I wonder if I already have written a review for Veggie Galaxy before? Sorry if a lot of what I will…read morewrite in this review was already written before! This diner has become our annual post-Boston Marathon tradition. It offers hearty vegan options after a heavy effort day. Whether you ran or ran around chasing your marathon runner, or you tireless held a sign all morning screaming your heart out, Veggie Grill delivers on soul-quenching food that will send you home with a happy belly! Comforting, tasty and filling. The vibe just makes you feel at home. Since becoming vegan, diners have become a place where I know I'll be getting a fruit cup, toast and a side of avocado... Not really a place I would be dying to visit but such is not the case at Veggie Galaxy!!! Vegans, vegetarians and food lovers all have something to enjoy here! Veggie Galaxy offers an expansive menu, the kind that leaves you feeling super indecisive and you just order too much food. It's perfect for the weary traveler/marathoner since you'll have leftovers to enjoy in the middle of the night! Our party ordered way too much food, we didn't have room for dessert (unless you count the entire round of milkshakes we ordered!). Since becoming vegan, milkshakes have become such a rare thing. It's awesome they have so many flavor options here and Veggie Galaxy will mix and make whatever your heart desires! This works great for our predominantly plant-based party who also has lots of lactose-intolerant folks. Sorry for not being super specific about what we ordered. Honestly, we have loved every single thing we have ever ordered here so just close your eyes and point to something on the menu. You can't go wrong! We love the staff here and look forward to our annual visit. Our dinner isn't complete without a photo with the VG fam celebrating another successful year at the Boston Marathon, topped off with the best food!

A fantastic vegan diner experience, with delicious food and excellent service…read more Seating was in booths or at a bar, and everything was clean. I loved the diner / space theme, and they managed to really pull it off. We went on a Tuesday night, around 7pm. They were busy, but we were seated quickly & our food arrived within 15 minutes of ordering. Our server was friendly & attentive, but didn't hover. For drinks, I got a Chocolate Martini (heavy on both the chocolate & the etoh--incredible), and my parter got the Bloody Mars (he gave it 3/5 stars). For entrees, I HAD to order the vegan Mac n' Stack, a ridiculous (but delicious) chicken sandwich with mac & cheese waffles as the bun. I ended up eating it with a knife & a fork (because it was so tall I couldn't fit a bit in my mouth), and I can't emphasize enough how amazing it was. The coleslaw it came with was creamy and paired excellently. My partner got one of the vegan eggs benefit, made with their vegan egg replacement. He liked it (gave it 3.5/5 stars), but agreed that the Mac n' Stack was the best thing we tried. We were so full that we couldn't try out their desserts, but I know we'll be back to get some of the cheesecake (and also, of course, to try more of the sandwiches!). Overall, this was everything I want out of a vegan dining experience. The vibe was so fun--didn't feel the food was both classic & creative, and they had so many amazing options. Can't wait to come back!

We ordered through uber eats; it is only available through a delivery food app. We got our order so fast and when we took the lids off the containers, the mac and cheese was still so hot, it was steaming! We got the original mac, the spicy mac, and an order of homemade chips. The original mac sauce was out of this world! It was so creamy and so delicious, I will definitely be getting it again. The spicy mac came with crushed chips and crackers to sprinkle on top. The mac was okay, the sauce wasn't too spicy but it had a flavor that I wasn't a huge fan of. When I order again, I want to try several of their other kinds of mac. We also got the homemade chips, and they were seriously one of the best homemade chips I have ever had. They were so crispy and thick and had the perfect amount/flavor of seasoning. Getting a side order of the chips is a must!

We decided to order two types of mac and cheese on a Saturday night in December for takeout. I noticed upon following The Mac Bar on Insta that they were offering the perfect mac combo right up my alley- meatball mac! Upon looking at the menu, I did not see it as an option (with the extensive list of other ones!) I DMed the Mac Bar's insta and within 20 minutes not only had they responded to me, but had also changed the menu so you could order the meatball mac. We ordered online- my boyfriend ordered the buffalo mac and I opted, obviously, for the meatball mac. The pickup was easy and prompt. Both macs were amazing. The portions were ginormous (we had leftovers for lunch the next day) and the packing kept the mac fresh even when we drove it home. The buffalo mac had a great buffalo flavor with delicious breaded chicken on top. It comes with blue cheese normally but we requested it on the side. The meatball mac was awesome- the meatballs were flavorful, the pesto drizzle was a delicious touch, and the mac and cheese was creamy and savory. I think sometimes with all the combinations of flavors created with mac and cheese you sometimes lose the taste and quality of the actual mac and cheese, but this was definitely not the case here. The mac and cheese was still the star of each dish with each add on as a nice flavor booster. Fantastic customer service, heaping portions, and honestly the best mac and cheese I've had in Boston- hands down. The Mac Bar will be a new staple in my take out rotation for sure!

This is my favorite oldies but goodie restaurant. Whenever I come back home to Rhode Island, I…read morealways make this stop a priority on my trip despite the ridiculous traffic. The restaurant allows you to build your own bowl with a wide variety of pastas, veggies, protein, seafood, salad, sauces and seasoning. After building your bowl, you bring it to the giant grill in the middle where your meal is cooled in front of you. You can make tacos, quessasillas, burgers and steak and cheese sandwiches. There is such a wide variety of foods for even the pickiest eater. I'm sad that they have closed so many locations over the years but glad this one is still around. We were taken care of by Mikayla who had such a bubbly personality. If you join their VIP club, you get all kinds of perks and discounts. We went for lunch on a Friday around 2pm which was great timing. We missed the lunchtime rush and beat th3bdinner rush so the turnaround for food was really quick. They have a full bar and also have a monthly drink special for $5. This month it was the mango mai tai. It's a very casual place which is great for groups. It was pretty quiet during our visit.

I…read moreremember being amazed watching them cook our selected meals on the big grill in the middle of the restaurant . I remember being happy to just try different things. So since I was in the area, I decided to take my child so she could also experience what I experienced as a child. The problem is, I may have selected the worst day to take her. When we entered, there's a sign that tells you to go upstairs to the host to be seated so we proceeded up the stairs to the top floor, where the main restaurant is. When you walk into the second floor, the hosts were already there, waiting at the podium to sit people. I was informed that there was too large big group of school aged children coming in and that my daughter and I would not be able to sit on the second floor, where the grill is, however, we can sit downstairs and would have to keep going up and down the stairs whenever we needed to grab anything to eat. I was OK with leaving and coming back another day however, my daughter being excited and wanting to try this restaurant out, convinced me to stay. So I stayed lol.... Within 10 minutes of us being there, the schools came in and it became very crowded very fast and very overwhelming. It was hard to navigate through so many people with a small child by my side. Although I paid $28 for myself and $18 for my daughter for our meals (drink were an additional cost) I ended up having only one small plate of food, and my daughter only had a bowl of steamed white rice. It was overwhelming navigating through so many people, waiting to get our meals on the grill and having to go up and down the stairs (two flights) with our meal in hand. Besides it being extremely crowded and hectic, the waiter and waitress downstairs at the bar were both very nice, the waitress let my daughter use her pencil so she could do her homework and the waiter tried his best to be attentive to the other customers who were guided to also eat downstairs. I would definitely return but would call to make a reservation to ensure that there aren't major events happening when we return.
