just so good to see that the team at Top Golf is rewarded for their great service. Clean, well-equipped venue, as usual, with very pleasant and attentive staff (almost OVERLY-attentive, frankly, checking-in every several minutes to inquire about drinks and food). 1.  RESERVATION FEE OF $25 IS NOT APPLIED TOWARD GAME PLAY IN YOUR BAY.  The "server/waiter" for our bay [I remembered his name, which also appears on my credit card receipt, but I'm withholding it for this review] was confused on this issue, as he told us that the $25 reservation fee would NOT go through as an additional charge.  So instead of $40.50 for 90 minutes of play (two people), I was charged $65.50.  I did not realize this until several days later when I checked my online credit-card statement.  AND YOU ARE NOT INFORMED AT ANY POINT IN THE PROCESS THAT THIS $25 RESERVATION FEE IS NON-REFUNDABLE OR NOT APPLIED TO YOUR GAMEPLAY.     I have attempted to call the TopGolf Virginia Beach location several times to discuss this, but I keep being informed (after a lengthy, COVID-19-related message) that, "No support agents are currently available to take your call.  Please call back later."  There is no opportunity to leave a voicemail message or a phone number -- or even to wait on-hold to speak with an associate.  This is quite frustrating, to say the least. 2 .  THE RESERVATION SYSTEM APPEARS TO BE "GAMED" (NO PUN INTENDED) TO FORCE YOU TO MAKE AN ADVANCE RESERVATION.  I made a reservation on Wednesday, 11/11 for Saturday, 11/14 (first available was 10:15am).  But when we arrived, there were almost NO CARS in the large parking lot.  BOTTOM LINE: If you're golfing early (i.e., before noon), you almost certainly do NOT need a reservation -- especially since this $25 fee is non-refundable. 3.  YOUR SCORE DISAPPEARS THE SECOND THAT TIME EXPIRES IN YOUR BAY AND IS IRRETRIEVABLE.  At that point, the monitor screen in the bay reverts/resets to the "next customer" mode -- thus depriving customers of the ability to see how they've done in their final game and/or record it by taking a picture.  And it wasn't as if the next group was standing there waiting to use the bay -- nobody was!  (And I suspect that the TopGolf COVID-19 protocols require a thorough cleaning of the bay before the next customer can use it.)  This is very disappointing for our 10-year-old grandson, who simply wanted to check his score for the last game.  The software should be changed to allow the scores of the games to be retrieved and displayed for a reasonable period of time (e.g., five minutes after play ends). read more

If I could go to Top Golf every day, I would, and I would never get sick of it, and I am not even a golfer, or liked golf! This is a great concept for golfers and non golfers alike. I do have to mention it is a very pricy activity to do especially if you are with one other person. So get a group together (6 people max per cube) and go and it won't hurt your pockets as much. I have sat at a cube with couches and a cube with a hightop table and stools. If you go there planning to eat, I recommend a high top table, if you are going soley to hit balls and swig a few drinks, ask for a cube with couches. The cubes are warm in the winter and cool in the summer, so you can wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. The 3rd level is the best as well! If there is a wait time, (we waited over 3 hours one busy Saturday), just take what you can get! The 3rd level which is the highest level has a little area where you can dance and play games and there are sometimes live singers. The food is very good, and the donuts come with little syringes filled with jelly that you yourself squeeze into them! All in all, this is a very fun spot to socialize, eat, play, and have fun! Whether you're going there to play golf and eat, or just to eat, this is a place to go to! It's clean for the most part, considering how busy they are. They do a great job making sure the Bays are clean and greet us at our bay as we arrive. They always show us the rules and check up on us to make sure we are okay. They are very good at accommodating groups, especially when it comes time to pay. All the hand sanitizers actually work, and the staff in every part of the establishment is always so friendly. Been coming here since they opened and the service hasn't changed a bit. This is my fav entertainment spot! read more

This review could be summed up in three words: Amazing, amazing & amazing. I had a blast for my first time at Top Golf. Full bar, delicious food, and great crowd. It does get crowded (but that's because this place is so great), so I didn't mind the wait for our bay. A friend of mine try to get me to come here before but I always brushed it off, glad she finally got me out, I have been missing out. If you are new you have to get a membership card which is $5 plus taxes but if you're military show them your ID and you will get a discount. The membership last a lifetime which is a plus. We had a 1.5 hour wait (on a Saturday evening) but like I said before I really didn't mind because I had awesome company and the full bar was like a hang out own its own. Btw, the Coconut Mojito is to die for. We were able to score a spot on the rooftop and had a very patience waiter. The food was great, I ended up getting a fried chicken sandwich. It was cooked to perfection, the chicken was well seasoned and crunchy. My husband fell in love with their French fries and decided to order another order of fries with his meal. My husband and I come here quite often but yesterday we came here for a friends birthday, who traveled from Chincoteague Va. After arriving at our bay on the third floor we were not greeted by our waitress for about 15 minutes so my husband went to the bar to order beers and a strawberry daiquiri. He was told by the bartender that he could not order drinks because we were at a bay. Then a waitress who was sitting at the bar with short black and red pigtails told him she wishes they served daiquiris. After he got back to our bay, confused and disappointed, the waitress with the pigtails appeared and told us she was our server. What was she doing sitting at the bar instead of greeting us? Why couldn't he order drinks at the bar since we had not seen our server yet? Money is money and he should have been able to purchase at least 1 round of drinks. We ordered the drinks (bucket of corona, pina colada, and a water) and it took quite some time for them to arrive after ordering. We then ordered some food, one of which was their featured blackened fish tacos. Anytime I have ever ordered blackened fish tacos from any restaurant they have been served flaky all the way through with blackened seasoning, so I assumed it would be the same here. They came out with blackened seasoning but the inside was raw. I am 9 months pregnant and cannot eat raw seafood so I asked the waitress to please have them cooked longer. She told me that she gets this a lot but unfortunately that is just how they're cooked and that they cannot be cooked any longer. This seemed ridiculous to me so we asked to speak to a manager. Morgan came to us and we told her about our poor experience so far. She told us that they could be cooked longer and she would have the chef recook them to well done and also add to the ticket that I am pregnant so that they would be aware. They came back out and were exactly the same as the first order. I was disappointed and sent those back as well and told her to just forget it. I did not believe that they would be properly cooked a third time so it would be better to just go without. How hard is it to cook fish tacos well done, especially when you know a woman is pregnant? At this point I just assume the chef was not paying attention to the tickets or just blatantly did not care. Morgan removed the fish tacos from the bill as well as the donut holes that we ordered. She also gave us an hour of free gameplay since we were there to celebrate a friends birthday and had so many issues. It was just very disappointing that we received such poor service when it was not very busy and that I could not have the fish tacos that were featured. We paid 750 dollars to reserve a bay for my birthday party (for two hours). They knew we had between 10-15 people coming yet the service was slow. It's not our server's fault, but I think Top Golf needs to set their servers up for success. My new in-laws came to visit (not play) and the manager told us we'd be charged more because we had two extra people. I would have understood if they had been playing or wanted to drink, but they weren't. Lastly, their system hardly ever registered points correctly for the game. Celebrated my youngest b'day 2 yrs ago.. I live in Baltimore and I have never been to Topgolf. I absolutely love that Topgolf offers two things that I love to do is golf and eat. The food was good and the competition was even better. We took my sister and her family there who lives in New York City and her kids have never golfed before and they had the best time ever. Horrible service. Smh will never come back here. What seemed like it was going to be a great night was ruined by immature, unprofessional staff. We requested to have two bays side by side. We were told there would be a longer wait for that. We didn't mind , we just wanted to be together. When we were called we got to the two bays and, they were next to one another but not in the same proximity. We asked the employees that were near our bay Eimilee and Toni if we could use the unoccupied bay in proximity to one of the bays we had and they told us to go downstairs to ask. Which we did and were told no because another party was on their way up. Therefore we waited until the group came up to see if they didn't mind switching with us .The group said of course they didn't mind , but we were still told no we couldn't switch. Then Emilee proceeded to tell me that we were breaking fire regulations because we had 9 people in one section. Now I'm super irritated because it was my husband's birthday and the staff were making it extremely difficult for no reason. So we proceeded to ask for the manager. Travis the manager didn't even try, making excuses for this and that. So we then decided to just be split up as a group and go to the separate bays. Our waitress Taylor was short, and then toward the end after we paid she rudely told us we needed to get up because thy needed the bay. It's crazy because after she told us to get up we went over to our friends bay and watched as our table sat empty for another 30 mins. Yes we waited 30 mins because the bay that my husbands was at waitress Turquoise took forever to bring their cards back. I'm assuming she was new but it was ridiculous. Top golf you have a lovely establishment and a fun environment. But your staff needs training on customer services and how to work with larger parties! Visited last weekend and ..... LOVED IT! It was beautiful outside so needless to say it was packed but we signed in took a seat on the 3rd floor and played some games until it was time to play the game. We did request a couch area and instead were given the table and chairs but it wasn't a negative. We played for 2 hours, experienced good customer service and loved their guacamole! We plan to do a birthday party here in the Fall because we had such a good time. We will def come back! read more

Visited TopGolf on Friday 2/14/20, @ 7pm. I went with my wife and 3 of our friends and had a real great experience. First of all, the employees working the check-in were friendly and all smiles. The check-in process was easy and it didn't take long for us to get our bay. Our bartender, Eniezah, greeted us promptly and was really nice. After telling her we liked sweet drinks, she made some great drink recommendations - Spiked Strawberry Lemonade, Orange Dream and Tropical Fruit MaiTai. All the drinks were great! Our server PAULA was FANTASTIC! By far the best server we've ever had there. She was energetic and super friendly and I will for sure request her next time I'm there. The food we ordered was great. We ordered steak nachos, sesame and backyard wings, margarita pizza, fried chicken sandwich, and a side of hash browns and fries. The food, as always, was delicious! Paula really made it a fun night for all of us. So glad we decided to spend our Friday evening at TopGolf! read more

Went in a busy saterday night for the first time and it was packed! So go early if you haven't reserved. If you have never played before make sure you go to customer service first to get your players card. We missed the sign and had to hustle to get them before going up to play That being said I have never played golf before but we had a blast. I missed balls, hit one right in the bulls eye and just random good fun. It was a tad bit pricey for the food and drinks but we would definitly go back. They had music playing and lighting that sometimes went to the beat with some songs. We will be back again! Good for groups or families or even date night! read more

Everybody knows Topgolf is a cool place. But did you know it's a great place to host a party? We had our company holiday party here and it was kinda the best. Started at 9am and welcomed with Topgolf hostesses with smiles and signs at the door. They led us to our private room that could comfortably hold about 85 people. The room included a private full bar (with bar stools). It was beautifully decorated with a dozen circular tables with small festive centerpieces. We also had bear pong (no beer) and corn hole set up to play. And two sets of french doors opened to our private bays for three hours of Topgolf play before lunch was served. We occupied about 12 bays with teams of six and we all had Topgolf staff on deck to assist. They were extremely efficient and friendly. For lunch, Topgolf prepared a buffet of grilled chimichurri shrimp skewers that were huge and quite fresh, pork loin that was super over cooked for my liking, a grilled veggie medley that was delish, really perfectly roasted "smashed" potatoes (aka extra lumpy), salad, rolls, roast beef, and a great herb-infused slice prime rib. I had seconds of that. For dessert, we were offered white chocolate covered strawberries, cinnamon sugar donut holes that you could inject with chocolate or raspberry sauce, and THE very best bread pudding mini-muffin things. I had like five, thankyouverymuch. So if you need a place to host a party where you can do something interactive and also leave completely stuffed, try Topgolf. But maybe eat first. What can I say that other people haven't said...nothing really, so here is my unnecessary two cents. I came here on a Thursday night around 6pm, the bar area was not crowded and there was no wait time to get a bay. One of the people in our group had a platinum membership so that may have had something to do with the wait time, but compared to the lines I've seen I cant say that had any influence. One of the bonuses to having a platinum membership is better clubs to play with. I suck at regular golf and top golf and these clubs did not help my game at all, but it did do a great job at boosting my ego to make me feel as though I was doing better. The game itself was simple and the top golf employee did a great job and giving details of the game and how to play. During the last 20 minutes of the game, the system stalled. It was quickly repaired but the staff was nice enough to give us an additional 30 minutes of play time for free. This is a good spot to visit if you're ever bored and have nothing to do. Even if you dont play golf, they have several floors of additional activities to occupy your time. read more

I had a real quality experience at Topgolf last Saturday. I showed up about 10 minutes before 9 when they opened and there were already 50 people waiting in line outside. I thought I was in for the wait of my life, like a Disneyland style wait, but a soon as the doors opened we moved through very quickly. The hitting stalls were plenty warm even though it was only 45 degrees outside, and we ordered breakfast too. The french toast was better than diner quality, and the coffee was as good as starbucks. Even though it was my first time there, the user interface was easy to understand and plenty user friendly. By the time we left 90 minutes later there was an hour wait to hit, so I definitely recommend getting there early. I had a great time at Topgolf and I will certainly be back! read more

Never in my life have I ever given much thought to the game of golf. It never really appealed to me. Seemed kind of uppity and boring and with not a lot of action as you would say basketball or football. I say this also because I've never even picked up a golf club bigger than a putt-putt putter. So here comes TopGolf in Hampton Roads. It's a HUGE deal! Like, HUGE! I had to look it up and see what the hoopla was about. My gosh, it looked amaze-balls!! The lights, the food, the atmosphere! I was pumped for it to open here in Va Bch. Last week was Spring Break for students and being a mother of a teenage boy, it's hard to coerce her child to do much of anything with her these days. His response when I asked him to go? "Ehhh, mom, I don't play golf, though!" (Surprise, surprise! Who is this child!? Lol!) I then had to send him pictures of it and low and behold, I get a reply. "Looks awesome! When are we going? Can I bring so & so?" A-ha! Got 'em!! *rubbing my hands* On a late Thursday evening we decided it was time to see what the hype was all about. Five TopGolf virgins about to embark on this virtual golf funventure. I invited my less than enthused boyfriend to come, too! Driving up was even exciting with all the lights and full parking lot. We weren't sure if it was going to be a long wait but we were gonna do this!! The lobby was packed full of people - young and old alike. Everyone was so friendly walking in! A round of Hi's and Hello's was comin from left and right! So welcoming! It's big and bright inside and the place was just whirling with spring breakers and music. The wait to get our cards was not as long as I anticipated but when you're excited, any wait is too long! After paying and receiving our cards then heading over to the Concierge desk (more helpful and nice employees), we waited maybe another 5-10 minutes. We were told as first timers it would be best to go on the 2nd or 3rd level... Great! A better view!! We were then greeted by a fun, spunky, energetic young man (didn't get his name, I'm so bad at that!) who led us upstairs to the 3rd level with a bag of left handed clubs, and took us to our bay. He was awesome. Not sure if he's heard it before but he totally reminded me of Kevin Hart with the matching personality. He happily explained the rules, the dos and the donts, gave us some tips, and left us to be and enjoy our game. Dude had some jokes! Not long after Kevin Hart, Jr left us that our waitress came to greet us and take drink orders. Once again, I failed on getting a name but she was just nothing but smiles and cheer. She was great at making menu suggestions and totally took care of us all night long. She never once gave us the impression that we were being annoying or an inconvenience and I noticed she was like that to the other players around us. I wish I had gotten her name. FOOD: Bacon Mac 'n Cheese Eggrolls. It's a must. I don't know how else to describe it but it's a must. Three of us ordered Fried Chicken Sandwiches and someone ordered the Mac Daddy Burger. Yo, that burger had Mac and cheese on it!!! My boyfriend opted for tater tots instead of fries, and it comes with what I call "tot sauce." Hahaha. Not sure what it was but it tasted something like mayo & ketchup mixed together. It was good! DRINKS: My Arnold Palmer came sweetened upon request and my boyfriend got drunk off Stellas and my friend got tipsy off a drink that sounded like Dreamsicle or Creamsicle, I dunno but I wish I had one of those!! Note to self: order one, Tami! DRAMA: Yes! Our first time there, there was drama about 20 minutes into our funventure. A loud pop drew everyone's attention to the parking lot and smoke was everywhere. Long story short, it was said someone was passed out drunk in a pickup truck when it started to catch fire!!! They tried unsuccessfully to break the passenger side windows with a golf club but managed to pull him or her out from the front windshield in time before it went up in flames. Staffers were quick to react and moved everyone from our side of the bay away from the commotion. You never know if it could have exploded in due time. We returned to our area and thy added 30 extra playing minutes to our machine, which was great. We ended up closing down the entire place when they closed at midnight. (They close at 2 am Fri & Sat for all you party people!) STAFF: Love them. After we got home I found myself thinking about all the employees we encountered while there. Whoever the staffing crew was did a great job picking the right personalities to work there. It's rare these days to find workers who seem to really enjoy their job. I was very impressed. I hope it doesn't change over time and that they keep a high standard when it comes to staffing TopGolf. I predict a lot of get togethers happening here in the near future. Who doesn't love taking your frustration out on golf balls. It's like a live action video game. They have a decent variety of spirits and local brews. The menu is diverse and offers all sorts or small plates and entrees. The food is good, not overwhelmingly so, but good. Their only downfall is the ticket time. It takes a loooooong time to get your food. Service is friendly and attentive. Wait times to play can be lengthy. (I've heard that they at one time had a 12 hour wait..seriously? Who the hell waits 12 hours to whack some golf balls?!?! But, I digress...) My only fault with the place is the noise level. If they turned the volume down just a few hundred decibels and got their shit together in the kitchen, they could really knock it out of the park. read more

Top Golf is really fun even if you've never golfed before. They provide everything you need. The food is good and the service is prompt and friendly. It can get very busy on weekends so be prepared for that. But there is a bar where you can wait until your bay becomes available. Looking for a fun date night? This is a great place to start! It is so fun here swinging links and having drinks. It is a little on the expensive side both food and drinks, I don't know if they have any happy hour but it would be a good time to come if they do. Just two of us with two drinks each, a burger and flatbread with 1.5 hour play was over $100. It is essentially bar food nothing real special or picture worthy. The one thing that I couldn't get out of my head, the main reason for a 3 star review, is the cleanliness. You have to touch everything, community clubs, golf balls, & touch screen monitor. Just make sure you bring hand sanitizer because they certainly don't have any! Our table was still visibly dirty and poorly wiped down when we got there too. Topgolf is an OK place to spend an hour or two with family or friends, but just "OK." The good: Their driving range design with huge targets makes it a fun and easy way for children and beginners to play "golf" (I use quotes because it's nothing like the real game, but that doesn't mean you can't have a good time). The price is per-bay rather than per-person, and lower earlier in the day; so coming with a group in the morning makes the playing part reasonably priced when spread all around. The so-so: If you're even a half-serious golfer, the way the range is laid out could be a little frustrating (the "holes" are about 50 feet wide, the scoring system is stacked against long shots with balls that are rolling, etc. -- you'll see when you go). The food is typical of mid-level restaurant food -- think TGI Fridays or similar -- fairly good, but not excellent. Prices are a bit high for what you get, but not outlandish. Service can be mixed. My most recent waitress was quite good; the one the time before, not so much. The bad: Cocktails are pretty weak, with mostly mixer and just a splash of liquor. That's not good when they're charging $9+ per drink. The bays comfortably accommodate up to about 6 people. If you arrive with a larger group of friends, they won't let you have two bays next to each other; instead, they give you only two choices: Split your group and play in separate parts of the facility; or buy a group package, which will run you at least $500, not including alcoholic beverages (not a bad business move on their part, but expensive for you, and limiting because you have to order food up front from a set menu). Final thoughts: Plan to go early in the day, since the hourly rate increases stepwise through the day. Because the price is per-bay rather than per-player, show up with at least 3-4 people. If you want to drink, go ahead and get a beer or two. Or have a drink elsewhere before coming. But forget about their watered-down, overpriced cocktails. Go to have fun, not to do any serious driving, and certainly not expecting a serious game of golf. read more

Probably the 10th time I've been here. And I've had to wait before, and that's not the issue. The issue was the attitude from the black girl with the curly hair at the consierge desk 20 minutes after we signed in when she said it was gonna be an hour and twenty minutes. Well, we had already ordered food. The transition to go from the dining area to the booth is something I believe they need to work on a little bit. I was told I needed everybody at the desk before she could give us our booth. So I went back to the table and got everyone else's cards. Sat and waited for our waitress, and then I hear my name being screamed from across the bar. And a hostess was ready to show us to our booth but we hadn't been able to tab out seeing as we hadn't gotten our food yet. After we got the situation under control with our first waitress, we paid her and I didn't feel like dealing with another one. read more

Changing my review. I have to knock this location down to a 2 for their lack of efficient managerial customer service. The young lady who set up my group's game improperly split the hour amongst us so that my fiancé and I ended up paying $20 and the other two members of the party only paid $1 each. When we called to have the manager rectify this error, we were blatantly told that we would have to fix the error ourselves with the other members of our party. I am disappointed by this apathetic response and expected so much more from a new facility. I will be contacting Corporate. On the positive side: Good Phase 3 Top Golf location. Came for the soft grand opening today. The food never disappoints and I highly recommend the nachos and wings. The best time to go if you want to save money is before noon ($25/hour per bay). If you want to hang out with a group and party, go on a Friday or Saturday after 7 or 8. Bars on each floor, fire pits, corn hole, and live DJs. read more

I went here for the first time on Friday around 6:30p. The parking lot was PACKED but we did valet and it was $5. very worth it! (If you can carpool with friends DO IT!) We were worried it was going to be a long weight but we immediately got placed in a bay! You have to get an account set up and you get a card that you put money on. That is how you pay for games so that way you and your friends can split the amount in to separate payments. You have a screen that tracks your points and how many balls you have per round. It feels like bowling. The food is AMAZING we had a ton of different appetizers and they were all delicious! Our server was wonderful and no matter how busy they got she was calm, cool, and collected. This place was a blast and they had great music. Had a great time yesterday, my only concern would be about how warm it was, but that's not something they can really change outside. For some reason our waiter was also the bartender so we had to go to the bar for everything we needed. We had a lot of fun though and the drinks and food were fine. I had the spinach and goat cheese salad with grilled chicken which was really tasty. Will definitely be visiting the one in Charlotte when we go home. read more
